I'm made the change recently from having coffee in the morning to matcha. Mind you, I don't add sugar to my coffee or matcha. I've noticed just after a few days that my stomach is hardly upset anymore, my anxiety has gone down, concentrating is easier, I actually eat less, and I feel happy and calm over all. As someone with ADHD as well, this has greatly impacted me and all my routines as a whole. Watching this video filled in the missing pieces of why I was suddenly noticing improvement overall in my health. Thank for for this informative video! Cheers! x
This is likely the l-theanine that it includes, for months i have taken that specific compound as a supplement with coffee and have found similar benefits
I just tried this today and it really got the effect of coffee in the morning, not as quick but still, and I feel calmer
Which matcha did you use?
@@_laifishardisntit_1379 same question
I'm surprised something that can make you feel so good isn't illegal. Guess the government doesn't know yet.
If Nestle would sell a Matchaproduct they would colour dirt green and sell it double the price than real matcha
match is crazy expensive at the Bulk Barn
and people would buy it in mass
nestle product are gmo.. nestle is super evil fuck nestle i really hate nestle dont buy nestle boycott nestle
@@edwardcm9175 Im all for boycotting Nestlé but do you know how big they are? They're EVERYWHERE. I literally stumble upon random stuff in my home and suddenly find out that Nestlé is behind those products and everytime Im like wtf... It kind of seems like we cant even live without Nestlé products and we don't even know it.
You forgot the 1kgs of sugar they add per 100g of green dirt
Being caffeine sensitive myself, I actually find matcha to effect me in positive ways, not negative like coffee.
In the morning, when I drink it, I do usually have an empty stomach, but adding some milk to the tea for the first one seems to help with any discomfort.
I've never wanted a cup of Macha more than after watching this video! :) thanks.
+Skok w Bok Blog :)
This was the single most helpful collection of information I have found yet! Thank you!
:) happy that you found us Colleen
completely agree, subscribed within half a minute. clear and concise
Agree, very informative video. You're stunning, that was captivating (but I'm also very interested by the matcha, I just bought it and I did first fails with the chasen hehe, it was well mixed, no residual powder, but I added too much water for the cream/bubbles) ! It looks the Matcha has a good influence on you. :o)
That's true about the theanine, I really feel something different, I was way more focused on my occupation, with a better self-control.
Floxit that's how I feel about yerba mate
DEVEINING leaves? No wonder it costs so much! That is intense work, I would imagine. I hope these workers are being paid well.
Well, the Japanese HAVE sort of always been known for precision and design, OCD is a by-product lol
@@lucylulusuperguru3487 😁😁😁
Thanks weeaboo
They get paid well there.
Or they are third world people being paid mere pennies while importers get rich.
Im so happy channels like this exist. There are enthusiasts for EVERYTHING!
Wow, this guy knows his shit! I'm impressed!
I'll second that.
He would do well selling used cars..!!!!!
And he isn’t even Japanese lol
No shit Sherlock. :) He definitely knows his shit from shinola.
I wish I watched this video a few years earlier. I recently converted to matcha from coffee. I find myself healthier and have lost weight!!! Amazing stuff!
I am a big matcha enthusiast (also Japanese tea ceremony) and I enjoyed your delightful way of explaining matcha. Also a big thank you for mentioning the problem with radiation since I think that it is really important to mention and unfortunately most of the people are ignoring. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos, especially the ones on tea tasting on Chinese teas since I want to learn more about that topic. 😀🍵💚
I just found this channel and I'm in love!! Can't wait to binge every episode
I love how thorough every video is ! Thank you for educating me so well !
Great pacing of to-the-point, incredibly relevant and helpful information delivered in the perfect customer-friendly pitch! Don, this is one of the best vlogs in any category that I've watched in a very long time. Thank you! I wonder if there's a Mei Leaf in NY? You won a new subscriber and fan.
I so appreciate ALL of these tea videos that you do! Please keep them coming! It's made such a difference in my life. Thank you!
What an amazing gift the knowledge of this video brings. Thank you!
This was the best treatise on Matcha I have seen after MANY videos. Kudos!!!
