@arberfilms5998 That's good, mines a Silverado and a lot of people on the FB forum have complained about same thing. Honestly my last Silverado with the 4.3 did the same thing but never had any issues in the 10 years I had it.

Very interesting. My 2.7 EcoBoost has 99K miles and doesn't burn any oil. I know GM had a lawsuit for their 4 cylinders back in the day for defective piston rings leading to 1 quart every 1000 miles.

I agree. It's my father's truck so that's what he wants. I go 5000 in my Fusion Sport and had Oil analysis done which revealed below average wear metals and about 2000 miles left in the oil.

You’re wasting your money. We have a fleet of over 100 trucks from the big 3. I randomly send oil samples of the used oil for analysis, lab analysis shows the oil is still good / in spec. Same with diesel equipment going 500 hour intervals, used to be 250 hours.

@@justinanddarleneagualo so I made a comment about that in the description. My uncle who works for Ford said there is no need to add any kind of silicone seal. All you need to do is install the new light and hand tighten the nuts. I did not use silicone and haven't had any leaks in heavy rainstorms or car wsshes.

Glad I could help! My transmission doesn't have any sort of noise, so unfortunately I can't provide any sort of insight. I know that for example, when a power steering pump is low on fluid they can make noise, but if your fluid level is good, I'm not sure what the cause could be.

That's what I do on my personal vehicle. I'm getting my oil tested to see if I can extend the interval, but for most people 5K is a good number.

I'm really not sure on a specific range, but I believe EOT above 240 and TFT above 220 is when things can become a cause for concern. Where you drive and if you tow anything can increase these numbers as well. Hope that helps

Ya those are normal temps. Ive seen in other gm transmissions you were able to bypass the thermostat to let it run cooler. These are electronically controlled so it's not possible. Whether it's good or not that is what they designed it to run at.

No problem! Luckily Ford put those two grommets on the end so you have just enough room to pull the liner down to do this job.

Aside from the plastic housing that holds the filter, no. If it's the lower metal portion that the plastic housing screws into, then I know that can be a big job.

the oil filter housing is built into the entire timing cover. youd have to replace the entire timing cover to replace the housing.

@@altonrachal you weren't kidding. Luckily these don't seem to have issues with timing cover leaks.
