Back in the 1960s, Madge Blake moved into a very modest apartment complex (which is still standing today) at 415 N. Holliston Avenue in Pasadena, CA. That address just happened to be next door to the house I grew up in as a child. It didn’t take long for word to get out that “Aunt Harriet” from Batman had just moved into our neighborhood, and before you knew it, every kid within a ten-mile radius descended upon her home for a chance to see this “T.V. star”. The line of kids trying to get her autograph went from her apartment front door, all the way out of her apartment complex, and then went down the sidewalk in front of the complex. The manager of that apartment complex would occasionally shoo us kids off by saying “You kids stop bothering that woman and go home!”, only to have the line form again an hour later. Madge must’ve had a stack of 8” x 10” black & white glossy photographs to give out, because she actually took the time to stand in her doorway and talk to each and every child who knocked on her door that month, giving each child an autographed photograph. What a sweet old woman she was! Madge really loved to bake. She would occasionally invite my brother or myself into her apartment to help her bake cookies. She ended up being like a grandmother to my brother and I. When I heard the story about Madge once baking Adam West a cake for saving her job, I thought to myself, “Yep, that sure sounds like Madge alright!” A few years ago I was lucky enough to contact Madge’s granddaughter, who is a professional skater and an entertainer in her own right. It was really neat being able to tell her stories about her grandmother. She said she remembered visiting her grandmother at those apartments back in the 1960s. And, believe it or not, the neighbors on the other side of my house were the Van Halen family, where Eddie Van Halen lived - but that is an entirely different story!😉

My fiya took her real child in bus and she was born and she didn't want to buy ticket so she hid her under the seat in bus.😂we were laughing at her and she was so funny 😂

I thought that after Bobby Jellison's final i love lucy appearance in the episode the star upstairs. He could have been in more episodes. The following 9 episodes after "a star upstairs" were still set in Hollywood" he was initially their milkman in the season 1 episode the gossip. He could have have even made some appearances in the last two seasons of i love lucy. Possibly as Bobby the bellboy's identical twin brother. He was a good actor. May he rest in peace.

I went to the Lucy Desi Museum in Jamestown New York, several of her outfits are on display there, including the gypsy outfit in the Operetta episode❤️

On some show (and I’m trying to figure out which one), he would pop up from behind the desk, really suddenly, like a hotel clerk desk, and do this very obnoxious “yessssssssss?” I was like 5, and it somehow still sticks with me. I did impressions of it all my life because I thought it was comical. Any idea what show? I’m thinking Jackie Gleason or?

Good review! It confirms why this movie won for Best Screenplay and Doris was nominated for Best Actress. The character actors were all extremely good too - from the young college son who tries to seduce Doris to Thelma Ritter adding spice to the dialogue with witty comments along with Tony Randall, Doris's boss and other designer/assistant to Brad's other women and the singer at the bar restaurant who catches Rock in the act - her expressions alone were entertaining as were the songs and music. Truly a 10 score movie!

Don't get it twisted though. Another reason that the show had been initially rejected was because it featured a black female bridge officer who had authority. We love you Nichelle Nichols. That BS excuse about it being too similar to Lost in Space was just an excuse.

My parents bought his house in reseda and we lived there for many many years. My parents bought it from his wife Karen. He passed away in the house. This is so cool to see. I’ve always wondered about him. We bought the house in December 1983 and sold it in 2019. It was a wonderful home.
