Its a 3rd world Country just like Canada. I've been living in Toronto Canada for a while now (not by choice) and i experience the same thing. I took the US for granted. To me aside from the women the US is the greatest Country in the world by far. It took me living in another Country to realize this.

I found Medellin early 2024, keep in mind I am chef on cruise ship so I am seasoned traveler. I have throughly enjoyed the P4P seen. It works for my lifestyle but the honeymoon stage has finally started to wear off. I sometimes wonder how it would be to seriously date, but with all the risk and the type of girls I like, I’m most likely doing the smart thing keeping things at arms distance. In Asia, people are so poor and I don't act like that. My opinion is that it is disgusting. Because of their behavior, it will always be so terrible there. I feel sorry for the normal people. I'm from Europe, from Prague, and here you can walk peacefully around the city at night and nothing will happen to you... In the tourist center you pay a little extra for alcohol, it's probably everywhere. I was home for a month over the summer in Kentucky where it was SUPER hot everyday. Could barely go outside without being drenched in sweat. Coming back to Medellín after that trip with the fresh air on taxi home to Poblado was definitely euphoric. But that does wear off. I try to be mindful of how lucky I am and put things into perspective. Remember moments like that.

If you didn't want them to be with you about finances, then why did you choose a developing country? You could've stayed in The States to get with financially better off options. There's some conginitive dissonance going on here. If you want any semblance of that in Colombia, you'll have to get out of Medellin AND go up the estrada to at least #4.

It's definitely different than living in the USA. I love it, I've been here 4 years and I live in a regular neighborhood. I have to renew my 3 year visa next year. Get out of Poblado and ditch those tourist glasses.

I’ve lived in MDE since February this year. All your points are valid and honest to god it just takes finding what makes you joyful in life. I moved from Miami and for those who know understand how superficial that city is. I’ve grown to enjoy MDE VERY MUCH. It has its pros and cons but the Colombian ppl are big on family. The women can be complex (but that is almost in every major city in any country) Remote work is lonesome at times but you have to find time to get outside as much as possible. Days I’m not on calls for my business I’m usually out with my dog most of the day. Would love to connect sometime brother I live in Envigado 👍🏽

Some youtubers not you ruinned Medellin back in 2000 útil 2016 it was all fine. Rent and places were cheap everywhere. The problem is that foreigners travel to poor country and they buy a snack and start giving a tip in US or Euro money so some people not all Colombians see this an oportunity to take advantage of you and that's when you heard robbery, kidnaping and murdering. I agreed with you Medellin is becoming the new Thailand
