I was having trouble getting my button holer to work and because of your explanation, I discovered the problem!!
I had the door to the bobin case closed and the gear would not turn.
I watched several videos on this and you are the only one who showed how to check to see that the gear turned!!

Thank you so much, I now know I am missing a couple parts I have the plastic cam, and zigzag plate, but not the front cover that reads the cam and feds it how it should.
Had this machine 3 years, thank you!
Also know now to I only have the zigzag plate, I need to find a straight stitch plate, it makes the minor issues I have had make since.
