I just realised that the night shot I used as an example accidentally had a LUT on it so the colours are CRAZY over saturated and exposed. Not really a good example of how good it normally looks anymore. Sorry!
I stumbled upon your videos and I appreciate how down to earth you are. Most content creators make me feel that without expensive, new and latest gear, my simple videos will be crap. But you inspire me to do the best with what I have. Keep being awesome.
the stick on the 360 being invisible is the coolest thing. I'm not 100% up for buying one myself..... yet, but they are getting cooler! I've got the peak design bag clip, and for hiking its been so good! not having to carry it, or have the camera swinging from my neck or tucked away in my bag, has been so good! I love how honest your reviews are, even when you've been given things for free!
You've got a new subscriber. Your satirical video about being a travel youtuber got my attention, but I'm two extra videos in now and I'm sold. I love how genuine and real you are. I really love your filming style.
bingeing on your recent videos to the old ones definitely noticed the energy shifts. so much laughing on new videos and a little less serious on old ones. still enjoyed watching the videos!
Always great to see an upload from you. Something cool about the Sony A7s3 is it has 2 native "Dual ISO" settings, which it is cleanest at. Here's a list of Low / High ISOs: Slog 2/3: 640 / 12800 PP Off: 80 / 1600 Cine 2: 50 / 1000 Cine 4: 100 / 2000 You'll notice how much better 12800 is for example than 10,000 when in Slog for example.
I had been wanting the A7III for a while but I REALLY appreciate that you put this out. The A7SIII it is! I personally don't mind the audio issues as much because my aim is to capture the visuals of the environment I am in rather than the noise / chatter / etc... I definitely do want to stick with Sony, though, as I find it's the best camera for my experience level. It's the camera that I'm the most comfortable with. Thank you, Hannah! Edit: also.. that slurp with the GoPro mouthpiece... LOL.
360 cameras are a lot of fun. We did the go-karting around Shibuya back in February, and I attached my Insta360 to the kart. You do have to look after the lenses on 360 cameras quite carefully.
Hey Hannah! You were one of my motivation to start a youtube channel. So glad you turned to 360 videography! I had issues too with the reframe360 plugin, but worth to try it on free Davinci, where for me at last it was working flawlessly. Before that I was using the insta apps and phone, but somehow I felt my hands tied. Well with the plugin a week training and post process felt like flying. Still a long way to learn for me, but challenges makes self improvement faster! I got today my first drone so excited to try it, but the weather here is not welcoming yet.
Having recently seen some videos with people using presumably the same type of action camera, I’m SOO happy to figure out how TF they did it. Happy new year Hannah!
As a photography and videography nerd, this video was pure gold. You're actually one of the reasons I've decided to splurge on a DJI drone (the Mavic Air 2 honestly)!
Hannah, I've noticed that you've actually converted from B-Roll to Hamster-Roll. Don't change that, it's the perfect upgrade...😉 👍🏼 😁 ( I'm a Trooper too, great video. 💗 )
I love your videos! You rock 👍 I got lost in the jargon when you talked about your gimble I think yet this video was a great encouragement and inspiration to start videography, thank you and Happy New Year! I wish you comfort of your heart and many many job opportunities in 2021!
10:38 that Color in the transition, momentary Rocky Horror moment? I like Final Cut prtffftftfttt As someone who has used fcpx and Adobe premiere, I say don”t "upgrade", FCPX is fine, it’s more than fine. Don’t get sucked into monthly or yearly bills you don’t need! I only maintain Premiere due to the plugins I bought, and my Mac is suuuuuper old.
I like your new little creature featuring in your video. But one question. I only have lament knowledge about cameras. Is it okay to leave the camera without the lens attached?
Wondering if the jack on the lav mic cable is a factor on the multiple A73 audio input failures and the audio glitch in the A7S3. Hope to get a demo of the low light chops of the A7S3. The f4 on the wide zoom won't be a show stopper. Thanks for all your hard work/walks in 2020. 👍
So fun! I've been wanting a Peak design clip for a longgggg time and wow what an awesome tripod too! Good to hear more positive reviews about Peak Design. Also, love all the shots with Mochi :)
You've got that 'Vermeer' window light thing going on .... Very Beautiful ! Your photography really sets your videos apart ..... Well that and the music and the editing and that you are soooo fun and attractive ...... ! Happy New Year ..... All the best !!!!
Lovely ... Great to hear comment on the A7SIII ... seems like the perfect camera for video? ... keen to hear about your audio jack resolution... !! keep us informed.
Happy New Year Hannah! I always watch your videos til the end. I am hoping to see you once day in Japan. Just a glimpse of you coz I really admire you. haha
Hi Hannah, Happy New Year! May I suggest trying these for your audio: Avantree Lock aptX Low Latency Wireless Transmitter and Receiver Set. I believe Gerald Undone featured this in one of his videos about wireless recording. This might help you reduce the wear and tear of your audio jack. Cheers!
Great video, especially your product backdrop, and the hamster. Why was your main video creation tool - your laptop - left out of a gear video? Seems like a significant omission.
The focus issue with your a7iii is not the camera but most likely the nifty 50. It has terrible auto focus, you need to get the 55mm F1.8. One of the best lenses.
Hannah, how can I know the source of the music at the beginning of your film? I can't find it in the musicbed. I hope you can tell me the title of the song😳
Finally got a notificsation! It's been so long!!! Happy New Year Hannah! I haven't commented in a long time, but proud of your channel's success, growth, and epicness. Let 2021 bring us some more amazing videos from you
the Insta360 actually fits for a car/motor bike cam recorder, do they have that kind of version or can we use this one and just plug it on top of the car/helmet lol.
Interesting review - very helpful. I am sure a lot of people will benefit. You are a champion for the concept of learning how to use the gear and getting the most out of it. You did not discuss any courses or educational resources you use. Any books or courses you would recommend? Gimbals are interesting. I used to do a lot of wildlife photography with some heavy camera and lens combos and this would have been very difficult (actually impossible) without a gimbal. I also liked how I could get smooth camera movement. But while I still have the gimbal (all the DSLRs and big telephotos are gone for lighter gear), it does not get a lot of use. Resale value is not great though, even worse than camera bodies and lenses, so it lives on top of my tripod, glaring at me. All the best for 2021 and thank whatever that this horrible year is over.
I wonder if the insta360 can be attached to a drone but I would assume most drones have fixed cameras on them. If you can it will certainly be cool to experience at least to me😁
Really impressed by the idea that you make those traveling shots without a gimbal! Does that take performer-level muscle control or is it mainly about controlling the speed and will image stabilization do the rest? I'm wondering if someone with jittery arms like me could do it :). Also, that go pro mouthpiece is hilarious! And practical, obviously. Happy New Year!
Thank you so much! At the beginning of making a video, is it tougher for you to start or is it tougher for you to finish a video? Also, what do you feel like you have improved since the beginning of being a content creator on UA-cam?
Great video Hannah! I'm looking into the Peak Design travel tripod, you really think the carbon fiber is worth 2x the cost? Is the weight really that noticeable? lol kind of torn but it seems like a tripod to use for years and years and maybe I should just do the carbon one.
Hamster 🐹 camera 📸 reference 🤣😂🤣😂. I’m watching and just hoping no crumbs make it in there. Happy New Year and thanks for your enjoyable awesome content. Looking forward to you on CH7 2021 👍🏻
happy New Year Hannah - stay safe and keep vlogging. Cheers from Australia. also Hannah is a great name - only three letters with each letter repeated! So cool!
LOVE GETTING NEW GEAR! As shit as 2020 was, i also upgraded all my gear too (lumix G9 and also a Gopro Max). I used a nikon keymission 360 on my last trip to japan, but without stabilisation, the footage is so ordinary. How much do u love the instamax being so stable!! Seems like it was only yesterday you got the A7iii (didn't you used to shoot with an RX100?). Loved seeing the B-roll of the Ham with the Cam. i will buy your old camera gimbal if you still have it by the time we can travel again in 2022.... holy crap Victoria and NSW still can't get a handle on the Big C
Love my FeiyuTech gimbal. Bought it the last time you reviewed it. Really interested in trying out a 360 camera. I was going to do scenic motorcycle videos with two or three GoPros, but I could just use two 360 cameras. 🤔 Also really want a Mavic. If you ever upgrade, I'll take the old one off your hands lol. In Japan now, so I've got to start making a videography plan! Only eight billion hours of motorcycle classes needed...
I think Sony wants people to buy the bus powered multi directional mic. Around AUD400. The audio jack definitely has a problem. A carry over from the A7III.
Great video, what are you doing for client work these days in Japan? would love to collab one day. (Sorry to point this out but 10:39 over lap in grading maybe?) Happy New Year!
Thanks for sharing 😁👍. I wonder if anyone knows if Canon has an SLR similar to the A7SIII for cinematics? I’ve always been a stills photographer and my 1D mark 3 might need an upgrade if I start shooting video. I learn a lot from your videos and feel inspired to be creative pretty much every time. Cheers! 😊🙏
Thank you for such an informative video! Where did you get the GoPro mouth piece from if you don't mind me asking? All the ones I've found so far are huge with a mouth guard which isn't quite as subtle or cute as yours x
looking at the hamster eating the bread full of crumbs seems very safe right next to the camera sensor :D Anyways, enjoy your new gear! The content u gonna make with those r just as beautiful as your eyes :)
Hi Hannah! Can we please get a “what’s in my hiking bagpack” video? It would be great if you can also cover shoes, pants, jackets.. that sort of thing.. Cheers from an old sub

