This played on one of the main monitors as your explored the queue-line museum at Star Trek The Experience in Las Vegas. My job as producer and director was to watch back every episode from every series as well as the movies and craft a montage of the best pulse-pounding moments. We then brought on a fantastic team to make it so. Enjoy! David de Vos

This was the first of many videos that we created for Star Trek The Expierence in Las Vegas. It played in the museum portion of the queue line. One of my jobs as producer and director was to watch back every episode of every series and create a cohesive narrative about the soul of Star Trek's missions. We then assemebled a great team to make it so. Hope you enjoy! David de Vos

Artificial Intelligence wrote my movie script - is CHAT GPT coming for my job?
This was pure magic for me, for years I resisted learning how it worked simply because I really didnt want to spoil the sheer OMG factor that is permanently etched in my memory from this experience. I am so glad I got the chance to experience this .. its something ill honestly remember forever and its wonderful.
I’m so glad you got to enjoy it. We sure had fun building it!
Riker looks so much better with a beard. No more baby face. Loved Next Generation. Was a big Data fan.
Agreed!
"Mr. Data, change that oil on the double! And Geordi, I want that transmission checked, top to bottom - Level 1 diagnostic!"
Right away Sir!
Does guy have any idea who he's talking to? That's Mr. Kinte if you wouldn't mind.
😃
The redhead Ensign in the gold uniform is Ensign Kellogg! Who’s often in the background of TNG/Voyager episodes, played by an actress called Cameron. She also appears in Generations and First Contact as the same character, nice continuity to have her cameo here!
Details matter!
several rehearsal takes and 7-8 real takes Riker delivered the same scene time after time..whats wrong with a couple rehearsals then nail it in the next take, no wonder this process takes along time...
If it were tv, we’d do 2 takes and move on. This was for a highly technical interactive attraction where eyelines and timings had to be exact. Add a nervous, first time director and a clash of producers and well, there you have it.
@@devosentertainment it is for tv ?, it was my understanding as you say 2 takes and move on..
I saw that race, as well as her debut in 1982. SO GOOD to see Dago Red without the tacky kelp "flames" painted on the white/yellow stripes. She always looked her best that way. Wish it were still flying. I was 22 when Dago appeared and 65 today. Great times in between!
Those were some amazing years!
I love the kinda clunky near-future proofing with "the 20th or 21st century"
I don’t think we ever changed it!
This was cool but I kept thinking: "I-I can't remember this episode" ........... then I read the video description: "Aaaaaaah" 😆😆😆
Welcome to the party pal! 😉
That klaxon...
Stuff of both dreams and nightmares
That’s a really bad angle, nerd
anyone know the tittle episode there. doing ?
It was for a Las Vegas Attraction
I wonder how theese actors directors feel about colorizing over darker.... if they aprove or not
Clan you be more specific? What do you mean by colorizing over darker …
love to see star trek voyager behind the scenes
I’ll see what I can find
Hey hes on the cover of that game "carl on duty: black cops"
🤣
0:46 Maybe I'm misreading the atmosphere here but Frakes is a little bit annoyed here. He's a bit like "Why do I have to do this?".
You’re not misreading it. Lol. He was a trooper though.
@@devosentertainment The way he looks at LeVar is funny: "Did you read this crap?", but LeVar wants no part of it and just wants to do his job. I guess its just the usual stress-related behaviour. All good. :)
Oh god...I don't think this aged well-
RIP Jimmy. One of the greatest guys to ever fly at Reno.
Really enjoying watching this actor work. Don't know what he got paid but whatever it was he was worth every penny.
Vaughn Dale Armstrong. Once of the nicest and most talented actors I’ve had the pleasure of directing!
That was the greatest thing growing up was vacationing in Vegas just for this experience
Glad you got to experience it!
BRING THIS BACK IN ORLANDO
Would love to!
I'm glad I didn't see these videos back when I was a super-fan of Star Trek. It would've made the show feel so hollow. Never peek behind the curtain.
Ever
Such an incredible attraction. Artistry and technology made real magic.
Thank you. Glad you got to experience it!
He should have hit the word klingons harder
👊
Should have been on the bluray
Agree!
Cognitive dissonance here.. love to see the finished article....but love/hate to see the reality!
It’s a bit discombobulating isn’t it?
This was such an amazing experience. To say this was Disney Level would be to short change this event. The actors were amazing. The sets were on-point. I felt like I was literally in the Star Trek universe. One of my trips, I even was in my Star Trek uniform and did the bridge photo of me in the Captain's chair. The best part was a few of the actors integrated my being in uniform as part of their dialogue... so you know it wasn't a completely rote performance being done for each showing. So many people are missing out on such a great show, especially with the resurgence of Trek shows. It is a shame that it only lasted 10 years. I believe I saw a recent video of someone getting into an area where the promenade was and it was still there... unused.
That’s super cool that you had a bespoke experience. How fun!

