My 2015 have holes om both sides its possible just need plug the wired?

Hey Jack. Thanks for your video. I have 05 Ram 2500. The vanity mirror doors on both sides have broken off. Odd because I rarely use them! Do you have a source for new mirror assemblies? Mine are Camel tan color.

Great video! Helps a lot! The factory L-bracket seems problematic with the Sport bumper. I have the factory L-brackets which has guide pins and it causes the hooks to be too low and rub against the lower part of the opening of the bumper. Your (Jack's) self-made L-bracket appears to allow the hook to sit higher in order to clear the bumper. The video helps me with the amount modify the factory bracket to fit the sport bumper. For people who have the factory L-bracket, you may need to modify it by lowering the holes and ignoring the guide pin or fabricating a new bracket like Jack's to bring the hook up by about 1/2 inch to fit without rubbing. Thanks for a very informative video!

It appears that there are two different kits available for the 4th Gen Rams (DT). Mopar part # 82214870AB is for model years 16-17 and is also the one that you should use for previous years as well. For 2018 the kit was updated to include a bed mounted switch, Mopar part # 82215795AC. These two kits will also work on the Ram 1500 Classic and Ram HD 2500, 3500 models up to the currant model year. There is also a 3rd kit available for the 5th Gen Ram 1500's (DS) 2019 up to the currant model year , Mopar part # 82215272AC.

Those screws at the bottom are like these unique 5 prong star bolts. So what tool did you use there to get through that?! I tried the 90deg nose pliers didn’t work

Thanks alot. its easer than it looks.. A suggestion, do a video show how to route the belt and replace the idler. The camera is on the wrong side and the view is obstructed most of the time., but its straightforward.

This is wrong. You leave about a 1/2 inch gap on the paint side, you don't tape right against the edge like you do in your house when painting trim etc. When you pull it away it will split perfectly right along and edge with no need of an exacto knife.

What about how the chrome attaches to the black piece of the door handle? Can't the chrome be separated from the other part of the handle?

You don’t necessarily need a breaker bar. Standard 3/8 drive ratchet wrench (not 1/4”) works just fine and easier to maneuver inside the tight space. FYI, it’s not a timing belt. ;)

Any idea what torque specs? Also noticed you didn’t use any loctite. Is it necessary? I just hand tightened as far as my strength allowed lol. I have no plans to put the hooks to use but rather be safe to know they’re secured tight, if ever needed.

I didn't see you use the upper striker plate. It wasn't needed?

does anyone with a 1500 know the correct pins to run the bed switch to, i have to C1 pin 5 wire correct but not sure where the secon wire goes as ive seen 2 different diagrams with different pins and not sure which is correct. the cargo lights work fine after activating with alpha obd with cab switch but cant figure the bed switch out.

If you want a bling looking cover, paint bright verticle stripes on the stock cover. A stock cover works better with oil flow than a flat cover. Unless the cover is really designed to cool, it does nothing. I put an OEM style MAX TOW Ram cover on my AAM 11.5, and its cooling fins are 4 inches and the whole cover has deep fins. It is rounded, and it directs oil flow properly in the pumpkin. Excess oil anount offered by those flat covers, promoted by the manufacturer as an advantage, just adds pararsitic drag, and heat from it being churned by the gears. So the dont coolt well, they churn up the oil making it wear out sooner, add parasitic drag so the mpg goes down. And they dont promote good oil flow to the outer bearings.

Good video, Dodge really cheaped out on these trucks sadly, every 4X4 use to come with hooks at one time.
