Very helpful tips! I’m doing a bunch of these but it’s forgotten about Language Reactor so thanks for that! Oh, and I’m going to apply these to Norwegian!
I am considering getting Lingopie, and your video was very helpful. Thank you.
Holy shit the amount of trouble this lady went through to get to know the french language is insane the dedication is crazy work i dont think i am ever gonna get a hang of it
I share this experience 🎉
Awesome video, Corinna. Thanks!
You’re welcome! Glad it could help! ☺️
I remember when my French & Tagalog were good enough that I started thinking in those languages. Really bizarre & cool. I’ll get there again soon
There's something believable about you. You make sense, too.
Serbian langauge can be learned in 2025 it's a unigue langauge.
Thank you so much for this video, but especially for the language reactor rec! I've been looking for something like that for YEARS 😭
You’re welcome!! So glad it could help ☺️ Language Reactor is INCREDIBLE!
R u aussie?
Yeah nah yeah 😉
@CorinnaLanguages 100% aussie
I loved your eyes!
My name is Jorge xiloj I started learning English last year for my own account tomorrow I have an interview for a cc English and If a pass I’m gonna starting learn French
Good luck! I hope it goes smoothly :)
May i know the app u are using for listening to podcasts that shows the transcriptions just like the one u showed in the video
Of course :) I use the Apple Podcasts app. If you don’t have an iPhone, I know that Spotify also show transcriptions on their app. Just note some podcasts disable them because they sell the transcripts on their websites, but it seems like most podcasts do allow it!
Thank you.
So helpful and informative, thanks for sharing
So glad this video helped!! Thanks for watching :)
Iwish u did this vd in french
Im in between purchasing the subscription
Have you used the free trial first to see if you find value from it? Language Reactor also has a free version.
Do you know if it works with Disney+?
Neither Lingopie nor Language Reactor work with Disney+
great vid. looking forward to learning French this year! thanks
Thank you! Good luck and have fun! ☺️
I am using Preply with native African French speakers with a 3eur per 50 mins so I am taking Monday to Friday class and it is 1-1 video call that you can adjust your learning experience. I will avoid the regular school. I find them terribly boring. I agree with her you need the gradually learning and find what works for you. And be kind as this is a complicated language. FYI this is my 4 language and it takes time to learn it as the natives are speaking slang lots!
That sounds like an awesome system you’ve figured out for yourself! 👍 Thank you for sharing and bravo!
Please make one for German 🙏🤍and a side note may u please try to lower the background music down a notch 🤏
Thanks for the suggestion! I’m still learning German myself, but I’ll think on it :) Thanks for the feedback on the music. Was there a particular moment when it was too loud? Or was it all of the tracks throughout the whole video?
Mainly it was towards the start and the end of the video , between them didn't bother me much , maybe its just me i lose focus when there is music in the background 😂@@CorinnaLanguages
Thanks so much! I‘ll be doing a video where I cover my step-by-step plan to learn German this year, so I might consider briefly including some of the resources I’ve already used for German that have helped me get to where I am now.
I tried watching Lupin but I was cringing too much to keep going :(
Don’t worry there’s so so many other French TV shows out there! I am very curious what you found cringey about it though :)
My biggest issue is that I’m trying to learn French entirely for free. A lot of French UA-cam channels for learners recommended Lingoda, and I wanted to give the sprint a try but….money 😅
Totally understandable :) Way to go learning French entirely on your own though! You can get super far with UA-cam, free Language Reactor, noting down vocab, and even ChatGPT to explain tricky concepts. Something about Lingoda in case you’re interested, is that they actually allow you to download all their lesson plan pdf’s offline, even if you haven’t booked the classes. This might be possible with their free trial, and then to go through the lesson plans later on your own.
@@CorinnaLanguages ooh that’s really good to know, thank you.
I would recommend just using Language Reactor, it has so much more, also the pro version will allow ASR so all the subtitles will actually match the audio dialog.
Very good point 👍 I do love the ASR feature with Language Reactor Pro :)
oh my thank you so much for this. I'm in my 80's and relearninng french. It was a pleasure watching your video! Merci!
De rien ! That’s incredible to hear!! Way to go ☺️🎉 There’s a really inspiring French podcast episode by Inner French (E145) about a 60 year old who passed the C1 exam. You don’t hear these kind of stories as often but I wish we could!
@@CorinnaLanguages Oh my you responded to my little message. Thank you! I'll keep you updated on my progress but I don't think I'll be going through any formal tests for this. I'll be just traveling with my grandkids and trying all kinds of food like texas bbq and seeing the elephants in africa. :)
Great tips - merci!
