As someone who has purchased a used disc from you, thanks for keeping them reasonably priced. I'm so tired of "used" discs being listed for $2 less than retail.
I appreciate that! I keep them as cheap as I possibly can because I am in the same boat!
Super fun to find your channel as a guy who just moved to MI and haven't been able to get around to a lot of courses yet. All I have to do is watch your content to figure out if it's worth the drive. Grabbed a used disc from the site too to help out ;) just played Hickory Hills in Traverse City today and it's insane if you haven't played it. Probably gona be hard to film, but worth a play regardless.
Nice one Hunter:)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Probably wouldn’t get much tree love from it!😂 cool video 👍✌🏼
I made 5 benches for my local coarse. I agree with you we are adults and to keep our coarse clean 💯
Absolutely 💯
Fun fact, had a Red Opto Pure roll right into that hole 6 water 😂 Someone found it and got it back to me like a month later
You were on whites for hole 7 and hole 13 but they are the better tees to throw from because the reds kind of pinch you off and give no direct view of the basket. And no, no tee pads on 12. There are red, white, and blue pegs that are hard to see 😅
During the weekend mornings. Probably 25-50 mountain bikers are zipping around. Kinda fun experience. Especially when i griplock abd have a disc fly over their head 😊
Adds to the thrill of it i suppose haha
I rage quit halfway through the video. You were a trooper to keep playing as long as you did
I just found your channel yesterday. It's great to see you playing and liking our local courses. Have you played Coldbrook?
Glad you enjoy it! I have not played cold brook! Where is it located ?
Tough course!
Right choice to bail. Thanks for the effort with a brutal course. Glad to see note that locals are planning on cleaning it up. Hope you went and found that Kia. Disc production is interesting. Market saturation, supply and demand, competition and profit maximizing are all in play like anything else. DG can be very affordable and also very easy to get carried away with its products. It's great smaller companies and YT'er's are giving it a go to try and break into market. Difficult but great. Keep up the awesome videos. Best on YT.
Anyone playing this course remeber to be a bit extra respectful the course surrounds a special need camp
Thanks for the review. I'll probably try it, but good to know it's a pain.
Good luck out there!
Well this might be the most practical disc. Perfect for long putts as the shape seems like it'd stop (pun intended) rollaways. I think you should try throwing a tomahawk/thumber and a roller with each disc
I suck at rollers but a tomahawk I didn't even think of! I can do those, thank you!
I think the more disc golf grows, the more people buy beginner level discs, the more people start playing and stick with it and become more advanced, the more they will buy more unique discs, or I guess advanced level discs. A disc I think that will eventually will fail in the market is stable drivers. Not enough people care about have a driver that just meat hooks, everyone wants understable discs unless you have 400+ ft of power to make a stable driver usable. Companies should chill out at pumping out new stuff, I think they should focus on pumping out what’s popular and selling.
That's a fair take but the stable/overstable drivers are what the pros throw so I think those will always be popular!
Livin tha life
Trying man!
Hunter, I will tell you, I lose a disc on average, once a month. And I'll re-buy it. I'll also buy a few tour series discs of my favorite players. Even you got me to buy a piwakawaka. Lol. But I love buying and throwing discs. I think the business is fine. Yes, too many new companies. I'll also have to buy your shirt because I love this channel
First DNF 😂
This comment hurt my sole lol
I appreciate the honest review. I had fun watching even if you didn't have fun on the course. I hope that makes it less awful in the end. We all want ever course to be good but it just isn't that way.
I played this last summer. Almost had to carry my father-in-law out.... THE worst course I've ever played
I believe that man! Unnecessarily punishing
Hummingbird checking out the red flag on hole 10 basket was cool. This looks like a much better course than the other one. Have a good one 👍
Thank you, man! Yea, that bird was wild!
As a course bagger (400+ to date), I will play anything with tees/baskets. Some of them end up being “one & done” courses, not coming back. The walk from 10 to play two holes is RIDICULOUS. The cliffs out there were even worse. The thing I don’t understand about courses like these are, what is your point, rather, who is your audience? Are you expecting the Pro Tour to be stopping by (not realistic)? You’re in BF Egypt so why are you building a course not appropriate for your average hucker?
I have no idea, I think it may be people from the city or people in general designing courses that do not understand much about the game. I have that same thought often. 400 under your belt is very impressive
Just bought your yellow DD3!! Sweet new merch Store Man!!!
Took a billion hours to make haha but I am proud of it and glad you enjoy it !
I believe this another Jim Schultz creation. He's known for the dangerous Goliath course, a church course in Ludington that throws over parking lots, the awesome Fairway to Heaven, Lake Arvesta, and old legendary Leviathan. With every swing of the bat there's either a homerun or a wild swing and a miss.
Oh I didn't know that! I know him well, but yea, Goliath is the worst course layout I've ever seen!
Talk about putting in the work. Can’t criticize your efforts. I don’t buy discs much anymore. The prices are just getting out of my budget. Love playing the game but when you go to say a course like this one you can lose a few. Not being the greatest of players my odds are high. The replacement costs sucks. My new shirt looks great
Thank you so much for your order! Yea it's crazy what it can cost to try out a few new discs!
Thanks for the upload
How you enjoyed it!
@@tossingplastic I did. Also just placed an order on the website. Good variety of discs. At a decent price too.
24hrs from the time this posted might be orange sky's over Iran and a silent world
Let's hope not
@@tossingplastic I'm praying hunter ...
