I dream of a world devoid of excuse
For getting it done and being of use
If I don't know how, that I can find out
If I can't see the way, there are guides about
If I don't have the room, that I can make space
If I don't know where to start, that I find a place
If it takes more than one, that I can form a team
If it seems much to hard, that I'm stronger than I seem
I dream of a world where confidence is won
By learning to do it, by getting it done
I dream of a world where we all say "I can"
And all of us free, each woman and man
For getting it done and being of use

If I can't see the way, there are guides about
If I don't have the room, that I can make space

If it takes more than one, that I can form a team
If it seems much to hard, that I'm stronger than I seem

A brief walk through our DIY prototype of an air-conditioning system that eliminates the need for a compressor by using cool water from a ground loop. In this prototype we hooked it up to a different water source with cool water, measured the flow, measure the temperature of the water in and water out to calculate the BTU. We also measure the air temperature difference as well but not as useful...

Actually it was $9 for enough material for two holsters. The hour of work was from not having a design...hopefully you can get it done faster with this helper. Yes you can get these for $20 or $30 or so on the internet...but you can make this one faster than they can deliver it. Meh...and making things is fun. :) hope this helps you.

Throttle not engaging until half or quarter turn...and seems sticky? This video shows the cause of the issue and the quick but temporary fix. The throttle on my Ninja 300 not working correctly.
thank you thank you thank you you guided me to my problem with my 300. watch out for that kick stand relay to.
This video is helping but not with that stupid note on the screen!!
I suppose you will be wanting a refund. <grin> Glad it helped. :)
THANK YOU ARGHHHH! This absolutely killed 2 hours of my time
Ouch. In the end...replacement helped (of the plastic tube under the handgrip of the throttle.
@@BreakingBarriers2DIY it was just that little hole. Needed to drill one.
@@rtificial8292 OH!!! You replaced the handle bar. Got it! You are industrious. :)
Thanks to the tutorial, it helps alot, my Z300 is working again. It save me from buying another relay box.