Good luck! It was definitely take a lot more digging to find content you enjoy. I know Steve Kaufman has spoken about this spoken in quite a few videos he’s made in case that helps. It only takes a couple of resources you really love to help.
I'm studying Italian and your video came up, I was hesitant to watch as I thought maybe it would be to specific to French but I'm glad I did, thanks for the tips, especially the one for Language Reactor.
That’s amazing to hear! All the best with your Italian journey :) So happy to hear you find Language Reactor helpful! It’s definitely one of my favourite resources.
Would you recommend Lingoda for B1 to B2 learners in French?
Yes, in fact the B1 and B2 levels is where I would most recommend Lingoda. Communication is core in Lingoda lessons, and at these levels you have sufficient vocabulary and grammar to get the most out of it in my opinion. I personally went back to trying Lingoda when I was at A1 in German, and didn’t find it very effective because I didn’t know how to communicate, and didn’t know enough vocabulary. I did a few lessons at A2 as well, but stopped those as well. I plan to start really drilling down on Lingoda lessons for my German at B1, which shouldn’t be too far away :)
Hi Corinna ^_^ Thanks for sharing your experience! Very helpful Bonjour de Syrie ^^
De rien ! Merci d'avoir regardé ! ☺️
thank you this was so helpful
Absolutely BS and scam!!!!! Billed €199 even I cancelled within trial period, although promoted $199. Have not been responded to any of my emails until I sent despute to my bank. They don't deliver what promised. 1st - try to download the app to tablet=doesn't work. 2nd - try to use Disney+ = does not possible in Belgium Extra subscription on Netflix...€15 extra Then I tried on my phone, only useless shows are available, BUT I can not connect to Netflix on my phone. Use chatgpt and youtube
Something that got nothing to do with the video, but how come lamont from the channel " days and words " is Australian but he doesn't have that unique Australian accent that i love like u 😅❤
Hahaha thanks 😂 It’s weird because I rarely get these kinds of comments on my accent in my day-to-day life, but I lived in England as a kid so that plays into it a little bit :)
Should I get the 50% cashback or 30 credits after the sprint i am little confused. What do you recommend?
Sorry I’m a little late replying to this. It’s entirely up to you! If you were going to reinvest the money back into learning your target language anyway, and you’ve found a lot of value from taking Lingoda classes, go with the credits. Otherwise if you have another idea in mind to use the money, go for the cash back. Hope you’ve been enjoying your sprint!
Whatever subject it is, I have discovered that we learn much better doing it ourselves than at school!!! 😂😂😂 says a lot about how terrible our school systems are. In almost any country. French is my latest self-project. I also redid a lot of mathematics recently. That’s another topic haha
I know! Isn’t it interesting!! And overall school just doesn’t work for some people, and they go on to achieve amazing things and find jobs that they thrive in. I am curious to look further into what the school system in Germany is like a bit though, as their language skills I find to be very impressive! Hope your Maths and French are going well!!
But you'll never be us 😉 Seriously, Some people are pretending I'm not French. I'm like a sort of spy or something. I wish, but no.. I'm French, I like croissant and macarons and I say pain au chocolat. It's this way, not chocolatine. It's so stupid saying chocolatine. And totally out of context, release the Diddy thing, so we can have a little... laughter.
Just got Lingopie yesterday for German, I'm finding it very difficult to find anything that's honestly entertaining and their catalogue is also just very small. Maybe I'll try it with Netflix before I cancel but though I've been loving the idea of the dual subtitles for a while I'm not enjoying this and thinking it would be better to stick to UA-cam with a translator on the side.
This has been my issue with Lingopie. Without Netflix and/or Disney+ there really isn't much compelling content. I probably won't renew my subscription next year and just go with Netflix + LR, especially with their AI subtitles.
I hear you. I found Lingopie particularly helpful at the start of my German journey, but similar to with French, once I could start understanding more types of content, found it less interesting. Can’t go wrong with UA-cam/Netflix + the alternative 👍
The editing here was really awful, it’s like you’re constantly cutting yourself off, only to be interrupted by yourself… not ideal for a learning video, better for “cool” attempts at podcasts… Creates a sense of confusion… especially if you want your listeners to actually take useful info away after the video… Thanks for the info however…
Appreciate the feedback. I’m still learning so I won’t get it right every time, but I have seen this comment come up multiple times, and I have been working on improving the cuts in my recent videos.
@@CorinnaLanguagesI just watched the whole video and honestly didn’t even notice anything odd about the editing. Some folks are just hyper critical :(
Thanks. Use the Toggle Full Screen button to get rid of the script on the right. You're left with just the English & French subtitles on full screen.
