We've reached the two year mark of our button training! The talking continues with a lot of discussion about carrots, going outside, and being picked up. The cats get involved too, but they only care about the "Hungry" button! There are actually thousands of 'talking' dogs and cats (and a few other species). Researchers are trying to learn as much as they can about this new communication method...

Raven is very pretty too
Ver fat,clean And beautiful owlets
Why are two female's nesting right next to each other? What happened to them being territorial?
She's gorgeous ❤❤❤❤❤
So smart, adorable
I thought you're not supposed to use a food button because they will just hammer the thing.
I started training before there was any guidance. That guidance has now changed and they don't discourage using a food button anymore. If you watch some of my more recently videos you can see that my dogs use a lot more than the food buttons. Izzy asks to be picked up and Luna wants outside more than they ever want food! :)
Alright they've officially said "pick me up" and "carrot" so much someone made animated emojis for them??
What if they just meant "pick me up a carrot"
They love carrots. So adorable. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe.
Thank you! You too!
I started to train my dogs to use buttons. Hopefully one day they can do that many buttons!🥰 Your dogs are very cute!
Thank you-we think they are pretty cute too! That is so exciting that you are teaching your dogs! I hope the training is going well. You will find that they will have certain buttons they will use all the time and some they barely use. It will help you see what is important to them! Good luck!
never seen a dog that wants to be picked up that much before
Yes, Izzy is a very snuggly, needy dog! She cracks us up! :)
Thank you. They are adorable.
Thank YOU! We think they are pretty special!
I didn’t know you guys have a cat! I saw her/his ears for a few seconds 🐱 I just saw the videos of taco and Toby, awesome!
Yes, they learned to use the buttons simply by watching the dogs! I didn't actually think they could be trained but my dogs trained them! :)
@@dnrzooLunaandIzzyTalk what an amazing story 🥰 thanks for sharing!
So smart and fast with the buttons! 🥰
Yes! They talk all day long. It's kinda crazy in our house!

😀
All animals can understand speech it just depends on the intelligence of the individual animal and the owners ability to comprehend spiritual understanding. Bonds can be made and through that communication can be developed. It’s a real thing but people think they’re all animal experts and that animals can’t do that because there animals and that’s science. Open your brains up a little and experience life. Literally any wild animal can be communicated with either tamed or wild, but its a spiritual/ instinctive secret.
100% agree that all animals can communicate and us humans are just not very good at understanding it! In this case, it's like a second language for dogs that allows them to communicate in our language. It doesn't take away from their own language but helps build an even greater bond between humans and our pets. Both our dogs and both our cats use the buttons now (this video was from 2020). They love their button board and often lay next to it. Giving them the ability to better communicate their needs benefits both them and us!
@@dnrzooLunaandIzzyTalk that’s exactly it, and you were smart on how to utilize that and put the pieces in the puzzle. Now your pets lay next to it because it brings them comfort to know you all can be on the same page, you understood there’s a stronger sense behind all this, a lot of people would just make an excuse on why the buttons are working lacking animal fellowship.
what happens if it is 3 am and you are hearing buttons being pressed. and you are kind of mad that it woke you up. so you start to get up to go scold the puppy but all your animals are accounted for sleeping in the room with you .... 😮😜
Right?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
I have another beautiful litter related to Izzy and Luna. These Mini Aussies have been wonderful and I have had the breed for 12 years. So smart and so affectionate. Love them. My pups will be 8 weeks old this week and ready to go to their new homes. You have done such wonderful training.
Agree! They are amazing pups. Sweet, and smart!
Lol. Cat water. Pretty blunt there Izzy
Ha! Yes - she wants that cat disciplined!
Smart pup who snitches on the cat and requests punishment for the perceived bad behavior. But why are you spraying the cat with water? Maybe the cat just wants his own buttons.
Toby isn't phased by being sprayed. Maybe he does want his own set of buttons but he's never shown any interest in anything except the Hungry button. This video explains why the dogs may dislike him: ua-cam.com/video/kssWf1QbW3s/v-deo.html :)
Toby cracks me up. How unusual for a cat to do that in hogging the hungry button. Thank you.
