    So THAT's how to get to the Bat-Cave. Very Nice. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the entire process.

    I have a kitchen window that only gets afternoon sunlight. It's dark and gloomy from night through dawn and all day till that one beam of sunshine finds it for one hour. Since there is not much of a view outside, I wonder if I could set up a recessed area around the window and put LED lights in to do this round the clock lighting. Neat idea to use for a dark space!

    How long did this last?

    • @ShelyHomeDesign
      @ShelyHomeDesign 7 днів тому

      Because I didn't put a proper hard floor underneath, it lasted about a year. But if you put a hard surface underneath like 1/4 plywood and duck tape it together making a floating subfloor it'll likely last much much longer

    This looks excellent! I just moved to a rental where the main door just opens in the living room and I’m looking for ways to make a divider. May I ask how did you secure it to the floor and ceiling?

      I used mounting tape cause this is a rental, but you could screw it in if your landlord allows it

    Need hard substrate cannot just put Lino over carpet because carpet isn’t flat - ! I tried that and from experience can say that it doesn’t work - def need to put Lino on a hard floor to work also make sure edges are waterproof to prevent decay of floor underneath

    • @ShelyHomeDesign
      @ShelyHomeDesign 4 місяці тому

      I hung them from the top part which is made of wood, and used fishing line to hang it at the level I like kind of like how in the victorian times they would hang pictures from the picture moulding near the ceiling 😊

      Oh wow I must have been half asleep reading your comment when I first replied, I thought you asked how I hung the pictures. This wall is free floating so it's not connected to the walls in my room, it's in the shape of an L and doesn't need support

    1:50 The idea is great, but the layout is depressing. No natural light in the bedroom, TV facing the window. Desks facing the wall. I wonder what Cliff Tan will make of it.

    • @ShelyHomeDesign
      @ShelyHomeDesign 5 місяців тому

      Everyone has there own way of things. I purposely did this because I don't like natural light where I sleep lol plus there was an annoying sky light that ended up making the sun go right to my face every morning anyway 😅 good thing I moved from this room to a different one later on

Please consider using 1/4 inch plywood under the linoleum flooring to make it more stable I didn't do that in this video so the carpet underneath made the floor squishy so it broke after awhile but if you place the plywood on top of the carpet and duck tap it together making a sort of floating sub floor the linoleum on top will have more more stability and last longer :)
