Yet every guy you ever meet who was active military would act like we were athletic peers. Let alone some actually thought they were superior. Note to self for guys in the military: you're "in shape" but that doesn't make you an athlete, which means you're great if you're going against an average guy, but you're toast if you're going against a high end athlete.

But when it came to the technical aspect of BJJ, he showed the separation between someone who is just learning versus a top level practitioner and pro fighter (Paddy is actually a 2nd degree bjj black belt). Hence the tap out of 10 consecutive marines.