MY 2013 NINJA HEADLIGHT ALSO NOT WORKING. i COULDN'T FIGURE OUT EITHER AND ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAVE IS THE BATTERY NOT CHARGING. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA AS TO WHAT WRONG WITH THIS. COULD THIS BE AN IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM?
My Stator (spins round on left side of motor...and acts like an alternator on a car to charge battery) was slowly becoming less effective and then finally it blew the rectifier and I had to replace both. What i experienced was going through a couple batteries because they weren't charging well. To diagnose the issue you are having, I recommend using a electronics tester. They are not too expensive as tools go...but if it's not your thing, you could borrow one...but borrow the person's expertise as well. That is where the real work is going to be. You will want to determine if the stator is putting out enough power to charge the battery. Take the seat off the bike and expose the battery terminals. Start the bike (use jumpers if dead battery) and measure the voltage between the cables attached to the battery. I should probably do a video to diagnose this as it is a bit easier to follow...but there are some available for similar motorcycles on UA-cam. I hope you locate the issue...and I hope it's not the stator...that was quite a job!
I have a Ninja 300, thanks for potentially useful info should problems arise
Refer to the diagram, at the "E area" connection is for Fan Relay which is 17,18,19 & 20............so my question, if the connection got problem, the radiator fans might not working rights?
I'm coming back to this from many months being away from it. Apologies that I might be speaking a bit inaccurately from memory. When I finally resolved the electrical problem...it wasn't really fixed...it was a workaround for the issue. The issue appeared to be that the power coming to the headlight relay...to trigger the headlight power...was not working. Instead of finding out what was wrong in the wiring harness...I "cheated" and simply took power from the fuel pump trigger. So...when the key turns on...the fuel pump is triggered...and I used that same fuel pump trigger to trigger the headlight relay. If you are focused particularly on the fan relay to diagnose a problem, I can only give some advice for solving: The relay has a "trigger" and a "load". The trigger will receive voltage from some part of the motorcycle under some condition. For the fan...I expect that is a temperature sensor. The "load" for powering the fan, will be connected by that relay when the trigger happens...and the fan will run. I'm worried I'm not answering your question...but I can only work with my memory and what I learned ...and hopefully the videos documented what I learned. I hope all goes well and your are able to solve the issue you are having. <3
Project management is very important.
it's all about them BTU's
My friend is an engineer and he is used to me getting excited about results that are...anecdotal?...he was so proud of me, (actually of my brother) when he saw that we didn't stop at "Wow that air feels cold" and RAN THE NUMBERS. LOL. Thank goodness my brother is there...keeping the engineers happy. ;)
Geothermal heating and cooling systems are great! The biggest reason people shy away from them is their initial costs. A well has to be drilled, major dirt excavated, or a deep body of water needs to be nearby. I paid the upfront cost and it's worth it. I live in South Louisiana.
Awesome! It's funny that me and my brother look at the "Excavator" and really really have a hard time considering it a "Cost". <GRIN> We both absolutely have and do pay for time to use an excavator at ANY excuse. My brother has some great ideas for our excavation plan...that really suit the property. It starts about a week from now. So excited...and yah...we still don't count it truly as an upfront cost...it's upfront...fun. <grin>
I did a redneck heat pump that uses some of you idea. Installed 1500 feet of black poly 3/4 pipe at 8' of depth that right at the dry seasons water table in my area. On wet years it only 4'. Then added a pump, small expansion / fill tank (all PVC) and relay hooked it to a water to air heat exchanger. Placed the heat exchanger in front of the condenser coils on a cheap low seer split AC unit. This reduced the energy usage of the AC unit by 40% by effectively removing more heat from the gas in the condenser with the use of cooler incoming are than the ambient air. Has been working for several years without issues. My house is solar powered and off the Grid.
At my brothers farm there is a rural water supply. The minimum water subscription is way over what he can use. He’s paying for water that he never uses. I’m thinking about doing something like this with tap water and letting the water go out to the trees or maybe a garden. Placing a radiator in the furnace beside the filter .
I’m in the same boat with a rural water co-op, always getting the minimum water bill. Be warned that you might be charged for usage on the sewer end (if you use sewer and not septic)
@@tylerwatt12 got a septic system out there. Have to look at the bill and make sure it’s a good idea before going forward.
I'm not sure how a rural water co-op works...but I've found city hall tends to win a lot. ;) If either of you like running excavators...the other parts are pretty cheap by comparison...farm has a lot of space for a ground loop. Tempting? :P I hope it goes well and you find a way to get what you are seeking without any conflict. Those things keep me from sleeping well. <3
For heating, you could add in a few peltier modules. Peltier modules are pretty crap for cooling, but for heat, they are still a solid state heat pump, and fleabay has premade 4 and 8 module kits with water blocks and heatsinks. Great match with solar.
Oh my...we are constantly distracted with conversations about our next project after the A/C...the heat pump. Neither of us have heard of the Peltier device! Looks like we've got lots of reading and UA-cam watching to get caught up. The cost of "Heat Pumps" that are water to water (best situation for us) is a bit...intimidating. :)
Wouldn't it be easier to just open the doors on the 5 refrigerators to cool down the garage? Here's an idea. Take one of them Honda radiators and stick it in one of those freezers, then drill 2 holes in the freezers for the feed and return hoses to your external honda radiators. This way the freezer coils won't ice up from the humidity in the air.
For best performance move the fridges outside.
linus tech tips did a video on this exact thing for computer cooling. It will work but there's a special built machine for the purpose, your gonna burn the fridge out otherwise.
@@daniellapain1576 ua-cam.com/video/yzqsD3K64MU/v-deo.html This vid may give some ideas. Not sure how the compressor can burn out if you have the super heat correct and oil level right.
LOL. I know the number of fridges and freezers is shocking. Funny story about them...the only fridges that have lasted (which is all of the ones you see here plus one) are more than 20 years old. These fridges and freezers that you see are regarded as a bit precious...as they do not die. As opposed to a number of new appliances that my brother and some relatives have purchased...and watched die. SO...the menagerie shall remain. They are...much loved. It HAS popped up on our project backlog discussions about the combat between these and the summer cooling...but we think the ground loop is the most fun and bang for our efforts.
Great video. I am so interested to see how it turns out!
Great! I think I'm going to have as much fun posting the videos as we go. Hopefully I get a little more sophisticated about it. I admire very many channels delivering some really awesome content...and I hope to emulate that. We'll keep them coming.
Great start, guys. Looking forward to watching the evolution of your initial design.
Thanks very encouraging. We have made changes to the design I want to show next...and then the commissioning and then the REAL numbers! :)
this is cool, good job!
hi I have same issue.. I will try it.. thank you
my radiator fan not running, all checked (fuse, temperature sensor and fan) all working, is it because of relay assy?
I don't have the wiring diagram with me to be sure...but one thing I might consider is that it might not turn on the fan until the bike reaches a temperature. I'll go out and start my son's bike to see if it runs from the get-go...one second
Hmmm...it is very difficult to see if the fan IS running. I just started my son's ninja300 and although I could not see the fan blades...I could not feel any air draw through the radiator. It might not turn on unless temperature of the coolant demands it...?
yes, refer to the diagram, Fan relay located at E area connection which is (17,18,19 & 20) , this relay will control radiator fans @@BreakingBarriers2DIY

