Incisional Hernia Symptoms and Treatment
Surgeon explains the causes, risks, symptoms and investigations of incisional hernia. These hernias occur at sites of weakness in the scar tissue in the abdomen. The risk is as high as 20% after an operation. The weakness allows a lump to protrude which gets bigger with time. It may then cause pain, discomfort and is prone to incarceration and strangulation. This video highlights all of the complexities including treatment.
The purpose of this video is informational only, there is no implication of treatment decision for individual patient.

When I touch it
The swelling is a little above the belly button but it's very painful
I have grade 3 and they are giving me PRRT.
"there is 0 research evidence" this is blatantly false. i tried to post a link but it got filtered, so i will just explain. they proved via ultrasound that people passed actual gall stones, not things made due to the mixture itself in the intestines. the research is referenced on the aafp site, issue 1998/0215/p785
03:46 - this is ignorant and dangerous half knowledge.. because the protocol states this: "The first 2 Epsom salt drinks act to dilate the bile ducts inside the liver. The olive oil and grapefruit drink will trigger a release of bile that had been saved up for over 24 hours. This large amount of bile will push the gallstones out of the bile ducts into the intestines" every single "debunking" video tries to scare people needlessly. how about you scare them via all the nasty side effects of no longer having a gallbladder? why dont you do that? it is equally bad. but that will bring you profit, this wont. shame on you.
hernia surgery is not neccery just get fit you will never see no one with a 6 pack have hernia doctors are evil do not believe them
False. I had an inguinal hernia and it went away. Don't know how or why , it just did.

I’m having pain the drive me crazy after 6 inch open cut on my left side and my right side. MRI showing no signs of Hernia. But the pain still there and is 24/7 pain it’s effects my whole life sex included and this pain going down to my testicular
I have gallstone but its never hurt in the right. Always hurt in the middle
Such a lucid and detailed explanation Thanks a lot doctor ❤ You got 1 more subscriber 😅
I had my gallbladder removed 3 days ago I’ve been so nauseous and vomiting I asked them for anti sickness medicine along with pain meds but they said to phone my doctor so I did and he gave it to me but I’m short of breath because my insides hurt I can barely move around without being lightheaded and exhausted and sore I am trying to eat and drink but struggling and have to sleep sitting up I was told I would be up and mobile and feeling better by day 3 and I’m feeling the same as I did after having the surgery and miserable they make me feel like a nuisance for asking for help so I’m scared to go back
I was only able to get the pain under control after I was given a belly binder. The compression along with ice and my meds were what I needed
@@Mirroj oh man that sounds rough hope you r better now
@@frosty818 thanks I am doing much better now. Same to you.
I have a stabbing pain n my left side and it's annoying, it affects my breathing.
I am experiencing severe burning groin pain directly after my c section. The surgeon said the mesh will dissolve. Should I wait to see if that lessens my pain in a month or so? I am nearly bedridden at this point so I’m desperate to find an answer faster than later.
Too bad I can't see through all the words🤦🏼♀️
This was so helpful and informative. Thank you.
This guy is doctor death talking. Says no natural remedies. Wow.
What if all of these areas hurt
I have 18mm gallstone and multiple calculi with no symptoms. Doctor advised to do surgery asap. Just confused whether to do surgery when its asymptomatic
How can one shrink an adenoma on the liver that is 13mm using medication and diet?
This video title is how to avoid surgery just to tell us in the middle of the video you cant avoid surgery 🤦🏻
I am a 8 year survivor. Very grateful
Treating hernia without a surgery is myth
I have carcinoid syndrome symptomes everyday now. Wondering if I have a chance as it seems to be really advanced.
I feel like i'm screwed. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.
For being a doctor no talk of bile or remove so of stones or bacteria
Good
I just learned, coincidentally from a CT scan, that I have some gall stones. There has never been a problem with associated symptoms. Thanks for this helpful and informative video.👍🏻
Hi doctor please help me here one of my family members gallbladder polyp or gallstones I literally need help cause doctor says we can't do surgery cause it's spread please help me it's literally urgent situation
I having urine rentation what I do please suggest
She didn’t have any tests to find markers. No one believed that she had a problem, for two years. She had an X-ray for another procedure where they found spots on her liver. Sent her for an MRI, then wouldn’t give her the results for two months. In that time the haemangioma was growing and in 6 months had doubled in size to 43cm. It was a nightmare.
So about 30 years ago, I began to formulate my method using breathing to strengthen the core torso muscles from the inside out. Stretching the abdomen is not part of my routine. Also nothing I teach in the video is dangerous, difficult. painful or harmful. What the video will teach you how to do is monitor and rewire your breathing habits and also teach you how to avoid the daily movements and exercise routines that were contributing factors in why hernias occur. Spine alignment and pelvis alignment while doing the exercises is key and contraction of the core muscles to strengthen the internal forces of support must happen using breathing as opposed to trying to pull your navel in. As you do the exercises you will learn how to move from center using breathing and at the same time it will help to rewire muscles that are offline and train your subconscious mind to do it for you. Hard to explain in words as it must happen by feeling and perception, but most of the muscular actions in our body are not under our conscious control. One can contribute to the subconscious of the forces that make it happen by focusing and engaging while breathing. vimeo.com/ondemand/yogalign
Sir rightful information
90% no consequences is not true.