This wasn’t possible back when I filmed this video, but it is now which is great!
merci pour la video
De rien !
I learned english and french by watching youtube videos. Listening is the best way to learn a language.
Cool. Thats what I'm trying to do now. Did you start with really basic videos or straight into the deep end?
Duolingo is good as a replacement for social media (for those of us who need constant dopamine but also know that social media is harmful), but it's definitely to be used alongside other forms of learning.
Hi, I've been following your channel for a while. I see that you switched your focus from MMO product reviews to language learning. Are you still involved in the Make Money Online niche and TAO? Your content still helps me, I'm a native English speaker (US) and I've been studying Spanish for the past 4 years. I'm about at an intermediate level. I am a resident of Mexico and I still struggle with listening comprehension. My wife only speaks Spanish and I can understand her just fine but when I'm out and about, I have issues. :( I will try podcasts!!
Hey :) I turned away from MMO as I was never really passionate about it, whereas I’ve always loved languages since I was a child. Thanks so much for supporting me for so long! I’m glad the language content can still help. That’s really interesting to hear about your journey with Spanish. Definitely getting exposure to a variety of Mexican Spanish speakers through podcasts, or TV shows will boost listening skills. Or maybe try joining a club to meet and talk to other people, so you get natural exposure and have fun with a hobby you enjoy at the same time :) I’m going to France later this year for a bit and really want to join a chess club, as an example. All the best!
Hey Corinna! I only just came across this... Very nice work! It's funny how we started and finished at around the same times... but you had a disadvantage: I copied the example sentence on to the FRONT of every card so I could see "die Luft" and "Die Bollen fleuger im dem Luft..." or whatever it is (the balls flies through the air... but in German). That made it WAY easier (but also probably totalled about 1 hour of extra work because I did each card as it came up rather than coding Anki to do it.) I also adjusted the intervals a little bit... I think upwards (longer) because I have really good short term memory and can typically remember the last 10 or so things I've heard. Also I'm not sure what our levels of Spanish/German were before this but I had studied French before so my comprehension of Spanish was decent. You came to a lot of the same conclusions I did... sure, it's obviously not THE most effective way... but if I'm not going to do it for 100 days in a row anyway, doing all 1000 in one day is definitely doing SOMETHING. My Spanish comprehension was WAY better after it... like I'd say double, and it is still higher than it has any right to be given that I haven't touched Spanish in over a year. If you ever do something else relevant to my channel (which I know is unlikely), feel free to let me know (just so I can watch it... not because I think you're stealing my idea... I just want to watch it.)
Hey Lamont! That’s so cool that you found this - had no idea you’d be interested. Your videos are very cool and your crazy challenges intrigue me, though I don’t have plans for more :) Your way having the examples on the front does sound wayyy better, and seems like a more natural way to learn too. I had vaguely remembered from when I watched your video a while ago that you had tweaked all the cards in some way, but I didn’t want to rewatch it before filming in case it interfered in some way. I started learning German about a year ago for the first time, and I had initially attempted to go through the Refold Anki deck the ‘proper way’, but found it very difficult to keep up because many of the example sentences aren’t very beginner friendly in my opinion. So having a few more months under my belt before attempting the challenge most definitely helped, and if I did the challenge today it’d probably work even better, since my comprehension has improved. That’s so cool to hear how much it helped improved your Spanish. Looking forward to your next big challenge!
@@CorinnaLanguages Haha, you guys both did great! I am about to the same challenge (maybe less words, we'll see) in Japanese today and I just watched both of your videos while having breakfast to get into the mood! You both made the rookie mistake of starting way too early. It's 10 am here now, the perfect time to start haha Let's see how far I will get. "Die Bollen fleuger im dem Luft..." sounds so funny haha It's "Die Bälle fliegen durch die Luft". And I agree, having example sentence in the front page makes it better for me. That way I learned about a billion new words in Spanish over the course of the last 10 months with Anki _____ Update: I ended up learning 250 words. Had to stop at some point, but it was so great! I can tell it was absolutely useful for me. But now I'll go back to doing 10-20 words a day :)
French movies are lame
Très utile et impressionant! 1) nthr perfect level of learning- some call it the Goldilocks zone. 2) subjunctive, conditional. imperative & indicative are verb MODES- each includes several TENSES,. Formidable! Super!
Brilliant, merci beaucoup!
I'm on my language learning journey and came across your videos looking for reviews on Lingopie. They're very helpful and I enjoy your content. I've subscribed. Thank you!😊
From where is this women's accent in English?
Australia.
i think everyone feels that about duolingo..then think they cant learn a language because of it :)