I have never drunk matcha but thanks to your video, and other stimuli, such as when I was browsing what is trending on a shopping site, and I had come across a ceremonial matcha brewing set. My curiosity got the best of me! And because I do enjoy drinking teas and am extremely health conscious, I thought I'd browse UA-cam for a video to teach me more about it. There was only two other videos I'd watched prior to viewing yours and without taking anything away from the previous videos I've seen you all contributed greatly to my gnosis of matcha. Thank you very much.
Man...You totally captivated me. There's no way a person can disagree/dislike you.such a powerful communicator :)
Best and most informative video about matcha 🍵 I have found so far! Thank You so much for sharing this! 🙂
Excellent presentation and a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for this and please keep them coming.
I love matcha and had no idea how time and labor-intensive it is to make. Thank you very much for this video.
Best video on matcha I have ever watched; so informative! Thank you!
Fantastic!!! I was looking for some good technical/scientific information out there and stumbled across your video. The best I've ever ever watched about matcha tea. Thank you!!!
Wow!! Amazing video. So much information. Love the scientific background.
Well explained, you really have a way to communicate. Very informative. Thank you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, finally a good expert in tea who can teach us in a easy way and with REAL information about tea and Matcha. Thank you!!! And Thank you Mei Leaf because you're one of my favourite Tea Shop in London!!!!! :D
Love the fact you used science for biochemical reactions and general overview of this video was perfect. Well done, and Thank You.
This was a very interesting and helpful video on Matcha tea! Thank you so much! :)
Very complete video. It gathers all the right info you need to know about matcha before purchasing and consuming it. Very clear explanations. Big thumb up from Canada.
Thank you!
What an incredibly informing video. Thanks for posting, I just ordered some matcha and I dove in before knowing everything I wanted to know. This is great.
Thanks Don.
I love watching your videos.
I'm at the beginning of a real matcha journey and I learned all I know from you.
Can't wait to get an order from London as soon as I am able.
So informative. Thanks for making this!
Wow, I was just wondering what matcha was since I see people walking out of Starbucks with it all the time and I was clueless as to what I was missing out on. This was an incredibly informative and well-articulated rabbit hole I've fallen into. Thank you!
This is the first video from your channel and I immediately clicked the subscribe button. Great video!
This incredibly helpful, fascinating, and tons of information. Thank you. Glad I found this channel.
Brilliant. Thank you for your mindfulness and insight to help all us beginners. Especially helpful was the tip on storage as here in Florida summers the entire state is in the steamy aracha state for six months.
The most informative video I've ever seen on UA-cam, well done! And I watch a lot of videos!
High praise indeed thank you very much for watching.
One of the best video I have ever seen about matcha
I didn't know what Matcha was, and now I'm blown away by the information in this video. Going to buy some for sure. Thanks.
As one who only drinks Oolong and Keemun, I often wondered about the hype associated with green as opposed to darker teas. I think it was Healthcare Triage where they said it could be because people counteract the (minimal) healthful properties of darker teas (as well as ruining the tea) by adding cow udder exudate.
Some people may find this boring but I love how detailed the information is. Ive been wanting to get some high quality Matcha tea, but there seems to be a lot of garbage out there so I feel like this will help a lot with chosing the right brand. Thanks!
And his voice and articulation. Perfect
I had my first ever matcha today from my local coffee shop in Melbourne and it's incredible how much better I feel in comparison from drinking coffee. This is incredible content, so informative! keen to buy some ceremonial grade matcha!
Wow! Highly educational. Subscribed after one minute! Thanks
Thank you for this VLOG. Very interesting and informative. I am new to matcha, and really appreciated you taking the time to explain the history and show the variations and the benefits of matcha.
I noticed there were a lot of matcha teas out there in the market, and it can be quite confusing and intimidating, especially after reading all the reviews.
I would really like to try this tea, considering all the benefits. Thank you once again. 🙂
Excellent !!!!!!!!! Thank you for this video.
This was so helpful! And very informative. Great video! Hit everything I need to learn about matcha and all of my questions.
I love this presentation. Matcha green tea is soooooo AWESOME!!!
