It is pretty clear the reason for the downturn in Tesla was delaying 8/8. I don't think people who sold stock because of a 2-month delay are doing the right thing, but that's clearly what happened. I don't believe Tesla would delay the RoboTaxi event because they want to finish the van prototype - they never said it would be part of it so why delay it for that? I think it is more likely they've been given some encouraging news about approval to launch the service, likely in China, and waiting 2 months will allow them to announce it along with putting the finishing touches on the CyberCab prototype(s).

The delay was simply an excuse. Whenever you have an epic breakout like TSLA had you have lots of traders looking for any excuse to sell. These moments give you a good chance to gauge what portion of owners are in for the long haul and what percentage or looking to just pile on momentum--it is revealed by how much it falls.

No. The short-sellers see the writing on the wall. They are bailing. So, stocks down slightly. From now on, stocks will be moved by loyalists (those who see the actual value of Tesla as a corporation and not a mere stock).

A gen 2.5 care would use gen 3 components in a mostly boxed linear process. Gen 3 components can in many cases be optimized elements of the CyberTruck, 48V, ...by-view, toke ethernet, unpainted panels...

Slightly smaller castings front and rear. Different body lines. (All that means is new molds on existing equipment) The $1000 low power drive unit. Metal roof. 48v for less wire weight and cost. Either net for less wire weight and cost. Smaller LiPo battery. If that drops the cost from $38900 to $32500 that is significant. If batteries can be sourced correctly to get IRA credit, thats your $25k car.
In after-hours TSLA closed at $236.75 which is almost exactly 10% lower than the $263.38 open.

Brian White just told TeslaFix that he expects the semi factory to be operational in the first half of 2026.
Regarding the v2.5 model(s): It is important to remember that when Elon approved the CyberCab and the next-gen consumer vehicle would share the same platform. That pretty much guarantees that the v2.5 and the next gen vehicle are not the same. I suspect the front end of the v2.5 will be very similar to the 3/Y, the back end will be a hatchback styled in a very similar style, and the interior will be less well-appointed. RWD with the range at the low end, AWD with longer range available as an option.
I think there is a lack of the understanding of the impact of licensing FSD. That would only happen when Tesla would make FSD open source and under control of a standard organization like SAE. This is what happened with the NACS, which is what other vendors are adapting. FSD is fare from a state where this can be a locked down standard. Other manufacturer will and can't put their fait in the hands of Tesla, as it will control/define all their future products.
When you said 80% of the rally was in the top six stocks two or three weeks ago I cutback and went to a more balanced stock portion of my portfolio. I missed the top of the Mag 6 but I’m still glad I did what I did…however if and when t.he market realizes we’ve been in a recession I expect the broad market to also cutback…just not as much. I’m closely monitoring the bond market…waiting for that day! Inverse reverse! 😂😂😂
Prototypes are irrelevant for RoboTaxi success and the initial implementation have to be based on Model 3/Y.
What is relevant is when FSD is L4 (minimally in a geographical area). For me this point to the delay of 12.4 and subsequent FSD releases is the direct cause to the delay of the RoboTaxi event. You can't have an event with a person driving a RoboTaxi on stage the car has to drive itself and there has to be a blueprint for how this can be implemented or the stock will go down.
A blue print is what Dan Ives has be asking for.
And the hyper fan boy speculation on the 8/8 move rumor begins.

As long as we are gaming different reasons for the likely delay in Robotaxi unveil, we have to consider that the FSD revisions (versions coming out) has slowed down. Musk himself admitted that now with fewer interventions they have to go through a lot more miles of driving data to improve the software. This will make the tail longer and longer such that improvement has stalled again before FSD was Robotaxi worthy. In other words they might have hit the limit of this version of FSD and further improvement might be very protracted unless they come up with a different method of improving it ( increased dependence on simulations maybe, don't know).
I am not saying this what has happened but it is one of the possibilities. BTW I appreciate that you at least addressed the topic. All other Tesla UA-camrs have disappeared..... Very interesting.