Happy new year! It's such a fun shot, but massive stress seeing your hamster next to an open camera sensor with all those crumbs too! D:
Hahaha I had a similar thought but it was too cute to stop!
bingeing on your recent videos to the old ones definitely noticed the energy shifts. so much laughing on new videos and a little less serious on old ones. still enjoyed watching the videos!
Your gear knowledge is priceless to anyone making videos. Your amazing videos are a testament to that. Thanks for what you do!
The 4k and colours look crispy! Happy New Year Hannah.
Suhhh crispy! Loving it so far. Happy New Year to you too!
Always great to see an upload from you. Something cool about the Sony A7s3 is it has 2 native "Dual ISO" settings, which it is cleanest at.

Another great video Hannah. Thanks for taking the time to talk about gear and setup. 👍😃
Thanks Hannah, I loved every minute of this video. Easily the funniest and most entertaining gear video on UA-cam.
I came here for the gear run down but a stayed for the A1 Mochi content. Such a cutie pie. 😱😍😍😍

For the mic, you can buy Sony ECM-B1M. It's a digital microphone, it's WITHOUT cable and the quality is great.
I like your new little creature featuring in your video. But one question. I only have lament knowledge about cameras. Is it okay to leave the camera without the lens attached?
Happy New Year, Hannah! You've got the world at your feet; go forth and vlog!
Have you thought about switching mic to the Sony ECM-B1M? No cable no battery just connects to your hotshoe.
I think you're the only person whose gear I'm genuinely interested in. Happy New Year, Hannah!!
I let out an audible "awwww" with mochi sniffing the PD clip (and laughed when s/he stuffed bread into the cheeks)

It makes a difference, the added weight kind of grows as a pain exponentially so for example if your lugging it around on foot you can go much further