Yes, he's a character. He knows the "Hungry" button is power! :)
💖
Thank you! <3
That dog looks so anxious and unsure of what you want her to do
I appreciate you watching and you concern for the dogs! I promise they are very happy, funny, cuddly dogs who love to use their button board. Here is a more recent video in case you are interested! ua-cam.com/video/PWO8U75zA1c/v-deo.html
They seem to be far more purposeful and less aggressively knocking the buttons off the tray over the last year. Quite confident and mature with the lingo! And I am guessing they still are not a fan of the poor cat?
You are correct that they have definitely improved their communication skills! Most times it is very direct and intentional. You are also correct that they still hate the cat who torments them!
Pleaseeee tell me where I can get these buttons
Of course! You can get the buttons on Amazon at the link below. There are also now buttons that are designed specifically for dogs and cats from Fluent.pet but they are a little more expensive. Thank you for watching! Happy Holidays!
They sure do like carrots lol
Our life revolves around carrots! Ha!
Carrots won't make a dog overweight correct? It sounds like a healthy snack for man or dogs!
@@robertlemaster7525 Carrots really can cause weight gain, especially at the amount they want, so we switched from baby carrots to carrot shreds!
@@dnrzooLunaandIzzyTalk your dogs seem super sweet (except when it comes to the cat) and they really seem to have a great handle on the language!
They look like they have mastered how to use the buttons. 👍 🥰My dog would only use the treats buttons though.🤣
It amazes me how far they have come. They are certainly focused on a couple important buttons - treat, carrot, and outside!
Genial👏👏👏👏
I love how they try and boss you into doing what they want. Bless. Thank you.

It's an obsession!

The love of carrots cracks me up!! 💖🐾💖
I had no idea that would be the most popular button. Too bad we can't get human kids to like carrots this much!
She wants a carrot as a treat? Healthy choice.
Yes, we try and give her healthy treats, although as much as she likes carrots, we have to restrict those sometimes too! :)
This is so cute! I have been watching Bunny with her buttons, but this is very cool. My guy is 12 years old, so I don't know about starting this with him, but my next dog I will. Maybe this guy will pick up a little. If I gave him an outside button, he would push it all day long!
Thank you - you are so kind! I have an 11 year old dog that refuses to use the buttons but knows what they all mean when the young ones press them. She’s too mature to use silly buttons! Luna’s favorite button is outside, and Izzy’s is carrot! It’s fascinating and fun!
Humans are hard of hearing? Outside please.
I promise that I do let them out, I just don’t always show that on the video!
I have a bunch of more recent videos on here that show us responding.
Outside please.
I know it may look like I don't respond, but that is just because I didn't include myself in the video. We do let them out as long as they didn't just come in. Sometimes the answer is later or not now. Just like kids, they can't always have what they want right at that moment. Plus, I'm not always in the room, or sometimes I'm working, or sometimes they just have to be told no more. However, they get responses enough that they continue to learn more and more buttons! Here is a more recent video that shows both dogs using the buttons, and some with me responding: ua-cam.com/video/eSWCeMgNhF8/v-deo.html
In 10 years the dog will be reciting shakespear! 😂
Ha! Yes, and they will be taking over the world!! :)
Why isn’t this viral, I own a German shepherd and this is the greatest thing I ever saw, I’ve always wondered as a kid that it would be so cool for animals to talk to us!!!
Awe - thank you - I'm so glad you enjoyed watching. It's truly amazing seeing how smart all these dogs are and what they are capable of. Since you have a German Shepherd you know how intelligent and thoughtful dogs can be. There are a couple dogs that use these buttons that have gone viral. You can look up Bunny the Talking Dog or go to www.hungerforwords.com where you can see the first person that tried this with her dog Stella. These dogs are very advanced. We are also now all involved in a research study through the University of California in San Diego to look at how dogs are learning to use the buttons. I can't wait to see the results.
The paw hover and stare seems to be quite a common thing with pets, or pressing the button very deliberately while looking in the eye. 🤣 They’re learning different kinds of body language with this communication technique.
That is so true! It's fascinating watching them learn an additional way to communicate.
💖🐾💖
:)
Ok. I take it back. I was wrong. I sat thru the rest. Very cute. And amazing!
It's really fascinating! I'm part of a study through the University of California, San Diego that is trying to determine whether they are really understanding the buttons they are using (theycantalk.org). We've been doing this for over a year, and it sure seems like they know what they are doing, but it is good to have a controlled study. There are more than a 1000 participants! There are even some cats using the buttons (our cats use the hungry button!). There are more videos on my channel if you want to see more, and a lot of other dogs that are also using the buttons. It's bizarre.
