ford falcon transmission fill oil

When you have a late model ford falcon AU (could work for BA BF I don't know) it has no transmission fluid dipstick. The bung in the transmission is very soft and rounds off easily so you can't fill it. Symptoms of low transmission / gearbox oil are when the car will not engage drive when it's cold, and sometimes loses drive when you go around a corner or go on an incline. This method uses a sy...
Good way if required otherwise it’s up on the hoist effective if emergency top up required simple effective cheers for video
I have a Ford Territory Au. Same problem with transmission fluid. Any ideas how to top it up.
I have all this plastic there
I’m need help please
That’s is sad I can’t find that hose
Just ask a mechanic if not sure he can point it out for you
1 ment to be warm and running 2 hor the F do u know u haven't over filled it?
@@criddaobrien9208 if it's under filled you can add. If you fill not enough it is still under filled and then you can add. But not too much then it will be over filled and then no problem like under filled but won't be under filled but will be over filled. If still not over filled you can fill more to be not more than over filled but under filled. If then over filled will be different. Do you have a dipstick? Otherwise NFI give it a bit it is a 2k car send it.
@@grutnip hahaha what? It's a 8k car for starters and no dip stick or I wouldn't be looking it up. And it's not that hard to get the filler plug out don't use a shifter or the wrong size and u won't round it off.

9 liters it holds
old school
Where was the pipe running from? The cool lint?
thankyou dam fine idea
Your an absolute legend mate i hope you know
The filler plug is 16mm and pan and filter takes 4 litres. It has two magnets at the back in the pan, when changing the shift solenoids make sure the chambers line up or it will go into limp mode(3rd gear), I use lucas fix in my Au Turbo and it shifts much more responsive less indecisive.
EXCELLENT lateral thinking....thanks mate.
I brought one to top mine up
Thanks for the tip fixed my ute , I used a sauce bottle to fill it. Fixed thanks mate!
Awesome mate, you just saved me from removing the rack, even though I wasn't 100% that was the problem, I could see that switch covered in oil but didn't really know what the Fk was going on, very useful indeed, cheers.
Did the top up in my EL yesterday but it still launches itself back to 2nd randomly on the drive home, I’m starting to wonder if it’s computer related as I loose the manual selector aswell and if I turn the key off it drops back to 3rd gear (both solenoids off I think) till I turn it on and it goes back into 4th, then tries to grab 2nd again 😅
I watched this video 6 years ago and recalled it yesterday when I topped up my EL 😅 I recon I must’ve gotten the same super cheap auto syringe aswell 😅 took like 5 min to top it up
This is genius I have been trying to get bolt out for a week and this fix it in five minutes
Mate, you're a Bloody Legend. Cheers.
would this work on a 2007 lpg bf2?
Life saver
Quiero cambiar el circuito refrigerante para cuando un video compañero
Modify a cheap crows foot on the bench grinder
I took your idea and ran with it ( no giant syringe).... 1ltr penrite bottle has pull out spout but orifice is to big. So I pushed a silicon nozzle on , chopped it few times and voila.
Your Video was a great help. thanks
This does work temporarily this is a good fix if you need to buy ur self time but the transmission will still end up slipping after time but good video👌 If you haven’t striped it yet vvv Also note if the fill plug is to tight you can fit a 16 mil hex but not a 12 point (as it’s easier to round off!) And get a breaker bar it will give you better leverage and fits this ensures you that you will not strip the bolt, it can be over tightend don’t over tighten them just snug and little bit torque is good enough.
Can low trans coolant cause issue s with starting etc with car not thinking it's in park cos gearbox is shaggin out ??
awesome video. Really helped me. cheers
I have just the issue with mine when she is cold ,,,,,,,,,,What can happen if you over fill it ?
Just what I was looking for, sweet
Fucking genius. Great tip. Thanks mate
Thanks mate, I was suspicious of rack main seals but I think it's that switch because it is very wet around the switch.
My car was literally slipping gears after I tried changing my gearbox oil filter and putting new gearbox oil back into the drain plug, saw this video and it literally fixed everything, thank you!
Thanks heaps mate! Great help with this problem that I let go for a little too long now.
Absolute legend, jacked up the front of my ute, droped fluid and topped up. Because it was on an angle when I topped it up was still low. Solved my problems, thanks heaps
I decided to take the risk of using this method ...simply because I have been working on my XR6 for the past 4 weeks and the thought of getting under it again almost bings me to tears lol...I didnt do up the pipe tight enough did I? I noticed the leak halfway through a 50km drive in middle of nowhere and had absolutely no tools on me...by the time I got home I was pretty conviced my transmission cooler will now need a new transmission aswell ...hahahah ...FML. ;)
Can you do this with a ford falcon xr6 2008
Mate, You just saved me about $600 to replace my p/s rack when it was just the sensor. Cheers from the Gold Coast. :)
Freaking excellent.
Just did this on my car (2008 280cdi rhd). One thing to note - there,s no need to remove the air intake manifold ( the Y piece ) with the maf sensors. Just loosen the clips on the left and right and once the boxes are unbolted they will pull out.
Dam just had a look at my Ford territory doesn’t have those lines spewing
Great video mate 👏🏼
motor here looks very similar to the territory, could this be the same? D sign flashes while driving so I'm thinking it could be low transmission fluid or maybe something else?
This is not recommended
How many spins? I think mine is just spinning and not threading out
Knowing how much to put in with out over filling is the trick
Awesome video. Was wondering how to get this off and you’ve explained it
Thank you bro, love ya work
IT WORKED!!!!!! You know what mate you just saved me from buying too much power steering fluid. I took my falcon to my uncles to have a look and it does seem to be leaking from there luckily I replaced the pressure switch with a new one now it stopped leaking....once again thanks❤️❤️❤️
