Got a dual filter set up installed on my duramax today, everything is plug and play and reversible, overall install is super easy (about an hours start to finish). This kit offers 2 micron fuel filtration , plug and play install, fuel filter change becomes a breeze, and filter itself is less than half the cost of factory cartridge filter. Most f15/f85 bmws that ive seen experience bottom side bolster seat damage. I took my seat by the upholstery shop and had my seat cushion repaired and foam fixed/reinforced. Closest color we were able to match to aragon brown was maserati orange. Overall seat removal is fairly straightforward (step by step in this video), definitely happy with the end result

Installing a full 6/4 piston big brake kit on this G06 with f90 front/rear brake rotors. Install is plug and play and uses a separate rear caliper for the electric parking brake. My 2018 x5m drivers door soft close function stopped working a few days ago. I could hear the motor trying to pull the door but there was no actual door action present. BMW X5/X6 have been plagued with the front driveshaft issues where ujoint would blow up and shaft would make a hole in the transmission housing or engine oil pan. This will also take out the transfer case splines and would result in extremely costly repairs (7-13k and weeks of downtime). looks great but my only concern is that the gaskets on top of the bracket, looks you would need to take apart the whole assembly to change them . is that true and how often do they need to be replaced ? thanks
I dont think these gaskets/orings would go bad, haven’t heard of that yet. Ive since switched to baldwin filters, they flow a little better than cat but still filter finer particles than stock unit. Very happy with the set up 👍
Do you powder coat the Porsche calipers? If so, any testing to ensure fitment/sealing?
They are painted. No sealing/fitment issues in 3+ years

Thanks for sharing. When you swapped the hoses, did you have the brake pedal pressed in at all? Some folks do that and apparently it minimises fluid loss. For bleeding the brakes I think it’s best to bleed the outer side first, maybe doesn’t really matter but it’s just a little further away from the reservoir. 👍
Thank you for your support! I didnt press the brake pedal, fluid loss is minimal either way, i wasnt worried about it, just a few drops vs risking damaging your seat.
It beats me that this is a known problem for years, but BMW do NOTHING about it🤬

Yes they all have 866 shaft, unfortunately they are known to break at the ujoint

Nice upgrade! However, why use F90 M5 caliper & discs, when F95 X5M discs and caliper are bolt on without the need for an aftermarket bracket?
Availability of f95 brakes is extremely limited, and extremely costly. Most shops will sell you f95 without factory bracket, at that point brakes are useless unless you get a bracket that is not sold separately. As for the rears, f95 disc offset is super deep and will not allow for dual caliper bracket to be installed.
@@Dentprotony true regarding availability on the used market, I have two pairs here and they are the golden ticket in terms of OEM solution since they bolt onto all G2x, G3x, G1x, G05 etc etc
@@jnjolly1 correct, these are hard to come by and if you do, these wont be cheap, also calipers will be chewed up likely, also likely calipers would come without brackets, pads shot, would require all new hardware/repaint as well
@@Dentprotony the two sets of F95 calipers I have are clean, and came with nearly new pads. However like yourself I would always repaint before fitting - unless they were bought new from the dealers! I like what you have done with this kit - really nice set up.

My F85 the leather looks shiny on front seat side bolster, is the best idea just taking to an upholsterer? Or do you think there might be a way to remove shine?
You can use off the shelf cleaners like lexol to protect and clean, ai would try that to maybe see where are you at and if its gone and needs upholstery work or basic cleaning could save your situation
Can it hold like 900hp on a x5M e70?
I have several customers that are close to 900whp with their f85 with zero issues. If anything id trust my shaft before id trust stock unit
