Writing Center at Yale

The Writing Center at Yale is part of a critical network of academic support for undergraduate students, hosting over 10K sessions in the 2021-22 year.
The center is staffed by 14 professional writing tutors in the Residential Colleges, as well as by the Writing Partners, a team of 100+ Yale College and graduate students - selected for both their writing skills and ability to talk about writing. During drop-in hours, students with any level of ability can bring their papers for substantial advice about structure, analysis, and developing a thesis. In addition, approximately 200 students, many of them international students, are assigned a tutor who they meet with 6 to 10 times over the semester.
The Yale Writing Center is a part of the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning, which also provides support for graduate students and faculty.