Carrot. More. Pick me up. Water. Carrot. Carrot. more. Oh my gosh I’m rolling! 🤣 I’d have to yell. “You. Are. Not. Getting. Any. More. Carrots!” hahaha Mom. Mom Mom. It’s just like having more kids. Lol!
Ha! Yes the carrot thing is a constant battle, but she usually wins. I've just learned to give her a few shredded carrots because dogs can actually get overweight eating too many carrots!! I do feel like I'm back in the toddler years....:)
This is amazing. Does she really know the vocabulary on these buttons? Or does she just like the way they sound?. I think I'd be running all over the place but if rhe dog hit a request I would do it right away so she knew exactly what it meant. She's hitting buttons and is being ignored. She might be thinking what's the point?
As you saw we do usually respond, even if sometimes the answer is no or not now. Just like toddlers, they can't always have everything they want, but this does not discourage them.
@@dnrzooLunaandIzzyTalk yr right. I feel silly. I didn't watch all the way to the end when I commented. She really does understand. How long does it take to train her? I grew up with Border Collies. Mirky had white feet and legs. He also had black dots all up and down his legs. We used to say "Hey Mirky Bones! You've got holes in yr socks!!!" And we didn't stand a chance. He was fast! My sister, brother, and I all went to school with holes in the cuffs of our jeans every day. My point? He knew darn well what we were saying. You have smart one there and cute💖. Border Collies are not for bored and boring people and it's so great that she can do this. She's so intelligent that she must be having a blast. Does it make yr life easier? Or does it take some of the fun of wondering? Either way you did it for her and that's pretty cool!😀
@@leecourtney9968 Border Collies are so incredibly smart. I've always been fascinated by them. They seem to understand so much about what we are doing and saying. Aussies are the closest I've ever come to a dog that smart. We got our first Aussie when we got married and the next one was a mini-Aussie. Once she passed we went to get another one and brought home these two sisters! They are so fun and smart. I decided to buy the buttons when we went on quarantine and the puppies were only 4 months old. I didn't really believe it would be much more than just another trick. Luna started using the treat and outside buttons within a couple weeks but Izzy had no interest in them. Luna continued to learn more and more buttons and then, 6 months later, Izzy suddenly started using the buttons as if she had been using them all along. We have an older dog (11 year old aussie mix) who never uses the buttons but knows what they mean. Sometimes it would seem random when they pushed a button, but over time we started tp realize it happens in the same context over and over. They will press "Outside" when the other dog is outside and wants in, or press "pick me up" when I am holding the other dog. They each have their favorite buttons - Luna's is Outside and Izzy's is Carrot. It's turned into so much more than I could have imagined. It's really fun and will be interesting to see what the research study shows (howtheytalk.org). It's really helpful because they don't scratch to go outside or bark to eat, they use their buttons to communicate these things. It can also be a little annoying though when they are pressing buttons over and over while I'm on a conference call! Ha! They've had to learn that just because they press a button, they don't always get what they want. We reinforce it in the beginning so they learn what the buttons mean but after that the answer is sometimes later or not now. It really is amazing being able to communicate with them this way. Dogs are so smart!
Once again. I enjoyed them. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
😂 oh gosh that is so funny. Does the cat know how to use those buttons and understand? Luna will teach your cat a thing or 2 😆 also where can we purchase these buttons from?
I know! I kept thinking it was random but then I started finding it on videos when I didn't even know it was happening. Both of our cats actually use the "hungry" button but it is in a separate location because they are weird and lay on the button and kick it rather than just press it with a paw. The larger buttons are available on Amazon - there is actually a kit or you can buy the buttons separately: www.amazon.com/Hunger-Words-Talking-Recordable-Multicolor/dp/B092DYHW2K/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=stella+talking+dog&qid=1628896268&sr=8-5 The smaller buttons are more expensive but specifically designed for this use and can be purchased at my affiliate link: clvr.pt/LunaIzzyTalk I try and post monthly videos and often put a cameo in there from our silly cat. The latest is here if you are interested: ua-cam.com/video/m4Rzu2zmNng/v-deo.html
