i'm with avery on the tempering expectations. making it to the conf final doesn't feel THAT great when the carolina series was almost a disaster minus 1 good period and they got absolutely handled by the panthers....and then made no real changes in the offseason.

Yea it would be cool to have Laf on the 1st unit But it’s not ideal. You don’t break up a top NHL PP unit bc you want Laf to get more points. Also doesn’t help his next AAV. Trocheck is not only the best Faceoff guy on the team but one of the best in the NHL. You don’t want to lose 30 seconds to start the pp when Mika loses 2/3 draws against the other teams defensive minded center

I agree with Avery with being disappointed for these past 30 years on the handling of this team every season we expect better we get excited we get pumped then it happens again. The previous season in the Playoffs the excuse was they ran out of OXYGEN then last year certain player were hurt not 100% so why play them as for their Cap they have to utilize their money wisely because i truly believe one player is not gonna win games for them . Kakko plays the game with a uncomfortable feel same way Laffy played last season and before then they now have Laffy floating for a open shot which increased his point percentage. Cuylle will have a super 2024-2025 season.

After an opening night win in Pittsburgh, Avery will be back. Not worried.

2 PPG IN THE LAST 4 games of the Carolina series and the entire Florida series that’s not good PP was good during the first 6 games after that it was pretty useless

Johnny in the playoffs that unit was shit after the caps series they def should try something new on the PP I don’t wanna have to put the season in the hands of the vets who have choked in the biggest moment both recent longer playoff runs 2 balanced units is smart so if ones not working the can use the other instead of if the top unit not working they are fucked cuz the 2nd unit was so weak in years past

You guys need to address how bad Jacob Trouba is for this team. It’s not just “Florida was the better team” the rangers will get now where if they don’t learn from this and adjust

1994 taught me that it's not worth getting too emotionally invested in something over which you have no control. No matter how closely you follow the team or how many games you watch or how much you know, nothing you do will affect what happens on the ice. And even if they win the Stanley Cup, it's not going to improve your life in any lasting way. Sure, there will be celebrations and a parade and it will be fun, and you'll be proud of your team, but in a few weeks all of that goes away and the world returns to normal and your life is no different. It's better to just sit back and enjoy the games. See every season and every playoff run as an opportunity for some enjoyment and community, but don't get so into it that it kills you when they lose.

I don't know what you guys could possibly see in Zibanejad & Panarin.... And I've been saying this for three years. The entire Team Culture needs to be overhauled. You will never ever win anything with these two Ballerinas as your Top-2 FWs.

Jonny, the Rangers basically played the hope game with the NZ flip. They would always stretch a forward, then send both wingers down the wall just in case of a wrap (in their own zone) and basically tried the hammer play where that NZ forward would put himself in a spot to receive a flip or a direct pass and have the two wingers come through the NZ with speed to catch guys off guard. They never had support coming back through the middle of the ice in their own zone and they were lazy getting back for pucks which is why they turned pucks over constantly or would just have to always flip it. No support coming back into the zone killed any momentum of breaking the puck out clean and then mix that in with wraps from the D to wingers with their back to the blue line and a panthers D crashing down on them just trying to chip it and see if they can get a quick break. Not sure if that was a laviolette thing or not, but thats what I watched back numerous times

Guys please address Miller and see him for what he’s actually showing. Super talented but gets beat way too often not to mention not getting the puck out consistently. I would have him practice in training camp without a stick so he moves his feet better and not rely on his physical ability to play defense. I love the guy but this needs to be corrected.

More education for you Del Zotto who hasn't watched many Ranger games.Laffy had more 5 on 5 goals than Mika the season before. It's long overdue that he goes on PP1 and Mika gets demoted. So stop you're Love Affair with Mika and do more research!

Jones is a Mini Fox-great skater, stickhandler with speed. He needs a chance much more than Trouba,Miller

Drury has to find a way,i know it's not easy to trade Kreider or Mika or Both.They're not committed to winning a Cup.They don't want to get hurt and you can't have players like that for the Playoffs.

I don't want guys to be traded BUT if the price is right and the pieces coming back are good I'd consider it. Especially Mika. Panarin to a lesser extent. They have proven repeatedly that they run out of gas in the postseason and that they are easy to game plan against for opposing teams. They are good for selling tickets but not winning championships. That said, if we run it back one more time, I'll still be super excited. If we could land a Brady ChuckChuck in Ottawa (somehow) I'd instantly put us right back at the top. I'm just dreaming at this point, but he is the kind of player this team needs.

Del Zotto-Miller???Obviously you haven't watched many Ranger games this season where he was a Turnover Machine!He's also Soft for his size, weak checks,always Poke Checking.He plays like Kreider,Mika,not wanting to get hurt.Man i so hope he's traded!!

I agree with you Jonny. We have had Mikkola , Braun , Gustafson all “veteran” Dman recently. Give Jones a shot we can always get a Dman at the deadline if nec but he can move the puck.

Zibanejad doesn’t play hard enough and he brings Kreider with him.

I’m a devils fan and I can say I never have sympathy for Rangers fans when they lose but I can feel the passion with Avery talking. I’ve been a devil fan since 85 and I’m 48 years old now. I think I sounded a lot like Avery when the devils would come up short. Losing like the playoffs hurts like hell but I will say, you’re only 26 and as you get older, you will realize that there are more important things in life than your sports teams. The disappointment will still be there, but it won’t last nearly as long as I’m sure it will last now. Believe me I’m as die hard of a devil fan as there is, but I’ve just learned over the years to let it go a lot sooner when they disappoint me.

Lousy contracts were given boyz! Started with Gorton and JD and extended with Drury. Alot of money held up in soft players.

My thoughts: 1. Cody looks like adam fox here 2. Panthers bodied the nyr for 9 games this season. not even close. 2a. this series ended when gustafson erased that 5 on 3. 3. NYR need to trade a big contract. i hope trouba 4. NYR must get othmann and berard involved in the varsity next year 5. Sign perreault for hartford 6. ive seen enough of kakko 7. if mika is a 1c its bottom 5. that contract is a PROBLEM.
