Remember this game so vividly. An 8 year old boy at the time, this tournament was my introduction to big tournaments. Sadly we won it, and my life has been a deroute ever since, haha! But what the hell is up with having Papin taking corners, he is the goalgetter. Fantastic roster of the french team, but their heyday would arrive some six years later. Denmark were sort of winging it all the way through, and hadn't qualified for the tournament. But having said that, we beat three of the better sides in european football after not scoring in the two first games of the tournament. Magic summer of 92 was a sweetness I haven't seen since.
It was a dark period for French football: after the 3rd place at 1986 World Cup, we didn't qualify for Euro 88, World Cup 90 and 94. And the Euro 92 was disappointing. We expected much more from the Papin and Cantona generation.
