2018+ GL1800 Wind Deflectors Kuryakyn With Baker Built
Please subscribe if the video helps you out...and to my GL1500 fans I'll be doing more videos on the 1500 when I can.
This episode covers the upper & lower wind deflectors for 2018 to current Goldwing GL1800. I paired up the Kuryakyn Lowers with the Baker Built uppers because I did not like the Baker Built lowers...the shape was too boxy for the lines on this bike. However, the Kuryakyns were in the way of the Baker Built install so it became a custom job. Below are the links to the deflectors.

Failing Chimney...Why and how to fix it
I'm at top volume on my phone and I still can't hear a word you're saying.
How about a wire brush as a wand?
15:20 that's exactly what i came here for haha. Was trying the same thing and it wasnt working. Guess ill try harder
One thing I wish you would talk louder cuz people can't hear you
You need to wrap the flue with a sill foam. So you can get expansion gap, otherwise your crown will crack again .
It's a lot easier to understand when proper terminology is used and we don't mix terms. The cap is something different. This is a crown.
Not enough pitch. Should be a bond-break at the flue.
You need to fire Your camera man!
Thank you for the video. I couldn’t tell when you pulled out the pump, was that hose connected to the inlet right inside the tank?
I dont blame you give them hell. Subway about the same outrageous prices. Best deal is the mto Sheetz. You can get full size 2 sub sandwiches a bag of chip and drink for the price of one Subway sub. And they dont even say thankyou when you walk out of Subway. Not worth it
I've seen others put an expansion joint around the flu, remove it after the cement dries, and finish with high temp silicone. The cap will always cover this, but what are your thoughts on an expansion gap around the flu?
Yo fix your smoke alarm
Your videos suck and you're gay
It's obvious how stupid you are. It's bigger than other sandwich shops, you're talking about 2 separate sandwiches costing 20 dollars in this economy where everything costs that. The taste of it is subject to store and the person who made it, but you're complaining about nothing. Maybe try graduating high school first before posting a video.
I have a question. Love your videos BTW, I really need them to work on my GL1500SE. On one side of my 97 carburetor (not sure right now if it's front or back, there are vacuum hoses with a different kind of T fitting. You'll know which ones because they have a 6 or 9 on the hoses. The T fitting is two of one size and one of another. The smaller of the three broke off. I can try to locate a replacement but my question is there seems to be an opening in the middle of it and it's shaped like a square or box. It doesn't seem right at all with the opening if they are vacuum hoses. Unless I'm missing something, what is going on here? The part I need to buy is HONDA OEM T JOINT | 17194-MT2-000 if you want to see one.
Update: Turns out it's just a drain line. Fabricating a new piece to replace the old one.
Awesome Video... THANK YOU!!
It’s a very successful work, but you didn’t say which material you used, do you have a chance to write the material you used, thank you
Please be careful with lemon juice/acid and parts out of aluminum. lemon acid will destroy your aluminum parts if you take too much time. Better using something else…
Quick question, would have a video on how to access the rear master cylinder? ie Removal of all components to be able to caccess the rear cylinder. thanks!
Just saw the series of disassemble vids. will watch those.
I just got a 88 gl1500 and it as the bypass done like the end of the video. My bike has a high idle and mileage kinda sucks I’m assuming this is why.
Safety Squintz on point
How would l change the shocks on a 1997 GL1500? I don't have a lift.
I have. 1995. GL1500. I have the problem. I just don’t want to show you the video and you tell me what do you think?
Thank you!
My side panel flew off on my 1998 goldwing. Do anyone know where I can find a replacement???
Good vids no messing around, to the point. Sometimes the camera shot does not show what both hands are doing which means guessing by the viewer. Back on a 1995 GW and sidecar, its fun finding out and remembering at 72 years of age; not ridden since mid 20s.
so the rear master is the same part across all GL1500 years right? really appreciate including the bit about cruise switch adjustment, had no idea that existed. gonna have to check one of my wings, cruise never worked but the manual switch is good.
Yes, that part is the same all across the board. The only difference is in the 88 to 2000 is I believe 88 through 90 had additional vacuum components because they had one more vacuum system than the rest. Other than that I think the only difference is our minor accessories and looks
@@Sleazy_rida ah cool good to know thanks. working on a '90 with zero rear brake even after flushing. might try flushing the front left line too but I figure the master seal must be totally shot for it to have no response whatsoever.
The plunger on the foot pedal master cylinder is gummed up with old brake fluid probably. You're going to have to pull it out and clean it up
@@Sleazy_rida I ordered a rebuild kit. even if it were gummed up it would still make a little pressure, right? the only force against the pedal is the spring and there's zero braking force front or back, pads are fine and slaves aren't leaking. gotta be a rolled or destroyed plunger seal right? I can't think of anything else unless the front left line is mostly air
Ok I’m assuming your not interested. Thank you anyway .
Did you hold the stone off the porch at all or did you set it right in the concrete?
Depends on the application. That one is under a roof so I put it right on the porch stone, if it's going to get moisture then I put a weep screed at the bottom
Are you in Pennsylvania ? If so are you interested in getting a 1996 aspencade running
What's wrong with it?
