I Grew Hops and Made a Beer with Them (Grain to Glass)
This grain to glass video will show you how to grow hops in containers and use them to homebrew a pale ale in under 4 months. Technically, it's a ground to glass video with homegrown Chinook hops.

🎶 Fresh Hopped Vol 1 Lyrics:
I’m a first-year hop, called cream of the crop.
My lupin, in bloom again, so don’t go busting my chop.
Cause I’m fresh off the bine wet, dripping, and hot.
My bitterness will get you tripping with the acid I drop.
I Got Flavor, aroma, a one-stop-shop.
Put the oil in the boil just to make the wort pop.
Yea you thought I was rot, but I can’t be stopped.
Let’s get fresh-hopped!
🎥 Facts for Video Nerds:
This video was shot entirely on an iPhone. No special apps were used. It was edited in Adobe Premiere. The singing hops animation was done in Adobe After Effects. The @Brewfather screencast was filmed, edited, and animated in ScreenFlow.

    I've been reading that the longevity of the refrigeration system is shortened if you have a freezer set to higher the. Normal temperature is this true?

    Ello mate! Have you tried different lvls of Na in ur beer? Typically for a neipa I try to go for 50 ppm. It makes it juicier imo, kinda like a chocolatey dessert.. you add some salt sprinkles and it makes it even more lush and deeply sweet.

    I'm a little new to brewing, only been doing small batches. But i'm about to do my first batch using water chemistry. My batch will only create a gallon of beer, my question is what should i do after the boil? I lose water that isn't quite a gallon, so I've been adding water when it cools down after the boil. Should I just not care if I lose less than a gallon, or should I add treated water? Thanks, loved the video!

      Treat all your water before you start and don't add any later. That's what I do.

    Hey, great video and I also read your article, but do have a couple of questions regarding your water profile. You recipe includes a bunch of water additions. Will adding these to RO water create the desired water profile or do I have to start with the water profile mentioned and then add the "Misc" mentioned in the recipe? When do I add the water chemicals to the water and do you add these to the sparge water as well. PS: What is your starting water volume and sparge water volume for the Bowie IPA?

    • @BrewCabin
      @BrewCabin 2 місяці тому

      I start with RO. I would do your own calculations because your system will be different than mine.

    This video was well done and nice to look at. However, I wish less time had been devoted to painting the freezer and more time dedicated to what's going on inside the freezer. Wanted more information on installation of taps, drip tray, thermostat, regulator and manifold, etc... I got some good design tips but would have liked more of the other things.

    How is the pump activated? I see it draws from the drum and out the pot filler, but. What tells the pump to turn on as there is no water pressure to activate it?

    • @BrewCabin

      The pump is pressure activated. When I open the pot filler valve, the pump automatically kicks on.

    Hi, i have a question. Does any kind of chest freezer suites for building a keezer? I have explained to the salesman of chest freezer what im intendind to do ,he said ,that compresor might burn,if starts more often than 10 min. Im confused,what chest freezer i should look for. Could You please give Your opinion.Thank You!

    • @BrewCabin
      @BrewCabin 10 місяців тому

      I'm not a chest freezer expert, but my guess is YES. As long as you have a temperature controller, you can turn any fridge or freezer into any temp controlled box at any temperature.

    What a fantastic video nice work man. I want to give this a go and am just flirting with starting to use RO water and actually attempting some water chemistry instead of just a carbon filter and tap water. How do i convert your PPM to Grams??

    • @BrewCabin
      @BrewCabin 10 місяців тому

      You need to know your base PPM measurements in your supply water. From there, you can use a calculator to find out how many grams it takes to reach the desired PPM for any salt. For example, if you find out that your water has 10ppm of Sulfate, and the recipe calls for 100ppm, then you can use a tool like Brewfather or Beer Smith to figure out how many grams it would take to raise your sulfate levels 90 ppm.

    It always happens this way...ya can't, until ya DO. The question is: was going to kegging life changing in the brewing game for you? Bonus question: Do you feel PRESSURE to keep such a large keezer fully stocked? Personally, kegging my beer was a game changer...but I don't want such a large keezer. It is a VERY NICE build though! Cheers!

    • @BrewCabin
      @BrewCabin Рік тому

      I've been kegging for a very long time (since 2008). I hated bottling so much that it was the first upgrade I ever made to my brewing equipment. My friend had an old kegerator he gave to me. It was from the 80s with one tap. I used that thing until it eventually died.
