I’m also antinatalist. Why would I want to bring a child here when there is a huge plethora of suffering? Every single reason why people have children is selfish. I suffer from depression, anxiety and various other mental issues and I refuse to pass that on. I am not financially, mentally, emotionally and spiritually fit to handle a child or multiple children.

i'm 16 male and i have autism ( high functioning) .in year 9 (14years old) there was this one girl with dyed red hair (she was an emo girl) who started calling me her "best friend" and would talk to me in class and she started to call me nicknames (she and her friends did this with other neurodivergent students) i developed a crush on her(she was one of the few girls who talked to me willingly) , in year10 (15 years old) i stopped talking to her because i have less classes to talk to her and in the classes i do have her she isn't close to my table making it very hard to talk to her and she's usually talking to one of her friends (the reason why i don't join in is because i find it hard to socialize in conversations with more than one person )and when i did try to talk to her she would ignore me .occasionally she would go up to me and complain about how i don't talk to her any more (even tho when ever i tried to talk to her she would tell me to shut up) . in year 11 (16 years old) i completely gave up.(her best friend keeps on giving me the side eye) didn't tell her i liked her because i didn't want it to affect her friendship with the other neurodivergent kids. now year 11 is over she is now going to another school, I'm going to 6th form she is going to college. (in the uk college and uni are different things and if you want to go to uni you have to do a levels at 6th form ) i still think and fantasize about her about her and still have feelings for her

As a very philosophy minded individual and a former anti-natalist, I agree and disagree at the same time lol. Yes, in a way making a decision to have a kid is immoral because they can never consent to that. On the other hand, free will doesn't exist, so they were meant to exist anyway. If universe "wanted" someone to exist, they will exist. To think that we actually decide to create new life even though it was not "meant to be" is ridiculous. Whoever exists was meant to exist, and will exist for all eternity, as the universe will continue recreating our lives over and over again. Death is not real from your perspective because you can't experience it.

From an atheists point of view there is absolutely no point to life. When you are dead you arent alive to remember your experiences and feelings. There is no after, so anything you do here is pointless. You can say, as many do, that you can have children and then they have children etc. But then there will come a point where the human race ends or if not, the universe will. So you end up with the same result. Everyone will be dead and there will be no one around to remember, no purpose to any of it, as if all of life never existed. Well to be honest, this makes no sense to me. Galaxies, planets, gravity, electricity, chemistry. birds, dogs, singing, flowers, laughter, love, the lands and oceans full of life, and of course us humans, taking advantage or how perfect the laws of physics are and using them to better our lives. How can all that be without purpose. The amount of things that had to be exactly as they are for everything in existence to be how it is, is unimaginably large. So it only leads one to believe, there must be something more that we do not or can not know at the moment. This is why im not an atheist, i think its illogical and only leads to despair.

The thing I find strange is that people have kids so they have somebody who will take care of them in the old age. BUT they don't realize that they are giving their child the same struggle of old age and death later on...

Even though we have all the advances of technology and stuff our ancestors had more fun and more of a sense of belonging then the empty souls living amongst us in our modern society. Why is it that everyone is constantly rejoicing in others. struggles, suffering and hardships and why do people feel the need to never agree and they just have to disagree with various opinions presented to them and why is everyone overly critical, sensitive, easily offended and judgemental consistently. It’s so predictable the behaviour patterns of others. It’s a harsh reality and there’s no community spirit or fun anymore.
