@@zanesonpc i found out later that it has incredibly low turn on characteristics, hardly needs any power to turn on. I can put one end of the bulb to the battery and hold the other end between two fingers, touch the other battery terminal and the electricity flows through me. Funny thing is, i don’t think i was touching any metal when i filmed that so how? It would have to AC instead of DC because my body could act as a capacitor, storing electricity and letting it go on each half cycle of the AC sine wave. Not sure if u know. DC Is direct current(batteries, vandegraf generators, DC motor generators) a steady flow of positive power. AC is alternating current. It alternates. Up and down like a wave. It is a wave. It can go from 0 to +12 to 0 to +12 to 0 to +12 volts or -12volts through 0 to +12volts and then back down through zero. Or -12, 0, -12 Where DC might be any steady enough value

When I was 6 I drowned in the river in a storm because i didn’t want to walk against the cliff where all the snake hiding spots were. It’s like they say. They more afraid of us. Most snakes won’t actually bite unless u step on them, and in America you will be hard pressed to die by a snake bite. I got over my thing with wolf spiders. The one’s people so commonly mistake for brown recluse, which is unfortunate because people kill the wolf spiders thinking its a recluse, unknowingly opening the door wide open for the recluse to thrive with no predators. Lucky they are everywhere. They are super fun too! People hate em but they don’t bite so u can screw with people. I love the videos of people killing the lumpy ones, not realizing the lumps is thousands of babies. Mom made that mistake. Thought she was being murdered lol. @@FrancoM7747 sorry to hear that. I thought I had a short that explained the bypass method. Idk what happened. But all u gotta do is find a 5-10k resistor. Idk why I said high voltage in this video, I never even measured the voltage lol. I think i had just assumed. Like what if someone puts deionized water in that thing? Its not going to work. Hell, even distilled might give issues. So I guess I figured itd have to be more than 5volts in case someone did put in distilled water. Anyway, where that stupid hole is where the water comes out, there is that peg that we see is dirty, but there is also a screw. The screw goes rusty. U can replace with stainless steel or a random screw that fits but it will rust. Now i know damn well i filmed it. I must not have edited it or maybe its stuck on private, il check. Ill be back if i find it. But i took the rusted screw out and cut the point off so it wouldn’t get nasty, and then i put my resistor from that screw to the screw that holds the peg, and I threw the peg away. U can get a resistor from some old electronics, they all have code on them. U can use a piece of nichrome wire from an old vape. Any old vape. Just dig out the coil. Yeah, tbh, It doesn’t really need it. A float switch in the bottom would work great. I totally bypassed that thing because mine rusted! Lol it’s just a resistor of arbitrary value across the two test points. I have a short about it. Even if it runs out of water, the pump only runs for a few moments. It wont get damaged. They could easily make a model where u can hook up a water line. Could mod one. There is enough space. U know, there is capacitive water sensors that work through plastic. Why didn’t they just use that? But id use that and a traditional solenoid valve. They make em small. All u really need to complete it is a water filter, line, and a few fittings. Honestly sounds like it could be expensive. I’ve never bought fittings online before. Can get a water valve cheap I’m sure. Besides, the hardware store won’t have the a tank breakthrough fitting tho u could always diy some stuff. I love putty epoxy!

Well I certainly don’t know as much as I should. Mainly all the simple math stuff. Ohms law is the only one ive been able to remember. Once you get into radio, electronica goes from legos to witchcraft real fast lol. I can make allot of assumptions off the wave models in my head but things need to be exact for peak power and efficiency so requires math. One day I hope to put it in a neat little package for people to learn. I want someone to be able to take an hour long video and from no knowledge, be able to make a transmitter and receiver of any frequency. Right now, my motivation is, god forbid there’s ever some freak solar storm or china topples our dollar and making chips becomes impossible, ill have tubes

Its been what, 6 months? Lol it really works! Keep in mind tho, i used a bunch of jb weld on it. Even without the jb weld, id trust it. Next time tho, im ripping off the solenoid and replacing it with a switch or relay and then there is a fork that sends out the pinion gear to the flywheel, imma tie some rope to that. So when i wanna start the truck i pull the rope and hit the switch. I found out today there’s old trucks that had a foot pedal instead of a rope. Guess it was too reliable

Oh god yes! Doing it for a split second isn’t that bad. A real xray tube would have far more power and even that wouldn’t be so bad. Now if i stood in front of it every day then I might be in trouble. Also if you stand far enough away, the inverse square law will keep u safe.

Definitely, I learned something I doubt ill find one quite like the one i would need and I wanted it to be made from trash essentially, lol. Or at least in theory. Ill just do more wraps. U talking about crystal radio? Lots of people including me still make them. Haven’t since I was a kid but yeah. Imma make another here soon tho. I have the itch. There was a brand quartz which put out radios with their clock in them. Maybe there’s more to that but i was born in the 90s so idk. I sure wish Heithkit was still a thing. Like how cool is it to build ur own oscilloscope or multimeter. And they were big and machine like too. You would likely understand how it works by the time ur done. Not with the new stuff where the micro is already soldered to the board but thats okay, just takes more effort to build something cool

A better question is why’d you watch it? Lol im just playing. It’s supposed to be hooked up to a monitor(x,y display or oscilloscope) and it displays a bunch of ones and zeros. Its a digital signal analyzer. So you would hook this up to whatever you wanted to analyze, like say the memory bus of a computer and the machine will spit out the binary data on that bus for you to look thru. Used to find irregularities and errors and bugs. A machine that does the same nowadays fits in the palm of ur hand lol. This one here is not well at all. Its been outside for 20 years so who knows all whats wrong but I at least managed to fix the power supply. I think the caps just needed reforming. I forgot what exactly i did to fix it.

Indeed. Im investing in some ppe and a geiger counter before I do anymore experiments. This was fine. Probably no more of a dose than being on a plane for a few hours. Maybe less. We will find out when the geiger counter comes in. I did keep the big thick metal filled transformer between the xray tube and my balls.

@@Wtfinc It was DEFINITELY more than an airplane dose. The blue glow in the glass means a SHIT ton of xrays were smashing into you. Your balls might be ok, but your body around them was definitely not happy about that

It is a old rectifier tube from an old TV I found in a collapsed house. I hooked it up to a 15kv transformer and a variac to limit to 7kv. This tube is only meant to rectify 500 volts but at 7kv cold cathode or 2kv hot cathode(i blew the cathode by accident) this tube will emit xrays in unknown to me quantitys. I’m pausing the xray experiments for a bit until my geiger counter comes in. Hopefully with it will come some HV diode, mini 10kv transformer, some HV caps, and a real xray tube. Im going to make something actually kinda scary. I will have to control for allot of safety aspects. Its going to be allot of fun.

Technically it’s a particle accelerator. It makes X-rays. The slight blue flash is the Xrays going through the glass. I had a better visual demonstration but I ran out of HV diodes. But ill be making a more dangerous one in the next day or so.
