Ooof, man, I'm sorry to hear that! I'd heard about some issues with the gearbox in the last gen Type R, but hadn't heard of the issues with the new one's or with the hatch. I didn't have any trouble in the 500 or so miles I had this one and really enjoyed it. Hopefully it's just a fluky thing and they can fix yours up or get you a new one if it's a lemon. Sounds like a pain to deal with 😢

It's pretty bare bones. It's strange because they offer kick to open in other countries. But oftentimes the smallest crossovers in the lineup are last to get the latest features. The Rav4 has it, and there are some other compact and subcompact crossovers around that do, just unfortunately not this one.

Yeah, they're definitely underwhelming in the looks and interior touches departments. Most other automakers have managed to get the "cheap" stuff to not feel quite as cheap, but Toyota is holding back a bit. I think the price is still about right though. The thing about the Toyota tax is that you get it back when you go to sell it.

No 12v outlet in the luggage compartment is pretty incredible. A 20 year old Lancer has that.

Most Toyotas for the past several years have had a similar look. Kind of like a frustrated baby about to scream. I call it the "Greta Thunberg" design.

A little sus coming from someone with Porsche in their name 😆 I love these things though. 5.7 seems about right. That's not exactly quick for a sports car.

@@GearboxCarReviews It's 6.3 seconds for the 2.0 engine. I know you guys like rolling starts on your 0-60 times which may account for the 'faster' time stated? Discuss ......

@karllelliott681 Car & Driver, MotorTrend, and most other sites I can find on it report 5.7 and 5.8 from a dig, so that's what I went with.

@@GearboxCarReviews Understood. Could your source material be wrong? My 30th Anniversary ND2 feels more like 6.5 to me (very similar to my MK7.5 & MK8 FiSTs). My first search came up with 6.3 to 8.0 seconds (2.0 to 1.5 engines)

Oh and am I the only one who actually likes that colour on the ND3? Subjective I know but it is surprising how few people (who comment) say they like it.

It was an ancient engine though and plagued with issues. This new 2.5T was long overdue. Kinda strange the Stinger got it first with the 2022 model refresh.

There are a couple of services available that will enable the adaptive matrix headlights. I've done it. At $700, it was pricier than I had hoped, but I live in the country and if it helps me avoid hitting yet another deer it's worth it.

I have seen that. It's super frustrating that we can't have them enabled from factory, but seems worth it to enable them.

@@GearboxCarReviews As I understand, the concept has been legalized in the US, but there hasn't yet been a regulatory consensus on its application. Audi factory for US deliveries and US dealers are therefore not willing to help.

@slingerace yeah, that's essentially it. When I asked Audi about it, they said that the NHSTA approved it, but "the way the regulations and testing procedures are written they are at odds with one another."

I've heard great things about the GLA as well! Haven't had a chance to get into one yet though. I though the space of the GLB was perfect for a small family, but if the space isn't an issue, then I can see how the GLA would be more appealing for sure. Sorry you have to wait so long, but congrats and hope you enjoy it!

Nothing from factory as far as I can tell. There's probably an aftermarket kit of some kind for the M cars though. I don't mind the throws in this kind of car. It's more the rubberiness that bugs me. I wish it felt more like the Supra.

I think the V6TT suits it pretty well, but I do love an NA V8. Would definitely be cool to still have as an option.

There's a little bit more room, yeah. You're still going to run out of headroom pretty fast if you're tall, but there's a bit of space.