Hello buddy, excellent effort. I have seen all of your videos multiple times for this issue and its a great achievement indeed :) I am going to do the same mod myself, BTW how is it holding now? And one question remains unanswered, if its not getting triggered by stator then do think stator is faulty but if its faulty how is it powering the bike and regulator rectifier. This is the only question remains in my head. I am facing one more issue other than headlight, the self motor was engaged even after starting the engine and got burnt. I came across similar video : ua-cam.com/video/Bz_ECaujHFw/v-deo.html Anyway thanks for the great effort, I am hoping it will solve my bike issue as well.
Awwww. It feels good to have someone benefit from the information...it feels bad to know that someone has to overcome this issue too! LOL. I have a bike that starts fine. Headlight comes on as soon as the key is in the on position (which was the intention). What I'm running into now is not electrical...or at least I don't think it is. It is a "whine" in the background...which I thought was the fan bearings...but is not. I think the starter is staying stuck in the fly wheel...which sounds like a mechanical problem...but I feel I perhaps have another issue to solve...what makes the starter disengage? It would be easier if I knew for sure it was the starter making the noise...meanwhile I ponder while waiting for warmer weather to dedicate a day to the issue. :)
Sorry to be re-reading this comment and noticed I missed answering something. The stator (and rectifier) had blown in the past...and I replaced them both...blew a rectifier doing it...or it was bad. The stator was going bad slowly (not charging battery fast enough...signals and other lights not working)...and then it just died completetly. Probably ruined a bit of my wiring harness when that happened and I have these compounding problems later. :). I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I bought a new bike...and this one is in my garage haunting me...taunting me. BUT 6 yrs and 60,000 km on a beginner bike is enough...new bike is...awesome. I need to do a video on that thing.
Watched this again for the manyth time. So cool. Accompanying comment not clear as to whether you acquired a son along with your m license or that your son acquired an m license at the same time as you 🤔😂😂
LOL yah that could be read both ways. :)
Very 😎! There was some explanation that assumed more background knowledge than I have but the overall concept came through 🤗 The sensor’s name has humorous potential 😂
kawasaki z750 2005 problem ecu
In my case ,the hight beams works perfectly (i means ,it turns on once i put the keys on and hit the start botton ,on the other side ,my low Beams wont turn on , so i can say that my relay box its got some falty relays , but that is not the end of the story ,a months ago ,my Kawasaki z1000 began to shows some weird sounds on relay box , and i was riding it ahead to home it rondomly dies in Middle of road , it couldn't start ,i had to wait for few hours and i try it again,Guess what ! It start ,fortunatly i reach home, in Next morning i try to start it again and it fire up right on time , i leave it idle for a few second it just died, i put the keys off and on ,i hear the butterflys sound but no fuel Pump sound ,its like the pump is being cutted from electrical sources....i was doing This for the next days till now, i got no solution ,could This be the relay box or ECU ......i Will be happy to read from your guys, sorry About my ingles, Im learning
Well you are showing good persistence in trying to solve the puzzle. It can be two separate puzzles as well. I'm curious how you could determine noises were coming from the relay box...but if that were happening to me, I would indeed consider it a bad electrical connection. The way to make a relay make noise is to rapidly connect and disconnect. It sounds like what would happen if a wire was connecting and disconnecting rapidly. If I were trying to figure this out...I would think back to the most recent change or damage on my bike that was near electrical connections.
The relay box itself cames with several relays for each electrical components , you already know ,so, The way that i determine where could be the possible issue ,its by tracing all problens related with electrical part, the first issue was gadgecluster , it wont turn on , sometime it just Blink couple time until goes off ,i could make it Blink again using water,i just wet some areas of the motorcycle ,i just pretend like Im washing it the gadgecluster seem to revive, the same happens with headlight, when the bike get washed the low Beams Start to flash until certain time , just to remember what i mention before ,the high Beams Turn on but no control stays on Forever until the keys its turned at off position,...other major issue that i use to determine the possible problem ,was Spark ignator ,sometimes the Spark doesn't work , rondomly fuel Pump dies at the sametime, no Spark to cause the ignition, thats wierd...could be the ECU,but when i joint all those suspicius behaviors it Take directly to the relay box , i would start it with no problems ,under 5min idling it dies , Pump cut off, i had to wait it to cool down to start again, some time it just cranks but no fire at all (no Spark ) , until i discharge the battery, i thought i was something getting hot and shut off the bike ,but wasnt the case ,even in the morning whn i turn it on i got no fuel Pump, harness checked .

