You done one of the best jobs applying raptor that i found on yourtube!!! i cam across your video looking for someone peeling tape to get a idea of what kind of tape line it leaves, an no one has showed peeling tape accept you n id like to thank you for doing so, it sold me on raptorlining my truck, i cant thank you enough!!!
@@phillip-cl8bk thanks, prep is everything. 95% prep, 5% lining

Looks good!
Looks good! How did it hold up?
@@PERSISTENTxMF still looks Great
Really impressive work man 👍🏻
How is it after 3 years now
@@AgentBrownMusic it's been five years and there some peeling on the roof near the edge I probably didn't prep very well and some other minor crease areas. It's sat in the sun the whole time.
Nice job
Just an observation. Why tape the blade only? Look at the marks on the bolsters. Yes they are buffed out but some are deep and it's work to get them off. Tape the bolsters!! Shakes my head.
@@mrdillon7655 try it and let me know how that works for you.
I have done it and do it, that's why I recommended it. It works out fine. Less buffing if any is needed at all. Was a tip, not a slam.
How had this held up over time?
@@gogetter3303 still looks good, there are a few small areas that have peeled up (crease and crack areas) but it sits in the sun so 5 years later I'm satisfied.
I did this to my 88 Chevy Silverado. Try backing way up to 8-10’ and doing a very fine coat for the last 2-3 bottles. It looks amazing and I actually really like it
Don't know why anyone would dog in raptor. It's by far the best diy bed liner on the market.
Looks pretty good spiney !
Looks good 👍
Ok you did a great job on your truck and it is beautiful compared to what you started with. I like the fact you took the time to paint the trim as well. Please hit those rims and wheels with a polish product to bring it all up to date. I'm considering this finish for my 01 Chevy Tahoe. Yes I'm a girl so I do girly stuff. So, what do you think about the Candy Apple Red color with a Red glitter spray finish? I would go thin coat on the glitter though. I missed the part where you said how much product you purchased and how much you actually used. I plan to buy 1-2 qt red paint to add to the rapture mix then I found the red glitter in the spray can form. All Rust-Oleum products so it has primer and paint already in it. Oh, did you go into painting the truck bed as well? That would look really good done in black. Hope to hear back from you with any comments, tips or tricks you would like to pass on. Thanks for the video!
@@robertaclark1233 I used 2.75 Oz's of paint per bottle, but if I were to do it again I would have used 3 or 4 oz as the raptor liner really lightens up. Consider using the raptor liner pouch colors you can buy. It's holding up really well except in some of the body lines and creases where it was difficult to sand, it's not bad but it still is an issue. Use the upol adhesive promoter liberally on those areas. Fortunately, the bed was line-xed previously. Check out some of my newer posts. I'm running 33s with black rims.
@@rushtonworks9186 thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate the information. I will definitely check out your up to date pictures.
Was that red rustolium you used ???
@@adventureswiththegaut1718 no, OEM red for dodge. It lightens when you mix it
@rushtonworks9186 ohhh 10-4 so basically just go into automotive paint store get the paint I need and mix it with the raptor liner?
@@adventureswiththegaut1718 yes, but remember the liner will lighten the color so consider carefully how much paint you add, or you buy pouches of paint color that raptor liner makes
@rushtonworks9186 I understand thank you vary much for the information. I can't make up my mind if I wana do the raptor liner or tremclad/Rustolium gloss white for myr 1999 f250 superduty

Good Job 👍🏾👏🏾🎉
Hopefully you put some air in those tires. 😂
@@NunYa953 have 33s now
How has it held up? I'm starting to lose my clear coat on my 03 3500 and have always been curious on a liner paint job. Is the color still good? Is there color restorations you gotta do periodically?
@@LegendaryPkl been five years, it's still the same color and it sits the under the sun. There are a couple places where it's chipped off or peeling, where there are seams, where could have prepped better
I like it
I've seen someone spray the bed liner then use house paint with a roller to paint the desired color it turned out ok not sure about the paint method over the liner but hay if it works worth a try
Looks great
Doing mine black again tomorrow. Will be 7yrs ago to the date I did mine. Have a 89 jeep Cherokee that hit a deer a year ago and was getting some rust on the rocker and bottom door panels that needed to be fixed before it fixed me. Needed a fresh review and you were the guy I watched. Nice job. Hope mine comes out like yours. 👍
The more I see these Raptor paint jobs the more I am leaning toward one. Great job.
Prep is everything, sand every nook and cranny
No need to peen main pin.If you cut it in half, you will have a backup piece.Just sand main pin until it reaches both sides of brass liners
Clean
How has it help up to this point ?
It's been almost 5 years sitting in the sun and it's peeling just in a few places, like the corner of the passenger window and on the roof on the left side. These are places difficult to prep but a must. All in all it's held up well. I may do some area touch up and a light spray over this summer.
Is there a reason you didn’t raptor line your bumper?
Too much of a good thing. I didn't raptor line the fender flares either. To me it makes it look more professional and detailed.
Does this come red ? I'm confused on how to get mine a different color when all I can find is that it comes in black.
It comes in black but it also comes untinted where you can add color packets by the same company or you can mix in any color paint you buy separately.
What type of foam is this? Great video!
Have you rescaled a Buck 110 Auto? Or any plans to do so? Thanks love your work!
Thanks, I own two but I'm not brave enough lol
@@rushtonworks9186 I bought some awesome bone scales, but I’d like to see if anyone has done one. I’m thinking it’s about the same as non auto 110’s except the push button.
Excellent Craftmanship!
That looks amazing! I’m considering doing my 99 Dodge in the same color, so it seems to wash just fine if you get it muddy?
Yes, but where the manifold exhaust is you have to scrub a little more
First off… great videos and instructions and attention to details. I’m fixing to do the same… if I can correctly get my factory trim off and cleaned up properly. It looks like I have the same lettering. Mine are kind of a matte black in color, I have the tabs on back I have to cut off. Mines got a fully covered adhesive backing but not necessarily 3m. ( don’t know how it will hold up ). My question for you is …. Did yours originally come with an adhesive backing or were they just the plastic ridges I see in your video. Thank you in advance
Looks sick!
Your RAM looks beautiful! Good work!
GREAT JOB YOUR TRUCK LOOKS REALLY GOOD
My dad is restoring one of these. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏼
You bet, still looks great with raptor liner. I touch it up with Rust-Oleum ink black which is dark gray
Hi nice job how many cans you use
Plan on 8 bottles
i wouldn't have done it this way ?! i woold have kept the wooden pieces
wonder if anyone has clear coated over liner to get some gloss back.
I have some peeling on the roof (out of sight) I tried to spray clear coat, hoping to protect it until I redo that section and it turned white. Spring project for sure.
Turned out really good!
