Baseboards and shelves turned out great. Did you use caulk or wood putty to fill the nail holes?
Baseboards and shelves turned out Fantastic!
Trim turned out great. Nice clean look!
Thank you, I think so too!
Barter is beautiful and the oldest exchange method!
It certainly is and it benefits everyone
The floors and door trim look great. You know you're about done when the trim gets installed!
Getting closer and closer and the trim sure is motivating to do as well
Cool way to get some meat!
Bartering is a great way to work with your neighbors
Looks like your doing it all by yourself. People can hate but it was a good effort!
Thank you. It was a humorous mistake to me, but I did manage to get it done all on me own.
The ingenuity was there for sure 😂@@RedemptionRoad
What a fantastic change! It's a tedious job, but man what a difference. Great work there buddy!
Thank you very much. A lot of work but it was a if transformation
Nicely done with all the vinyl floor cuts/transitions. I hope one of the tools in your arsenal is a good back massager.
Thank you! It was a lot of work but turned out great. No luck on the back message lol
Flooring turned out Fantastic! I bet your back is happy that this task is complete!!
Thank you! Not a project I care to take on again anytime soon
I stayed in the lines!
You did great!
Ahh the little things in life like central heat and AC. Will you be posting a video of the AC install?
I had planned to film the AC install but ended up cutting my hand during it and was getting stitches and forgot to film it
Nice work. The floors are looking good. What did you use to cut the planks?
Thank you. I used a miter saw and jig saw to do all my cuts. They make a special cutter but I couldn’t justify the cost
Floors turned out Fantastic! That flooring can definitely be challenging.
Yea, there's a learning curve to laying LVP with efficiency. I redid our house in 2006 with all LVP, and while it was simple, it took me a week of 'after work' work. It looks amazing! Great job!
There certainly was a learning curve, especially with room transitions. Overall I am pleased with how it is turning out. Thanks for your constant support as well, it keeps me motivated
::thumbs up:: Who's the artist of the song @8:40 ???
Love watching the videos of your build. You guys know that house inside and out!
We certainly love the support! The good thing about it is that I do know every inch and every system.
Man, you're coming along great! Before you know it you'll be sipping coffee in front of that huge window wall in the dead of winter watching the snow fall. Great work!
Farm sink and counter tops look fantastic! I didn't know Colleen had the moves for a victory dance 😂
Love the color contrast between the cabinets and tops. It pays off to shop around and not settle on the first quote you get.
Great looking sink and countertops! You made the right decision in not paying $11,000 for countertops, the Home Depot tops look great at half the price!
Where are your rocks??😅
We had a lot of rocks as this is an old glacier bed. Most were about the size of softballs but had a few big ones. Plan on building an outside BBQ with them in the future
Nice looking fan. Good job fighting through the vertigo to install it!
Great looking fan! You made it look easy!
Thank you! It really was tough to do off the ladder
Good job monkey man
Now that's a big fan! Kudos on the installation 👍
Thankfully it’s the last of the high ladder work too
don't need your preaching.
Then don’t watch
You’re a dweeb lol
I just finished a fireplace . Not quite as big but close . Yours looks great . I’ve learned a few lessons . Paint the surface black . Buy the corners ….so much easier . Don’t get creative…follow.the pattern ….The set pattern unless you have a million extra hours . Wears dusk mask …cut outside if house is unfinished . Use a level . Did you use fire rated blocks ?
All great lessons I learned as I progressed. I love working with the stuff. I did use fire rated bricks as I just felt it a safer route to go. Congratulations on your project
@@RedemptionRoad thanks…..the fire rated has a code distance for how close it can be to heat source….havent quite found a straight answer on that yet . I have seen guys use a heat shield behind the stove though .
@@smgriI am running e pellet stove and it is set 9” from the evolve stone.