Hello sir I had my gall bladder out in march2024 but now when I do a lot work of bending I feel pain internally? Is it normal?
Brilliant video! Thank you very much. There is so much pain when the sphincter closes after bowel movements that people cannot imagine... Nobody told me to keep my diet well before the operation, but I did it myself from common sense. However, I didn't take the stool softness which ended very bad 3 days after operation...
Superb video
Is it normal to still be so physically tired and drained 5 weeks after the surgery? I had my surgery done on 5/15/24. I can’t tell how the further out i get from surgery the more exhausted i am. I mean i slept all the time after surgery which is to be expected, but after 5 weeks… it’s bad enough that i’ll get dizzy and sway when i stand up or even when i’m walking, just randomly. I’m trying to make sure that i am eating foods that are healthy and not hurting my stomach after eating, cause some foods i can’t tolerate anymore. I’ve always been healthy and active. I’m a preprofessional ballet dancer. I’ve never felt this sluggish, except for when my insomnia was really really bad about a year ago. But we have that under control now. I haven’t taken classes since a little before my surgery cause i had wisdom teeth removed on 5/7/24. I need to get to where i don’t feel faint almost constantly. It gets in the way of normal activities of just moving around my house. I can only imagine what might happen when i start dancing slowly again in august…
For more info, i’m a 22 year old female, that has never stayed still well. I have always been doing something, soccer, dance, cheerleading. Always active. And per my surgeon i had strawberry gallbladder. I’ve also had side pain similar to the 5 months before my surgery since i was kid before we switched to more whole wheat foods, then it went away and came back on very very rare occasions.
Yes, this things happened with me?
Ganito po anak CHOLEDOCAL CYST..Sana po maging ok na po lahat 🙏🙏🙏
It's a privilege to witness this show I am also disabled and the reason for is the gallbladder and the performed surgery that saved my life.with this done I am still on medication and going about my calendar as if nothing changes accepting the handicap and God bless my everyday life as I receive it.
I just recently got an umbilical hernia lifting weights at the gym. Seeing that I’m not the type of person to just throw in the towel, I purchased a hernia belt. I wore it to the gym yesterday and I must say it worked wonderfully. I did read a post here about fasting. This makes total sense! I practice intermittent fasting 16/8 and have noticed a big difference in bowel pressure on the day or two that I don’t fast during the week. I’ll most likely ( eventually ) have surgery ( heading to Mexico for the summer ) but I’m not too worried about my hernia at the moment as there is no pain, discomfort, or discoloration. We’ll see after surfing every day for 6 weeks… that’ll be the true test 🏄🏼♂️🎣👋🏻
Why Mexico and not America?
@@boredfive3001 Firstly, I love Mexico ( and speak Spanish ) and have traveled extensively throughout the country for decades. Secondly, the surfing and saltwater fishing is incredible ( much better than the States ) and the consistency of the surf allows my wife , daughter, and I to surf every day! Plus, it’s not expensive.., The way we do Mexico for 6 weeks costs the same as 1 week in Hawaii or less! Finally, we have Xpat and Mexican friends that we hang out with, and, our daughter has a small group of girlfriends that she loves and can’t wait to see every year! Cheers 🍻
I tried using hernia belt but I was in great pain for 3-4 day discomfort.
Did you use a belt before or after surgery?
Great explanation. Great rebut to the claims that hernias can be repaired without surgery.
Lies about being able to fix it..once they're cut the tube too small their is no fixing it..ones life is over and it's downhill from their ..
this video didn’t teach me how to treat a hernia without surgery at all … didn’t even teach me how to reduce symptoms …. the video only told me facts about a hernia about what a hernia is. Lol
It wasn't designed to. No place recommends not getting surgery. They were more so explaining the what if and why it's not recommended but how it would THEORETICALLY work. Not that it would work and that's what you should do.