Thanks @TomHanrath for the video. Was stuck for hours trying to make sense ast to why the two half shells are not clamping together, despite me assembling the throttle properly. At times I was even tempted to force it to clamp but then good sense prevailed and I came across your video on youtube. Had completely missed the locking hole on the handlebar. Thanks for your contribution.
Oh man I was headed that way too...this alone made this video worth while. Whew!
Can’t get this to work, no matter what I do when putting the initial plastic piece on the cable falls off again into the side groove. Can’t even put my throttle back together.
Sorry Ethan. It is indeed painful. I'm also not proud of the amateur video I put together those years ago. I eventually purchase a new "tube" (Plastic underneath the grip). For assistance with putting the throttle back together watch the video a few times...I had done it a number of times and ran into a few difficulties which I'm trying to help someone with. I live in Ontario, Canada...are you anywhere near me? Figuring likely not...try again and I hope your are near enough to home that you can deal with this slowly.
@@BreakingBarriers2DIY I was thinking of also purchasing a new throttle tube so I’m glad it seems I came to the right conclusion. I actually dropped it off at a local shop yesterday because I’m also having carb leak issues, so I figure they’ll fix both problems for me. Thanks for the reply!
My one is the exact same but mine even makes a cracking noise when on the gas. Any ideas?
Crackling noise...that is beyond me. The "tube" is teflon maybe scratched? The cable might be frayed in the area that I showed getting opened. Other than that...hope you were able to beat this one.
Dude what a piece of shit bike. It keeps happening to me
Thanks my man 👉🏼
Hi mate, thanks for the video, I have the exact same issue. Did you work out what was causing the issue or find a permanent fix?
I eventually bought a new "tube", the plastic which is the piece that the throttle cable winds around and it came with the grips already on it (whew...because they are painful to change without an air compressor). Now...it doesn't happen all the time. It only happens if i'm turning the throttle while taking weight on the handlebars...it used to happen all the time...and I think that was because the previous owner had it happen so many times the plastic was worn enough to make it happen easier. I hope this is making sense. New throttle tube...and then after you put that on...make sure not to take weight on the throttle while adjusting the throttle. This happens if I've slipped my front wheel into a small ditch or tough spot and I'm trying to back the bike out...or something where I'm wrestling with the weight of the bike while holding the handlebars. :) So it can still happen...but with a new tube it almost never happens. (Whew that was long winded. Sorry) There's you tube videos for replacing the tube...not bad...i did have to heat it just like the guy in the video <grin>. Hope you beat this.
Tom Hanrath thanks mate, looks like I’ll have to do the same. It’s bloody annoying taking it apart all the time.
All sorted now. Thanks mate you’re a legend!
