There are 2 types of abnos - the ones that formed and existed naturally way before the events of the game, and all the others, that were made by L-corp Singularity. And yes, there are some abnormalities that existed by themselves from the long time ago. For example, all of the three birds, Nosferatu and, if i remember correctly, Plague Doctor. Anyway, i digress. When Cogito experiments began, one of the first abnormality made from human was Nothing There. The story of its creation was shown in Geburas story in Lob Corp. And judging by some other cut-scenes, it was also the first abno that Carmen extracted E.G.O. equipment, that was later gifted to Gebura. There are some counter arguments against this theory, like "how could they contain such a dangerous abno from the start", but it could be because of already existing abnos Ayin and Carmen collected before starting the human experementation. So the theory is somewhat sound. 38:00 - it's basically a theory that says Carmen is not in the right state of mind after the events of LC, so her actions and desires while coming from the pure heart, are still distorted and misguided. Some even theorizes that Limbus is going to be about finally stopping Carmen(because first game was about Ayin's salvation, second one - about Angela's, and Carmen is the only one remained from the "main cast" who never faced her troubles)
