It was drying up so gradually got more grippy. Never super high, but this manoeuvre almost came by itself in the beginning! 😊

@@ericabandolorian4608 Yeah! Me too, I thought this was a nice place to do it as well. It was a bit slippery so there's things to improve on. Was more than one sec faster last year. Was tricky gray light. Not that much contrast between the road and the grass. I need more practice 🙂

@@rcplaytime Thanks mate! 😊 Yeah I think it shows more of the action. Ideally mix in some of my normal shots as well but this was more of a test. But the park will close during the winter so I thought it was live to have a go and make a video before that 😉

Then it's quite ok as long as you stay in the clean parts. Last year I went there 5 weekends in a row. Running one battery each time to not upset too many ppl. But I think the road kept getting better and better, for my purposes... 🙂 I dunno of I can change the setup in a specific way to get it better, what do you think?

@@MauzyrockRC Thanks mate! 😊 Yeah, CEN tyres. I like the text. It's good for scale in the side cam... 😁 I invented the string thingy to get some dynamic shots where drones are prohibited. It takes a lot of time rigging and getting everything right. And the environment must support it with places to tie off to. Almost hard to justify 😅 But I think it's a funny idea and sometimes we got it alright! 😁

Thanks mate!😊 I don't notice it, and I think Id be motion sick if it was significant. I think it might be around 30ms if reception is good. I'm currently using DJI FPV v1 goggles and caddx vista vtx but I was running an analog setup until about a year ago and I don't really think it's a lot more latency. The image is more stable so all motion is from the car and road so it makes it more easy to understand what's going on with the car now :)

@ The stability is the reason I asked about the latency. Figured it would be way worse. Have you tried moving the camera forward just a bit? I like the realism of seeing the “door pillars” but it seems like it impairs the view. Hard for me to judge though because I’m not the one driving.

@@adamm_2181 In analog, the picture was jumping around a bit, even if the road was flat. Of course a lot of lag would also be terrible to drive with but I believe the digital is a lot nicer. Signal pen is much better. There is a video when I film through a spare pair of goggles showing the analog image. Gonna try to find it.

@@adamm_2181 I'm pretty happy with the cam position. I get a bit of the sunscreen to shade some glare so that's a benefit. It might be the best view to have it on the roof so you can see what's going on around you but then it's a bit unprotected if rolling. Besides, I want the dashboard in the video.. 😁

Thanks mate! Happy you like it! 😊 It's key to have a high coverage of footage and drive the car in a consistent way, placing it on the same part of the road each lap. It's good when all turn 3 clips are similar and interchangeable, both for lap times and editing... 😅 Then I look when I'm passing a rock or some other easy to spot feature close to the road, and try to piece it together. Sometimes I have to compromise a bit but this is the method I try to use. In other vids doing laptimes, I look when the car crosses a line drawn on the road and use that to start and stop the timer.

@@mrcrally263 Thanks mate! 😊 I didn't really compare but I don't think I suffered. The rims and the text looks great on screen! ;) I had the corner on the crest by the lighthouse. I think sand blew in from the beach making it super slippy. Or if I pulled it out, not sure. But at one point I had to be very cautious and specific to avoid spinning there. But sand on the paving blocks will be like bearings so not too surprised. Probably need more tread pattern to deal with that 🤔

@@KobamBOOSTER The CEN Puma is still only driven like usually. On the WR8 I'm using dji FPV goggles. It's a digital video link system typically used for drones. So the controller is the same as usual RC, only the addition of live feed in goggles 😎

@@prophetate Det sitter en sensorlös 3000kv i som är original. Men den går egentligen fint på mindre banor. Kanske dreva upp lite hade kunnat va bra, blir ju lite mjukare acceleration oxå så man kan slarva lite mer med gasfingret... 😅 Men jag tycker den e himla trevlig ändå som den e 😁

@@woodyuk1983 For sure. I didn't wanna optimize it for the track, just have a go and see how it performed, more or less out of the box. Rear swaybar, shock positions and a faster servo are the main changes. I listed all I could think of in the video description :)

@@electricnitrorc To be fair I have made more changes to the WR8. 17t pinion (stock is 15t), stiffer springs and foam tires being important improvements I think. So lap times should be quicker due to that and also a bit more top speed from the 4000kv motor altho I'm not sure about the internal gear ratio or what the FDR is for them so. Buy if the WR8 is a bit faster on the straight, that only means the CEN works good in the corners. I really like both cars :)

@@electricnitrorc not to mention these runs were 2 years apart on different tires, so not that scientific... 😅 I think the main takeaway is that it's similar times and good feeling 😁

@@MauzyrockRC I like it, I think it's fun to drive. I think it's a bit soft for this type of driving and I have maybe more brakes than needed. I did 29.05 with the WR8 a couple of years ago, but that was probably further into the session and with a stiffer setup + foam tires. I noted my setup changes in the video description, it's pretty stock :)

@@mrcrally263 Thanks mate! Yeah I think it was good. Nice feeling to drive. Compared to the WR8 I think I was 0.6s slower, but to be fair I probably made more laps with the WR8 to get tires warm and all of that. I had foam tires on the WR8 as well and more optimized setup for tarmac

@@alantaylor353 I think that CEN is very fun to drive. It's moving a bit more, a bit higher off the ground. Still fast tho. I think I managed the fastest time around this lap with it earlier this year! :) I have not hit anything with it yet so I don't know about durability. Also I haven't fitted it with the FPV gear so I can't drive it in that many places. This is the worst part with it. The WR8 is a classic. I like that it has a servo saver box stock. I think this is why the bellcrank doesn't break easily. Also I probably made it heavier with all camera gear and that might contribute to making it a bit too low. I should try to raise it a bit and see if ai can get it to move more like the CEN. I think it's mostly what platform you can get parts for. For this type of scale driving I think both are really great cars. The CEN has turnbuckles so you can adjust camber box stock but no sway bars. The WR8 has sway bars but molded camber links. Easy enough to fix. I have some vids, one unboxing and first thoughts and then some running vids. Check the playlist on my channel :)

@@johnmcvicker6728 I have also raced before and as you say I think it's a bit of two different challenges. Some may fancy one over the other. So for racing, I think it would have been better to have the camera further back to get a bit more situational awareness of cars around you. In FPV it's a lot easier to determine where in the width of the track you are, and equally so left to right. It's harder to judge the speed and maybe under/oversteer can be a bit harder to detect sometimes. Especially if the road is bumpy, since I don't currently run any gimbal to stabilise the video feed. Audio doesn't seem to be a thing yet. Really hoping future systems will feature it for more information about the situation. The layouts that are fun also change with the view point. Search my channel for my latest video from noseville park and yellow pavilion rally. Those places are great places. Not that tight corners sl you can carry a lot of speed. You have view challenges like crests and also repeated S-bends where you can find a really fast line and it feels like you're flying! :D I made a play list with my top spots, there's a few more places that are amazing there ;)