Yes I am a little bit above Philadelphia and a town called Lansdale
I haven’t started it in about 10 years so it probably needs carburetors cleaned out maybe the fuel tank clean not sure about anything else probably tires
It ran perfect when I parked it I hurt my back had several surgeries now want to ride it again
Great not far at all
Very helpful to a Goldwing newbie like me, riding again after 40 years plus =) Been trying to fit showchrome, not as easy as they make it sound for sure. Keep up the great vids, i appreciate the time you spend to help us. Another Goldie in the background =)
Keep up the good work and thanks for shooting us straight. I’m redoing a 1978 Yamaha xs650 as a surprise gift for my daughter when she graduates college. Keep the videos coming…any topic…the more random, the better. Joe from South Jersey.
Use gloves next time we need you
Masons are smart🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
Mine runs 2k rpm and higher zero misses it has a low rpm miss guessing pilot jet is plugged on one of them
Hello, After you cap off your chimney with the metal sheet, can you cover the whole thing with concrete and then add primer and paint it, then use henry tropi-cool 100 % silicone for top off everything?
I don't use any of that material, I could not answer that question for you
You do not use that materials because its costly.
@@johnb9710 I do not use that material because if you do the masonry right you don't need that material. I am a Mason so I use cementitious material
👍🏻🍻
Dude, I'm not going to give your review too much credibility because you sound like a total Jerkoff. Your time-line doesn't make sense and by the look of your operation, I'm going to assume you took your selection of pliers and chisels and fucked the carbs up on your own. I quickly glanced at your other motorcycle related videos and rest my case 😂
My muffler is stuck tight where the clamp was. Any tips for getting it loose? I hit it with a rubber mallet but it didn’t help. Thanks for the video’s.
It takes a list of twisting and tapping to get that one out
Thank you!!!
Great job on explanation of installation, up in cold snowy Canada. Would i follow your same practice ? should i be concerned about freeze thaw with no mortar in between blocks if water or snow gets between. feeling confident after watching your vid.
If the roof doesn't have an overhang to keep the water off of it you might want to be concerned... Other than that if you're just concerned about while you're laying you can use an accelerator in the mix. I don't know who would carry it up there but you're masonry yard should have it on hand.
Wow. Unbelievable. None of those parts were replaced. Seems like he ran seafoam through it and called it a day. I have rebuild several carburetors and I am not a professional, none of that is rebuilt. My buddy just picked up a carb from him after charging 350 for a carb cleaning. Then the bike started sputtering out giving trouble and he took it back and then charged another 300. He told him he won't ever be using him again. Everything you showed is proof of negligence. Good luck hopefully someone gives you better service.
This video is HUGE for me. I have a collector box that basically broke (my fault -- I was trying to carefully move the muffler exhaust pipe on the right side, to shift it down out of the way when I was trying to get at the bolt for the Final Drive oil change... Pushed too hard and whoops! Snapped the collector box. DARN!!!! (Insert several swear words here...!) Thankfully I have a cadaver bike as well but I was stumped on how to get the collector box down without necessarily having to take the entire exhaust system down. Unfortunately, watching your video clarified that indeed the whole thing will have to come down; but -- #1 now I know; #2 I know what else is needed (exhaust pipe gaskets!, etc) to do the job correctly. Yup, more time wrenching, but I'll have this bike good as new when I'm done with it and hopefully will keep it on the roads for several more years with a little TLC. Thanks for taking the time to put this together for us weekend warriors! :-) Sure do appreciate it!
You are welcome guy!
My experience with taking off plate metal off base metals & dissolving metals at the molecular level, was more successful than what I thought. You really don't need any specialized equipment & all the things what you will need to improvise, will be at home. Once you know how to do it, you realise how simple it is to do.
Can you please teach me?
@@sitnstill4now search on Google & UA-cam, that's how I learnt about it🙂👍
Hey bud, do you have por can you lake a video on the vacum hose? I puedes my carb out and dont know were they go...
I can't understand the way you wrote that but I would use the vacuum hose diagram in the full service manual
@@Sleazy_rida I dont have it..
So what all is involved if I'm just installing those Bakerbuilt wings with no lowers?
Same process but less guessing where to drill the hole... The instructions that come with it are pretty good
Ok, I'll probably tackle it tomorrow and thanks!🤙
Great video thx. Just to recap, bleach takes forever but it won't pit the metal under the chrome, right ?
It will destroy the metal
Use the bleach if it's plastic underneath
Comes off real nice leaves you with a nice naked piece of plastic
are you a 1/2 '' above your brick with your first 2x4
It's really situational I'm not sure what I did in that video but if you don't have to meet a certain height it's nicer to put it a half inch below the brick this way it serves as a drip edge because the water can't go back up and in when it rolls off
Half inch below if possible... But sometimes you have to adjust
Do you have a p/n for that pump, or will any honda low pressure fuel pump work
I don't have the part number on me but if you go on partzilla you can pull it up easy through your make and model
Why is it necessary to have 2 fuel shutoffs ?
I don't know what you mean by the second one but the petcock is just a safety feature. You can run the bike without it by bypassing
