    I'm made the change recently from having coffee in the morning to matcha. Mind you, I don't add sugar to my coffee or matcha. I've noticed just after a few days that my stomach is hardly upset anymore, my anxiety has gone down, concentrating is easier, I actually eat less, and I feel happy and calm over all. As someone with ADHD as well, this has greatly impacted me and all my routines as a whole. Watching this video filled in the missing pieces of why I was suddenly noticing improvement overall in my health. Thank for for this informative video! Cheers! x

    Being caffeine sensitive myself, I actually find matcha to effect me in positive ways, not negative like coffee.
    In the morning, when I drink it, I do usually have an empty stomach, but adding some milk to the tea for the first one seems to help with any discomfort.

My curiosity got the best of me! And because I do enjoy drinking teas and am extremely health conscious, I thought I'd browse UA-cam for a video to teach me more about it. As one who only drinks Oolong and Keemun, I often wondered about the hype associated with green as opposed to darker teas. I think it was Healthcare Triage where they said it could be because people counteract the (minimal) healthful properties of darker teas (as well as ruining the tea) by adding cow udder exudate.

    I have a question. Do you have any suggestions for which matcha to buy from Amazon?

      Thank you! Since we supply and drink our own we have not tasted any Matcha on Amazon but look for Ceremonial Grade A and confirm that it has been shaded for at least 10 days before picking.

    From the Wikipedia entry on Theanine:
    "A Natural Standard monograph that reviews current research on theanine reports that it is likely safe in doses of 200-250 mg up to a maximum daily dose of 1,200 mg. Though some people use theanine for these purposes, Natural Standard rates the evidence to support the usage for anxiety reduction, blood pressure control, and mood improvement as "unclear or conflicting scientific evidence" and the evidence for improved cognition as "fair negative scientific evidence". Many of the studies of theanine were done in combination with caffeine as found in tea. While the studies found that the combination had some effect on mood, the studies found that theanine alone had little effect.[37] A review by other researchers of a small set of trials concluded that there are benefits of L-theanine in reducing acute stress and anxiety in people with stressful conditions.[38]"
    So the science on Theanine is unclear.

    I bought a matcha at a local Japanese sushi/market store, and the matcha was Sugimoto tea Daily Matcha. It has a USDA organic stamp on it, but I wonder if it tasted good and if it tasted like real matcha.

      Daily matcha usually means standard. So it's a normal quality.

    Since Theanine works on the brain in a way that is similar to what some medications do, is there a recommended (or maximum) ammount of Theanine (or matcha) that we should consume?

    • @Nioteas
      @Nioteas 5 років тому +2

      Mohammed Al Ali i think there is no maximum amount of theannine you can consume but matcha is quite a strong tea so I would not go over 1 matcha a day. If you want to drink more green tea than one try to drink different during the day. For example a matcha or gyokuro in the morning and then switch to sencha for the later morning or afternoon.
