Exploring my First Gaming Laptop - Savvy Sage (First Episode!)
I love my top of the line dual 500mhz G4 tower.
Didn’t hasbro bought InfoGrames in 90s like around the 64 bits era And hey maybe they can bring back the Backyard Sports games
It was the other way around: Infogrames acquired Hasbro’s video game division (which included the Atari IP) in 2001. And as of now, the Backyard Sports IP is owned by someone else, so no, I don’t think it’ll return under Atari anytime soon
@@SavvySage ok makes sense that also why THQ Got alone in the Dark
Great job! Enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching, and thank you very much for your support! Much appreciated :)
Oh man, I haven't heard the Toast Anthem since the 90s!!! I literally got chill bumps and flooded with nostalgia.
Can you play DOOM For Apple IIe?
I still use starry night on my PC! It's a great middleground between the screen being on and off, since it doesn't need to turn back on when you come back. It's also just great to watch, and looks amazing on a high-res display!
Well done!! There's so many more After Dark modules than I originally thought!
Not as prellavent.
Good luck convincing the younglings that screensavers are not background pictures/wallpapers (-:
There is NO WAY this video has only 624 views. Is that counter broken? It has to be broken. Amazing story. I didn't even know the origins of Berkeley Systems and the After Dark story. It was just a thing... a little file/folder I copied from computer to computer (oops, was I the problem? lol)... at school. lol. I'd sometimes go trying to find new modules and experience them. I remember the problem of "requires 256 colors" (while in higher-color modes) all too often. Can't wait to see the story of YDKJ... I lived (at least, as a kid) through AD3, AD4, and the original YDKJ. Couldn't believe the computer was even capable of such smooth, seamless, seemingly-limitless natural narration and smooth graphics! It absolutely blew my mind every time, that YDKJ played so much like a seamless game show, and not a computer game at all (as we knew them then).
Ok now i know how Activision owns Crashs and Spyro
Video game history is fun
“Ill-fated Lisa”, oh just heard a bell go ding
Well produced and informative video. Not having used the 8bit systems I had no idea some applications cycled colors like that.
Fantastic video! Great job! Just a few weeks ago I ran across an interview on LowEndMac with the original Windows developers, along with a link to their version of the story on their website. They seemed REALLY salty about being cut off from the development of 3.0 and onward and claimed that any later versions were far inferior. Although my own memories are mostly about the 3.0 and later screensavers where they really got fun and creative and where we as kids would literally just sit in front of the computer for hours watching screen savers (sounds weird when you write it down like that)
Yeah... I had contemplated on whether or not I should bring up their perspective in the episode-ultimately, I left it out as I felt it didn't fit the story well enough.
I hope you enjoy my longest and most ambitious episode to date! Special thanks to Steve (Mac84) and Ron's Computer Videos for lending their voices! P.S. If you enjoyed this video, be sure to leave a like and subscribe for more content like this!
I truly can't wait for what you got on the History of You Don't Know Jack. Really big fan since 2011!
It'll be a while before that's finished-I've still got a long way to go, but I hope to have it done in time for the franchise's 30th anniversary next year
@@SavvySage Well, I'll wish you the best of luck.
Great video! I never understood the purpose of the screen savers that filled the entire screen with light. Seems it would just make the problem worse overall.
Static images were the issue
I had an Apco SE (IIE clone) and then a Laser 128. Another clone
Dang this did better than the technology showdown videos and it’s only been 10 months
Probably for the better
awesome informative video