@@RedemptionRoad cool…so I’m assuming no melting issues . I might have get some fire rated for the actual stone surrounding the fireplace . Anyway …nice job…looks great ! At the top of mine I used the ledge stones …kind of gave it a nice finished look .
I've never understood where the lateral stability comes from with those trusses. Looks like you sneeze and they just domino down. Even with all the sheeting I know that helps but still looks like a big gust of wind and a bunch of snow piled on top would topple the whole roof. Cool project though. Can 't wait to make it through the rest of the videos.
I totally understand and thought the same thing. There are a lot of cross bracing and rat runs that tie them all together on top of the sheeting. The truss manufacturers send a plan for bracing with the trusses.
This is like the only video on youtube for a pony wall. thanks - Im doing this next week for my house!. Only question to anyone who knows. for the pressure treated bottom board, what are you using to secure it to the concrete footing?
Thank you! To secure the walls to the footer, I drilled the holes and the placed Horiznext 5/8" x 6" Wedge Anchor, for Cement and Concrete only, zinc-Plated Carbon Steel Screws and lag Bolts. Hope that helps
@@RedemptionRoad thats awesome. Thanks for the ti!! Last question! How far apart are each upright(s) on the pony wall? Is there standard spacing? Thanks buddy
I placed my uprights 16 inches on center with a double top plate. Gives more structure as they are load bearing. Feel free to ask me anything as you progress as I am happy to share what I learned
@@RedemptionRoad you are awesome. I really appreciate it. I’m taking this on solo so I might take you up on the offer. Thanks again !
Once you got Max to help things went together smoothly,
He is a slave driver for sure
Turned out great. Will you trim the large group of windows in the living room?
Thank you. I am not trimming out the big windows as it wouldn’t look that great.
Casings turned out great! Glad to see that Max was finally able to fulfill his supervisory role 👍
Thank you, that was a fun project to do as well. Max thinks he is a CEO lol
Great job!
Thank you!
Doors turned out great 👍 Nice idea with the jig! I really enjoyed Max's contribution to the audio 😂
Thanks! 👍 I was really happy with how they turned out. Max is the supervisor or the Dog-mah- hall
Doors and hardware = just a few more tasks until move in!
I like the 3 panel doors - I have not seen this style before now. Also like the door hardware, it's very modern looking.
Thank you. My wife is going for a rustic farmhouse look so the doors fit. Mixed medium with the door hardware
Doors and hardware look great! My 2nd favorite thing to do after toilets 😂
Oh you are the toilet master. I should call you when I am ready lol
Snifari 😂
gl brother.
The stone looks great on the fireplace!
Thank you very much
One of the benefits of learning many of the things that we never use is that it develops neural structures that are useful in helping us overcome other problems in other fields, including construction.
So very true. This entire project is a mental challenge
Man, doors... the bane of my existence. I've never struggled so hard with anything other than a simple door. LOL! Great job!
Thank you! Ya, this was one of my toughest obstacles so far but thankfully I figured it out
There is one thing you can count on for sure during a DIY project. You will have to make some sort of adjustment. Good to see your helper give you time to enjoy the insectarium. 🦋 🐞 🐛
Resourceful, knowing how to punt is a gift.
Knowing when to punt odd a huge advantage
What a pain but a Great save! Having seen your work personally you are doing a topnotch job! Adaptation is definitely the key to survival 👍
Adapt or die trying! Thank you for the encouragement
Are you guys in Washington state?
We are in NW Montana, about 3 hours from Spokane
Beautiful place
When the fruit of your labor turns into a beautiful home, gratifying. ❤
It looks really good. May I ask how much the stone per case?
I paid $214 per box, which covers 14.75 sq ft. I used a total of 10 boxes for the fireplace
@RedemptionRoad cheaper than the real thing.
@@NotTelling51 way cheaper and a lot less weight on the floor.
Were the cabinets made strong is that a particle board in back or solid wood or plywood?
The cabinets are well built, no particle board in them at all. They are quality cabinets