Thank you for educating me on Matcha. I had no idea of the many steps needed to create matcha. I just thought they powdered dried green tea.
Great informative video, clearly presented, thank you so much.
Thanks Naomi!
never understud what matcha was until now! thank you very much for posting this type of videos!
Thanks for all the Information! To me you´re very sympathetic and now I´m eager to learn more!
I really like your presentation.. I learned so much about matcha and with the physiology knowledge that's a great touch, you earned a sub
Thank you for watching and commenting and WELCOME!
Thanks for the informative video! Looking forward to drinking matcha
...and I became a Matcha expert! Very informative video! My new favourite channel! Thanks!
I love everything about this channel.
I'll be recommending and promoting your video for my online family to check it out! Well made, thank you! Thumbs up!‼️
Thanks Maria!
I rarely comment on youtube, but that was such an informative video! Job very well done!
:) thanks for commenting
I bought matcha last week only because the packaging said it helps with concentration. After watching your video I am even more happy i bought it and will continue to drink.
This was absolutely amazing. On the strength of this video alone, I think I'll be buying my macha from you in future!
Lately I love to mix gyokuro green tea with matcha. I don't usually like to mix teas, but they compliment each other nicely. Glad you mentioned about the radiation. Always something to be concerned about. Your shop is one of the few that I trust, because I know you are looking for and offering only the best and purest teas.
Matcha definitely works very well with other Japanese green teas, thanks for commenting!
I would highly recommend Sugimoto ceremonial grade matcha. Its $30 for 28 grams but they also have a 100 gram pouch for $80. They offer free shipping on any orders over $75 too
J Stud try rishi teas matcha , very high quality
Thanks😊
I’ve been drinking ceremonial matcha for over a year. I add a tea bag of green tea, then blend with collagen, mct oil, a raw egg, and a little xylitol. This blend keeps empty stomach upset away. I still like coffee but the calming, pleasant feeling after a cup of matcha keeps me in the morning matcha habit.
I'm glad you mentioned about being nauseous, just as I was drinking it on an empty stomach... And feeling nauseous.
These videos are amazing. I could watch them all day.
+Tim Gleason Thank you! So happy that you are enjoying them and thanks for watching.
I agree
So happy I found your channel today, I LOVE tea and have been playing around with more body benefiting teas (rather than all the delicious blends I like to collect) and I just purchased a bunch of matcha this week and have been on a soapbox telling everyone about it lol
Again I agree - very helpful and clear explanations. Brilliant work.
This was the best video I've seen for macha, especially for beginners like me. I now have some great information, and a broder understanding. Thank you, well done!👏👏👏
omg I learned a tone about macha thanx you
Thanks for sharing the info about feeling nauseous. The first time I tried matcha I actually vomited. Ive been weary ever since. Ive just placed an order for some ceremonial grade matcha so will try drinking after eating. Thanks!
Really appreciate subtitles in this kind of video. Thanks a lot!
Pleasant teaching.
Great video! Thank you for the information. Excellent presentation! *Clarification:* If the tea has the USDA organic seal would the question regarding _radiation tested_ still apply or would that question be specific to teas that are not organic only? Thank you in advance for your response.
Trader Joe's are now carrying matcha tea and gosh what a great quality!!!! Love TJs
GREAT VIDEO FILLED WITH GREAT INFORMATION!
Your videos are informative. It encourages me consume tea the right way! You are Dr. Tea!
I'm changing my diet and this helped alot!! (I'm not over weight or anything I just want a healthier life) Thank you!
Matcha tea contains lead, which is poison.
best video on explaining matcha, I feel like a pro now, I threw away my brownish matcha from China and bought that green beauty food grade organic matcha from Costco that came from Japan
Love this video! I learned so much about Matcha as a beginner. I will definitely visit your store when I travel there!
Such a great video! Amazing content.
thank you for this amazing review/commentary.. ps: Thank you for pointing out the radiation values and how important it is to eat or drink organic.. Kind regards xx
We just found this out as well! So interesting 🧐
The Russian subtitles are funny to read, they are confusing sometimes and can make a native speaker smile :)
Thank you for useful and well systematized information. Good luck and good tea!
great sum up, I learned tons. thanks
Thank you! not only an extremely informative video - a very friendly one too!! (I didn't even think to ask about radiation testing..) - and after hearing your words on why.. it makes perfect sense and will be top of my checklist!
