    So , the dark color would represent the main color and the light color would be the contrasting color, correct? I’m working on a project where I change yarns every eight rows. I’m having a problem at the end of the row with the first color change when the past contrasting color becomes the main color. I’m getting to the end of the row and I’m confused because the yarn isn’t ending up where it needs to be.

    Love your video. Is there a way to take any chart and turn it into a slip mosaic knit pattern?

    • @handsonknittingcenter1294
      @handsonknittingcenter1294 10 місяців тому

      No all charts will work with Mosaic. You need to think about the motif with 4 rows at a time. When you are working with the C2, you have to have a C1 stitch to slip in order to maintain the lines of the motif. My best recommendation is to chart the motif you want then double the number of rows and add the slip stitches. If you come across a spot that has to have a stitch and does not, see if you can make an adjustment. Also, Barbara Walker has a fabulous book on Mosaic. And her Treasury books all have mosaic motifs. Have fun with it!

      Hi Riley, there are a couple of things that come to mind. 1, is your marker migrating? 2, are you noticing a decrease in the number of stitches? 3, are you noticing that you are no longer in a 1x1 rib? If you can, we have free drop in help every Tuesday at 2:00 pacific on zoom. Go to www.handsonknittingcenter.com and click on the calendar. If you are in a different country and or that time will not work, let me know and we can find a time. Molly

    • @handsonknittingcenter1294

    Whenever I knit the slip slip knit, my sts are always loose, so I have to slip as if to purl

    • @handsonknittingcenter1294
      @handsonknittingcenter1294 Рік тому

      When you slip as if to purl you are twisting the stitches - hence they appear smaller. If you work the stitches on the tips of the needle rather than the shaft they will look better. And I really like the look of slipping the first stitch knitwise and the second purlwise so the twisted and smaller stitch hides under the top stitch. But bottom line - it is your knitting so do your own thing and knit happy!