Let's help out with things in our own country before worrying about other countries. Tennessee and North Carolina need our help and prayers.
@@Jase-ul5yi thats a natural disaster my guy. Yes it's bad . But there was warnings . And nobody chooses to leave .. You clearly don't understand the situation. Israel is the holy land. Hope all is well hunter. We are going to war 😞.. It's hard to watch anything right now. ..I'm just praying
It is a crazy time we live it! Video is supposed to help break from it for a little
@@tossingplastic i know .I know . Disc golf in general is supposed to bring us to just remember the simple things. It's not you or disc golf hunter you know that .👽♠️
I personally think they are putting out way too many new plastic types. It really isn't possible to buy new discs constantly.
I definitely couldn't afford to!
I played that course over the summer. Totally agree with u it was not fun. Hole 1 is a pretty epic hole with the basket overlooking the river. Hole two was muddy and slick and it took forever to go down the ravine and get back up. It just gets worse from there. I was more exhausted and frustrated than having fun. U missed hole 18 where you throw 200’ up hill and your disc rolls back down the hill another punishing hole. I agree and don’t blame you for walking off. This course sucks to play. I look forward to another one of your videos at a different course.
Seems like we had almost identical viewpoints !
Thank you for showing this one - I’ll avoid it!
Meyer broadway is in my back yard literally. South is better. North longs is great north short is too short
Not a bad back yard to have that's forsure
Thinking about it. If they're 3d printed, the ridges that the printer leaves might cause more air friction and reduce glide. The corners on the disc will also reduce glide. I guess at least make sure you really sand it down smooth. Try 3d printing a domey version.
Interesting! I'm not sure how a dome version will go but I can give it a try , solid input thanks!
Doesn’t throw it until 2:19…you’re welcome
Yea, for those who don't have interest in the disc design and thought behind it. Some people just like to see them throw and I respect that thank you!
Too much unnecessary talking. Just throw the damn disc already 🤦♂️🤦♂️
A lot of disc golf enthusiasts like myself like to hear the details and contribute! If you just want to see it throw feel free to skip ahead!
While you're trying out various concepts, why not one with dimples like a golf ball? You could experiment with dimples around the rim where the airflow is greatest, but none in the flat, or you could try the reverse.
Not a bad idea, just have to design it on the 3d printer and see if it can work!
Dynamic made a dimple disc way back in the day - Early 90's - sold thru Discovering the World. It was crazy hard plastic.
I was looking at the PDGA requirements for discs and I don't see anything that would stop a non-round shaped disc
Someone tagged me in something that's said it had to be circular, so I'm not sure what exactly that means
@@tossingplastic I was looking at the guidelines and it said there was a required radius however the word radius could be around any shape so if someone found circle then it would have to be round if it is just radius then that means mathematically it could be any shape as long as it meets the requirements. Maybe they (the PDGA) used the word radius not knowing that it could mean any shape if that is the case you got a loophole to do any shaped disk.
Yes, of course it has to be circular. www.pdga.com/files/pdga-technical-standards_2024-05-08.pdf Guidelines for Discs Manufactured for PDGA Competition All Global approved discs must (1) have a circular, saucer-like configuration, with a flight plate unbroken by perforations and an underside inner rim depth that is between 5 and 12 percent of the outside disc diameter. The flight plate is defined as the upper (or dorsal) section of the disc, which is delineated by the points where the inner rim depth is measured. The saucer-like configuration requires a significant degree of asymmetry between the upper and lower sections, resulting in distinct top and bottom sides of the disc; Notice, in the first sentence of the technical description of what a disc MUST be: "circular".
A disc is PDGA legal once it is approved by the PDGA. The technical standards outline what they are looking for but in the end it will come down to the standards group saying yes or no. That said, there are two refences to the disc needing to be circular, one being the overall shape of the disc and the other being that the inner rim needs to be circular.
Yea I would think it has to do with safety. That's kinda vague of a definition but maybe they didn't expect someone to make an octagon disc lol
Have you considered making the files available for others to print and experiment with?
Wait, do you have adjustable Glide disc??? Could I test one out???
I have one I am creating yes! Do not have them forsale yet!
“Disc” is defined as round. So that would probably “stop” any progress in approval.
I wonder if you could round the edges on the top side, yet keep the more squared rim walls on the bottom side. No idea what that would do flight wise, but it might be nice for the grip like he mentioned?
That's an interesting idea! Would get rid of some of the comfort but still supply above average in a few ways!
how heavy was it?
About 170!
I think I'm going crazy, before I found out about this disc, I saw it in my dream this is crazy
That is pretty wild!
Maybe put the parting line a bit higher for mor stability?
I could, I know about that but honestly don't know if it translates to 3D printing ! Have to do some research!
You're certainly dedicated to the lighter side of DG. How about a viewer tips and tricks segment in your course review episodes. As soon as you said your mission is to find a putter that works...I envisioned little hooks all around the rim...let's see that.."The Hooker"
And an extra overstable version, the "dirty hooker"
The whole point of a disc shaped this way is to stop Roll Aways, knowing that it can fly is nice but I think we could have guessed that much. Need to make this an approach or the main reason to have one, a putter. Looks like it has the flight of a putter anyway. At the very least try putting with it on a sloped green to see if it still rolls way the hell away.
That's a good point, could try to make one with a putter profile to test this! No need for the 8speed rim. Maybe a little gummy as well
Your videos are always a blast. Thank you for your dedication🦩
I appreciate that a lot, thank you!
Such a blast!
Glad you enjoyed it!
