As another regular, just mentioning to you that my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about two months ago. That has thrown my schedule way out, and has tested my sanity. My father's doing ok, there's a chance he can beat it, and I'm doing ok... I do let out the odd cackle though... And yes I thought to myself, "did I really do that?" @@drfill9210 find some friends with parrots that have some real brains and ask them to draw a field where your parrots can walk, then let them or a high parrot negotiate with your parrots to not destroy things(which they know makes you mad because obviously you did something that made them mad)

@007fietspomp what say you watch the story of Max the cockatoo, then watch the story of Loki. You will find they are both rescued. I repeatedly say that i never intended to keep birds because they should be free. In fact the purpose of this video is to discourage people from getting one! These birds are regularly out of the cage, and I guarantee it's voluntary. To them, their cage is a place of safety. If I release these birds, they will be prey. I discussed this very issue with the vet. I hope you agree she would have brains.

@@drfill9210 i never said release them in the wild, also theres plenty of cuckatoos that are less angry and walk around their owners houses freely, also if your not lazy you can train them to take them with you, furthermore i have no idea if your vet has brains but ive taken some action myself and hopefully it will help in you and your birds futures, goodday :)

@007fietspomp so the fact that Loki prefers to be in her cage is not concerning to you? Is just the fact they are in cages? Yes I've seen those birds that walk freely. It's because their wings are clipped. Tell me. What do you do when you get another bird? Are you aware that it's possible that they might fight to the death? And what about when you are asleep? Their beaks can chew through electrical cables.. Now let's talk about brains. Why are you so certain that I have none? Also do you personally have a cockatoo? Can I see a video of it please?

I agree, it's much more exciting for everyone when that su 27 falls apart the moment it tries to bank to the right... but the rest of the world has gone the dull route.. ie planes that actually stay in the air, when they drop bombs, they land on the target rather than their own city or a random kindergarten... admittedly all those things are way more exciting, but the thrill of staying alive longer than 2 hours in your plane soon overtakes those kinds of antics.

Prevention is much better than cure, but not an option now. I suspect that this bite feels exactly like a bite but it's really called beaking. They explore, preen you, test strength of their perch etc with their beak and they don't understand necessarily that it hurts you. When you react, they note it as a positive interaction. It encourages more of the same. He probably thinks it's a game. So when he does this, try to keep yourself safe, but try not to pull away and make loud noise. Lower the tone of your voice, put the bird in the cage for 10 minutes, so not make eye contact or react, then play with him again after that time so he knows he's still a part of the group.

@drfill9210 sadly, most people doing this don't have proper safety equipment and breath the toxic smoke when they burn parts to melt out metals

I see where you are going with that... probably not. Technically burning at over 600 degrees Celsius should net co2 and water only. Yes there are issues doing that.

I'd done 2 takes, Max complied each time but somehow I'd managed to do something wrong... I eventually decided It's candid, so I'll release the footage even though it has a LOT wrong with it. Then I recorded another one with camera in hand- which technically shouldn't have worked, but it did and I made a short with that calm down music. Max performed brilliantly, it seemed as though he knew what I was trying for and acted the part. I really like that short. Anyway I think I'll put a montage of Max together starting with the splat video, moving on to various times where he was hesitant or aggressive, finishing with the breakthrough. I'll try to put actual egoist into that one.