What's up with that Hawaii shirt worn by Jonathan Fraker??? 🤣He wants a holiday or something?
Pretty sure he just came from one
I got to experience this when I was a kid and it was by far one of the greatest memories I have with my father and brother. I even had a klingon tell me to die with honor on our reconnaissance mission. ❤ Thank you for being a part of these amazing memories.
Love it! Thanks for sharing. 🖖🏻
You must have loved it when Korath was the time-travel scientist in the Voyager finale.
Oh yeah. That was pretty awesome. Surreal really.
Just stumbled over these production made LCARS animations. Thanks a ton for sharing! Would really love to see more.
Glad you enjoyed. That’s all we have archived from the ride.
I wish we'd been able to watch the full video every time. I remember the "meat" of it with the air force guy the first time, but I think the 2-3 other times I went through, the TV was off. The other fun thing about all that was the Fremont Experience was doing the Area 51/UFO/Alien show that first time I was there, so it was pretty surreal and freaking awesome.
Yeah, operations didn’t always have everything running in the hall. At least it lives on!
14:14 Oh that's interesting. Did they switch that footage in when we hit 2000??
Great question! I honestly don’t remember.
Should have created: Star Trek the strip club !!!!!
Ha!
Too bad a wealthy Trek fan like the late Paul Allen, who purchased a lot of original Trek props, sets, costumes, models, etc, displayed in a traveling museum show, didn't purchase this attraction to keep it going, perhaps moving it to another permanent location. Similar to the standing Tos sets in Georgia built for Trek Continues or New York for the Phase 2 fanfilms. Both are still operating as museum attractions and fan film production
That woulda been awesome
Ridiculous that this wasn't maintained. Greatest Trek attraction, exhibit, ride. Ever. Of course over time, needs some updates, additions, changes to story, plot, but this was a Trekkers dream holodeck like experience. Visited 1998
Indeed. But Vegas as a whole failed in the “family friendly” attempt. This should have been the flagship attraction for Paramount’s theme parks, not a one off in an off-strip hotel. Regardless, we gave it our all building it and was heartbroken to see it die such an ugly death.
@@devosentertainment On point 👉 Ridiculous oversight by Trek IP owners, whoever that is at the moment 🙄 Head scratcher why Disney bought Star Wars. The Star Wars Universe is a dystopia, with the Empire/New Order/#NEXTEVILOVERLORDS constantly ruling the Galaxy. Not a place I want to live. The Trek Universe, at least Tos, tng eras, are where I want to live, occasional Klingon, Romulan, Dominion wars notwithstanding ;)
An outstanding actor on sitcoms and on movies. God bless you reginald veljohnson.
An absolute joy to work with too!
IM GLAD I WATCHED THIS BECAUSE I NOW KNOW I COULD NEVER DO IT. I DON'T HAVE THE PATIENCE.
The glamor of Hollywood! Hurry up and wait.
Riker likes Miami Style
He’s chill like that
Thanks to you guys, you are editing movies from good to bad. All the good comedies are edited to pg rating - and it fucking sucks!!
I think you give me more credit than I deserve, but I wish you the best
18:29 it’s very nice to see the orca boat from jaws still here (such a shame it was destroyed a few months later)
It was sad to see it deteriorate but awesome to have seen it while it was there!
@@devosentertainment they should have taken better care of it
Thank you !!
You’re welcome!
Thanks for this been looking for the how to for some time
👍
Making a TV series looks really tedious ;-)
It certainly can be. A lot of work for sure.
Went there in Summer 1998. What a great look that place had. The makeup on the Ferengi and the decor and the uniforms were all great. Wish I remembered the ride part better. I was burned out after a month of hard work on a project. I still have my oversized Quarks mug that I bought at the gift shop. It has one of the Rules of Aquisition on it- "Never begin negotiations on an empty stomach".
Glad you got to experience it!
Till i saw behind the scenes a few days ago. I couldn't figure out how they did the transporter effect. It was as if you been transported. Great job.
Thank you. An amazing effect by an amazing team!
