So, the bit about Tamiya panel liner is a bit of a wives' tale. If enamel wash pools inside of snapped together parts, it can't dry properly, and make the plastic very brittle (this impacts both PS and ABS plastic). Moreover, ABS plastic is much more prone to damage than PS plastic is with enamel wash. I myself panel line on bare plastic with Tamiya panel liner, but I do them on the sprues, and only on PS plastic. I've never had a problem. And, you can clean it up easily with Zippo fluid that you can buy at any gas station or smoke shop. Trust me, if you use enamel wash as panel liner smartly, the payoff is much better than markers ever could be. Just make sure you use that stuff in a well ventilated area, or wear an N95 mask or something, those fumes are toxic. Oh one more thing, you can tell what material the sprues are made of in the instruction manual, and the sprues themselves are also clearly marked with the material as well.

Do I have to worry about getting topcoat in the joints or on the polycaps? I come from Warhammer and what's appealing to me about gunpla as a side hobby is that it's much more instant gratification and I don't have to do all this crazy subassembly stuff, so if I could just spray the whole thing with minimal masking and not have to worry about gumming up the joints or breaking down the polycaps or anything that would be great.

Modern RG kits have inner frames. How would I go around top coating that? Ive always been an HG guy, but i bought the RG Nu Gundam and after taking a look I'm kinda at a loss. I cant just pop off the limbs like a HG right?

Other videos I’ve seen on seam line removal on colored plastics they melt the runner plastic and brush it in the seams and that doesn’t leave white lines. Usually it seems like brushing the cement right into the seams will leave white lines after sanding. How were you able to fix the seams and not leave white lines?

This is super helpful I'm planning to do water slides and top coat for my MG freedom 2.0. now I'm just wondering for the freedoms wings should I keep the wings bits separate then put them together or have the wings fully built and top coat?
