Nishinippori | Tokyo | Japan
Our final stop in Tokyo, we stayed here by chance and for convenience because this is one of the Skyliner station to Narita airport. A quiet and low-key suburb, a stark contrast to the flashy shopping and entertainment districts.
We had one of the best ramen here in a little restaurant called Burari (ぶらり), a short 5 minutes walk from Nippori Station. The shop is hidden at the end of a long narrow dead-end alley, that you could easily miss it unless you were looking.

Tokyo National Museum in Ueno is Japan's oldest and largest museum, boasting an impressive collection of artifacts, including samurai armor and ancient ceramics. Video and photography are mostly and understandably prohibited. After the museum, we took a short walk through Ameyayokocho, a bustling market street, enroute to Akihabara. The scenery transforms from cultural heritage into a modern te...

Nakamise-dori Street is lined with shops offering local snacks, souvenirs, and traditional crafts. At the end of the street is Sensō-ji Temple, Tokyo's oldest and most significant Buddhist temple. Our day ends at one of Tokyo’s famous skyline on the banks of Sumida River. Next to the Tokyo Skytree is the Asahi Beer Tower (golden building) meant to resemble a well-poured pint of beer with the to...

In contrast to Kyoto, we've found Osaka, the kitchen of Japan, to be very vibrant and loud. At night, the billboard signs come alive, its bright lights reflecting in the canal below and drawing crowds of locals and tourists alike. The Glico running man is not just an advertisement, but a symbol of Osaka's resilience, optimism, and zest for life - a stark yet complementary counterpoint to Kyoto'...
