    Hi! Thank you! I got a second-hand Jenome (New Home brand). It doesn't have the owner's manual. Im trying to watch UA-cam videos to try to understand how it works. I'm having an issue with the stitches. The straight stitch, the machine moves forward, but with every other stitch, the machine goes in reverse. When i press reverse, it goes forward. Google says that it's possible that the machine is engaged in the buttonhole setting. Let's see what happens after I try this. Thanks again!

    Also, if you have the ability to make more videos, please do so because you are very good at making them without unnecessary blathering like many people do. You should also turn on the feature where people can pay you, because I would have been happy to send you a dollar for your information here. When people do good things and help other people they deserve to be payed. You saved me so much time and frustration here, so when people do that I like to send them a dollar or two and everyone else should do that too. Even if only quarter or half of us do that it is worth it for both you and the people you are helping. I’m subscribed now ❤😊

    Thank you so much for making this clear video. When I got my Janome sewing machine about 4 years ago, I made few shirts and the button hole was a pice of cake to make. Since then I’ve put the manual that came with it in a very good place where I can’t find it, so thank God for people like you that can make clear and very instructive videos about what ever needs to be done. I want you to know how much I appreciate you. And BTW I had made shirts for my husband and 4 years later he wants more of them, and yes therefore the button holes. I’m in the USA 🇺🇸 so wherever you are (I think in Britain 🇬🇧) lots of love and appreciation ❤

    Yeah, mine just doesn't do it. The instruction tells me to do some arcane manipulations, and I managed to break two thick needles on a blouse fabric, and no button holes on sight. It just bunches up the stitch all in one place. Mine is mv530s, a simple model, and it's the first time it doesn't do what it is supposed to. I'm almost crying, honestly.

    I have the buttonhole foot and a janome machine, and when I put a button in it makes a perfectly good buttonhole, except the hole is always about 3 mm too big. Is there a way to fix that? Or should I possibly look into getting a new foot in hopes it will make a buttonhole the right size?

      Hi Doris, I've never heard of that before... have you a local sewing machine shop where you could ask? Otherwise I think its just case of hand sewing a stitch at one end.... maybe leave the thread a bit longer and use it to stitch the end together:)

    • @patchworkquiltingclassestv9084
      @patchworkquiltingclassestv9084 9 місяців тому

      Oh dear - that sounds like its broken - you need the lever to tell the machine when to change direction.... otherwise it would take a lot of steps manually .... straight stitch reverse,to the top of the hole, then a tight zigzag forward over the straight stitching, then a bartack, (twice the zigzag width, length 0) then a straight stitch backwards, (up the other side of the buttonhole), then another bartack, then the zigzag forwards again over the straight stitches and finish off... it might be worth a try :)
