@balance4724 remember that big knight with the Greatsword above the tower, that's one and the other Greatsword black knight is in the catacombs, humanity increases your item drop chance soo you might wanna have a bit more of them, but once you either buy or get a demon's greataxe from Taurus demons, trust me you'll never need anything else 👍

There are more Greatsword knights out there but these are the two locations I remember :)

The drake sword comment is fr best advice man. This weapon will carry you through 1/2 the game until you get enough titanite to make a better weapon. I did a strength build to carry a big ass shield with me to survive combos and safely circle enemies for back stabs.

The optimal is to keep it unlocked so you can move the cam freely and dodge properly, and locking it right before attacking so you don't have as big of a chance to miss the hit if you're bad. Then unlock again imediatly after your hit window endss to dodge again

These are all good tips. 1. There is an optional bonfire directly underneath the dragon, but you kinda already did most of that area for now - the suggestion above is to go in the opposite direction (towards where you met Solaire) 2. So many routes in the forest, save the butterfly for later and explore. And yes - the optional bonfire there is to the left of the magic door that’s for much later in the game. 3. Yup. The hub area contains multitudes (don’t need to fight the skelly again yet).

Hopefully ill adapt to this game where i wont get annoyed :)

Buy a bow and arrows from the merchant in Undead Parish. There’s a safe spot to snipe the dragons tail off. It will fly away once the tail gets shot off. I think it takes like 50 shots, the sword will automatically go in your inventory.

​​@@balance4724The shield is so fucking good, it's the Grass Crest Shield. You find it in the Darkroot Basin. How to get there: Close to the part where you found the first "plant man", you just go to the right, and there you are. Explore the area and you'll find it. The shield is close to a Black Knight. The Drake Sword is definetly not close to one of the strongest swords of the game (not bad early tho), if you pick it, it will only serve you for the early game. Idk if it's worth the hassle of getting it, depends on you. You will need to buy arrows (50 iirc) but buy more, since you'll miss some

​​@@AlecRifeThe Undead Merchant is on Undead Burg, close to the bonfire, hidden down on the part where there are 2 shield & spear hollows. Roll on the boxes to reveal the passage. You are not supposed to kill the dragon, you'll have a rough time. The safe place he is talking about (to cut his tail with bow & arrows), is on the part close to the rats, down the dragon bridge.

I must clarify this. The drake sword is fine from the red drake on the bridge. But it gets zero scaling. It's great early game but will become trash later.

@balance4724 np, try learning how to dodge some attacks without rolling (doesn't work on all attacks) and also when learning how to beat a boss try to survive for as long as possible before incorperating attacks. Hope this strategy works

@balance4724 Ive read some of the comments since and see youve been taking tips. My comment was rather harsh so let me tell you what I think you couldve done better instead of simply hating. 1: dont rush past everything. I think someone who played elden ring should get trough the game with relative ease, but you cannot just rush past all the enemies 2: you cant do a lot of attacks in a row, especially with such a big weapon. Take it slow. Youre doing a lot of damage. Getting one hit in at a time, you could probably beat the gargoyles in less than 5 minutes. You got too much of that elden ring aggressive stagger greed style gameplay (which works really well in ER, not so much in DS. Especially since theres no standardized stagger system like in ER). Or for the gargoyles, pop some souls, grind some hollows (honestly a run or two of the 3 hollow before Andre the blacksmith should suffice), buy some titanite from Andre and upgrade your Zwei to +5. You will literally 2-shot the gargs. 3: you already read this, but definetly bind jump to L3. Bloodborne is the only FromSoft game that you cant do this in to this date. 4: Use shields for an even easier time (though kinda boring and Im thinking you wont really need them) 5: like all from games, read item descriptions, listen closely to what npcs say to get a rough idea of what your goal is Honestly someone who beat ER should have no trouble with DS if they slow down.

It’s not a difficult boss, I just got to get used to the “stiffness” of the movement

The only problems I have with this game are with the design of stuff. The way I do stuff has worked for every other game.

​@@balance4724it's just different you'll get the hang of it. I went from dark souls into elden ring and they are very different games. But I'm enjoying both you just gotta treat them differently

Yeah it’s everything else seems just so much worse once you’ve played Elden ring.

@@balance4724 take it from me, as a nerd of these games you disliked dark souls 1 the same way people disliked ds2, you just ignored the enemies and they ganged you.