I'm looking forward to swapping my coffees out with more high quality matcha now.
Loved your video. Loved that you smiled. Have a smile back on my face and reminded me of the power it beholds. Furthermore, very informative video indeed. You'd make a great teacher. Anyone would love to sit and listen to you. Haha thank you.
Thanks, reading your comment brought a smile to our faces! Keep spreading the smiles and happy drinking.
That was the best and most informative video I've seen about Matcha so far!! So much better than all the american video's on here. Thankyou!
I've seen this video a year ago but still I come back just to refresh my mind about matcha. Very informative and useful. Thanks for sharing.
omg this is the most informative video on matcha green tea I've seen today and I've been watching a lot today!! thank you!.
I have a question. Do you have any suggestions for which matcha to buy from Amazon?
Thank you! Since we supply and drink our own we have not tasted any Matcha on Amazon but look for Ceremonial Grade A and confirm that it has been shaded for at least 10 days before picking.
Mei Leaf~What about radiation tested?
I am so happy to have found your video. You are a wonderful teacher. I do have a question, you mentioned that you supply your own Matcha. Do you offer it to the public for purchase? Thank you again.
Can you list the best Matcha product/s use.. Thanks
I've been using NOW matcha. I get it at fruitful yields
@@saffron1996 have you tried tenzo tea? I just ordered my first matcha batch from them. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you've tried them
Encha matcha, grace matcha, hibiki-an matcha, sazen matcha
@@seshumarioku i havent, but recently ive tried sazen's matcha narino single cultivar, and this one my aunt keeps buying
@@kwnwrestler16 thank you for listing these Matcha brands! I looked into each of them and they all seem like great choices!
Very awesome and informative video, thank you!
You give the best explanations. Hello from Costa Rica.... Coffee country par excellence... But I love tea
From the Wikipedia entry on Theanine:
"A Natural Standard monograph that reviews current research on theanine reports that it is likely safe in doses of 200-250 mg up to a maximum daily dose of 1,200 mg. Though some people use theanine for these purposes, Natural Standard rates the evidence to support the usage for anxiety reduction, blood pressure control, and mood improvement as "unclear or conflicting scientific evidence" and the evidence for improved cognition as "fair negative scientific evidence". Many of the studies of theanine were done in combination with caffeine as found in tea. While the studies found that the combination had some effect on mood, the studies found that theanine alone had little effect.[37] A review by other researchers of a small set of trials concluded that there are benefits of L-theanine in reducing acute stress and anxiety in people with stressful conditions.[38]"
So the science on Theanine is unclear.
if your only source is wikipedia then yes lol....wtf
I bought a matcha at a local Japanese sushi/market store, and the matcha was Sugimoto tea Daily Matcha. It has a USDA organic stamp on it, but I wonder if it tasted good and if it tasted like real matcha.
Daily matcha usually means standard. So it's a normal quality.
You are amazing, your videos are so rich, they have rewatch value.
Great video. Learned a lot.
Thank you.👌
I just recently became familiar with Matcha watching Dr Oz show. I was happy to find your video on UA-cam. Your explanation was very informative . Thank you. I will make sure to watch to watch your video on different ways to make Matcha
Thanks Hildy!
Since Theanine works on the brain in a way that is similar to what some medications do, is there a recommended (or maximum) ammount of Theanine (or matcha) that we should consume?
Mohammed Al Ali i think there is no maximum amount of theannine you can consume but matcha is quite a strong tea so I would not go over 1 matcha a day. If you want to drink more green tea than one try to drink different during the day. For example a matcha or gyokuro in the morning and then switch to sencha for the later morning or afternoon.
Outstanding video. Very authoritative and concise. Thank you for your efforts.
I was very hesitant to watch because it’s 15 minuets. I’m glad I watched it, it’s very helpful to help me start drinking matcha
