Nice job! You picked the busiest weekend to go because classes at School of Mines started the following Monday, the 21st, so there were lots of parents in town, upperclassmen moving back, and special events for incoming freshmen. If you go back, I highly recommend the Mines Museum. I went expecting it to be kind of lame but, unlike the other museums that underwhelmed you, it was really cool and it's free. Gemstones and minerals from around the world, plus displays about the history of mining.
Agreed! The Mines Museum is amazing and, if you haven't toured Coors, it's worth a visit as well. D'deli is a great choice for lunch but get their early before they run out of bread. You just hit it on a very busy weekend with Mines fall semester beginning. Our son is a grad of Mines but we still stop in Golden when we're in the area. Great video.
@skilodgecolorado, if you had to suggest an area for a 58 year old single woman with a 27 year old son, to live in Colorado, where would it be? Keeping in mind my comfort zone for home price is no more than 200k. I like to go walking, riding a bicycle and hiking (as long as I don’t get eaten by a bear) 😎

We'll have to check it out! Thanks

Nice place but really a lot of people that day. Thank you!
There’s free parking lot for Clear Creek and walking around about four or five blocks from downtown just north east of Coors
