Dude so you must be new to Northern Nevada from Michigan? How long have you been here? You have to check out the Swell are while in Utah. South East Utah is cool. But there is some stuff in the middle that is a must see not advertised like the popular spots. If you haven’t been here in Northern Nevada long I’m gonna be pumped to take you out and show you ADVNevada. There is much awesome stuff to see. Not much of it has the challenges that Utah brings though.
I'm almost always down for a ride. Thanks for offering a tour guide. I'll surely take you up on it. Where do you guys post your group rides? I would join on some of them.
I trailered out there from Grand Rapids, MI with 2 buddies in Sept 2021 on my 1090 R (they were on twin africa twins). We needed close to 8hrs but basically our first time riding ADV offroad! It was fantastic! Thank you for the video, it re-invigorated my memories of the ride :)
@@AdventureJeff269 would love to! I need to get more off-road time. I've chatted with you before about riding our horrible sand in mi 😅 hoping to get a fuel injected 250f this summer to learn more. I've grown up riding two stroke quads so balance was never an issue lol
Just did it a few days ago with a buddy, both of us on 701's. We launched from where all the rock climbers are at on Potash Road, round trip for us was really close to what you said 136. We were told you can't do it in a day, and gave us a pass to go like a 1/3rd. Visitor station said you have to go 15mph, which is just silly. If you came from the other side, you'd never see a speed sign... In the end I think it took us 4.5 to 5.5 hours, I don't really remember, just we were eating burgers in Moab at 6:30 and we left the truck at 11'ish am. There were a ton of bicycles and everyone was really nice. I think the issue is people being loud and not respectful of others on the trail, no clue why the speech we got. You're supposed to be 60db max too, which is not possible lol. I will tell you I was thinking of taking my wife in the tundra or 80 series, but nope not now.
Hope you enjoyed it! I thought it was a beautiful ride. We thought everyone was super nice also. I had no idea there was a speed limit, and we did not get the speech lol. Whenever we noticed we were kicking up a lot of dust, we would slow down near other travelers. We generally slow down a little near other even if there isn't a ton of dust, but especially when dusty. How did the 701 do on fuel?
@@AdventureJeff269 It's a beast. Absolutely love it. Definitely different compared to the 990 but I'm looking forward to putting a lot more miles on it this year.
Happy Tday! Sorry I'm late lol. It was a fantastic ride. I would suggest not an ADV bike unless you are fairly confident! It wasn't hard technically, but I could see how it would be intimidating on the bike bike.
From NW Ohio here (Lima), and MOAB area is my goal for October 2023. Going alone, but would rather accompany some "local" riders. The forests, single track, logs, and mud are one thing.........I need this type of change.
Love it man! I was just out by MOAB with my family on vacation. Looks like an awesome place to ride. We went to Arches, but I got a taste of what it looked like and I'm jealous bro. Glad I found your channel dude! 🤘
Thank you for posting this!! Planning to take my 890 Rally out there next month and wanted to see if there was any crazy exposure stuff but looks so fun to ride!!
@@AdventureJeff269 I did it in my truck this spring and I saw a ton of bikes and I got jealous. I can’t do it on my gasgas because it’s not street legal. Maybe I’ll do it on my tw200… but for sure when I get the T700
Thank you! The desertx is very cool. But the price tag isnt super friendly and I would hate to drop it. Ive dropped this 990 so many times I cant count lol
@@AdventureJeff269 I know, I know...but trust me, the desert x is like a lighter more sophisticated version of the 990...just doesnt sound quite as good..with that said, there's a reason I have a baja!
Got a camp permit to take my tundra out there for a few days to wrap up a 6 month trip to Alaska and all over the west back in 2017. Place is magical! Also, just got back from a camping trip on my 05 950 adv. what an amazing bike huh?! where did you get those swingarm guards?
I bet that trip was life changing! And yes the 950/990 bikes are the best. I dont have swingarm guards, some of the 9xx bikes have black painted swingarms. Easy swap!
No we camped in my trailer. Its all setup for overlanding and supee cheap to stay in. Its got roof fan, shower, battery, inverter, blah blah blah.. Thanks for watching!
I stopped using GoPro. Way too many problems: easily overheat, short battery life, complex editing (no ability to custom name each camera in a multi camera shoot, and more… ( I have GoPro Hero Black 12 cameras). Don’t waste your money on GoPro. They are the OG, but fell waaaayyyy behind. I use Insta360 3x, just one camera captures more than 3 GoPros. Editing is waaayyy easier. Battery life is nonissue. Heat, never had an issue.

Cool video. Just got back from a week in Sliverton and a week in Moab... also from Michigan!
I've never been to Silverton. I loved Moab. What did you think of it?
Awesome 👍🏍️🏍️

wow ! just like you this is not normal for me - what a ride

Great video adding this ride to my list...

We can take the adv bikes out. Ill make a facebook post next time we go out. Follow the advjeff page if you dont and youll see it.
Nice scenery, great work on the video - like the camera angle!
Thanks Darrell. Took me long enough to post it. And thats the only spot on the xd4 helmet i can get the gopro to stay!

dope vid 😉

That’s definitely a great view! This kind of reminds me when I had a mountain ram 🐏 jump out in front of me on the Harley in South Dakota!
Way more scary on a Harley. The 990r has been down tons of times!
Im going to be playing this in my moab garage bar.
Hell yeah brother!

You are near some decent drop offs. Other than that, it's not a super technical ride.
Nice Video, what time of the year did you go. Are there campsites outside the park? Thx Tony
We went in late September and it was perfect! We camped dispersed so I'm not sure about sites near the park.
Much appreciated
Hiway Dirtbike Bar protectors and mirrors- first thing i put on new bikes.
