- After getting an additional 30 hours of heavy stick time with the Scuf Instinct Pro I have some additional thoughts. If you have not watched my initial review it is strongly recommended that you do for all tech specs, features, and detailed view of this controller and is linked below. The new rear button design replacing the paddles is great however pressing multiple buttons at a time can be confusing and the rubber compound got rather slippery after my 30 hour grind, and I have taken my weekly shower so my hand grease is minimal.

THE PADDLES!!!...i bought this exact controller off amazon because the scuf brand has always made good controllers and i need a new one. But, they have no videos showing the paddles which is the most important part, but your vid highlights the paddles, so now i know what to expect lol It's not here yet but im excited to use it, thanks for the video bruv!

I've had mine for about a year and a half, and I have to say that it's very nice (better be due to its price). The only real wear that I have noticed is that the right bumper is a little loose compared to the left. I use it quite often as a melee function, so... One thing to keep in mind if you buy the controller. Please, please bind stick click functions to the back buttons. It will save you from stick drift and improve the controllers lifetime drastically.
U get use to pressing the paddles with one finger on each side my only complain was wen i used batteries it would disconnect mid game after just a couple hrs of using it
Overall really like the remote
I usually only map jump and slide to the back bumpers, so it's perfect. The whole point of it is so you don't have to take your finger off the right/aim stick when you engaged in combat jumping and sliding.

Please answer this question. On the elite controller the biggest issue is clicking the left joy stick when it is maxed out in a direction. Say I have the left joystick at 10:00 all the way to edge and I tried clicking it, I can't do it. Does this controller have that same issue? The elite joysticks just pull off easy, whereas I heard these controllers you have to use a little tool to take them off. I think that's the issue I'm having with the elite controller
@@self-righteousideologue9398 no the instinct pro doesnt have same issue. Clicks in fine in any direction at max.
What game do you play where you don't have to reload, or interact with doors/objects on the fly? You absolutely do have to take your fingers off the stick when engaged in combat if you don't have more than two back inputs.
you can buy a player pack for 35bucks, it includes cable, gamer grip cream, extra joysticks, and carrying case, BUT, what disappoints me is the warranty
Also keep in mind how the buttons work too. They swap positions. IE if you make back paddle 1 "B" is swaps them. It doesn't just make the paddle "B". personally wasn't an issue but would be for most and is dumb it works that way. Also my back paddle broke in 40 days.
I have an elite series 2 and I play without the paddles on the back. I got it for the trigger stoppers and Im buying the instinct pro for the instant mouse click like triggers. Im just gonna disable the paddles and map them to the share button.
Still think the elite series has the best paddle placements.

How do the sticks feel compared to the reg series x controller ?
The power A cheapos are about 30$ at Walmart. They only have 2 back buttons but I’ve never needed 4.
They are cheap and break easy, but not as easy as the 200$ Xbox “elite” controller.
Does anyone find themselves hitting the back buttons by accident? That was my problem with the elite controller

I hope you can make an update video 6 months after using this controller, since Scuf only offers a 6 month warranty for this expensive controller. BTW can I suggest that you look at the Hypr Signature X FPS controller, it's a custom controller with 4 button design at the back. I really love your controller videos and I'd love to hear your opinion on them

Seems like a great paddle design. If you need to hit 2 back buttons at the same time, maybe map them to left and right sides instead of on the same side. Hitting more than 2 back buttons at the same time sounds excessive in most cases. Got this one coming in on Monday. I only use back paddles occasionally when it seems useful in certain games.Scuf is not easy to contact so hoping the this and the Reflex pro on PS5 have some durability. I swap between a shitload of different controllers and types of games, very old and new.
I agree for most games but For Rainbow Six Siege you need 3 at a time to instantly lean Left or Right and to crouch or use Ability
Ah,ok. Sounds important if you are heavy into that particular game. I'm the type that has 4 modded joysticks and alot of fuckin controllers. Always finding particular controllers for specific games, so I can relate. @@macaullyf
So which controller is best for COD/ MW2? *for PC / activision players?
From a first person shooter pov I feel the triggers are way too linear, after a few months of using it you’d think it would break in and feel smooth NO. very difficult to make fine adjustments with the sticks when engaging targets however.
Just bought one of these, hope it doesn't bust after a few months, like some people say.

I have an Elite Series 1 with the Scuf paddles, which are similar in design to Prestige vertical paddles but a little heavier. I love the design, but I really only use the 2 outer paddles as left and right thumb clicks, respectively. About to pull the trigger (sorry) on the Instinct Pro I think as my Elite still works great but is literally falling apart after years of honest and faithful service and I dislike the idea of the Series 2 built-in battery.
don't go series 2, way less durable than the series 1 and won't last as long at all

Do you ever plug in your controller? If so, how is the cable connection? With the old infinity4ps I had stick drift and a digital bumper that was hyper sensitive (I would throw a tactical without meaning to in COD) and the controller paddles would stop working…right out of the box. Sent back and the paddles still stop working several times throughout a gaming session. I’m hoping the new cable/connection will be better
Cable connection is good. That’s all I play and I’ve had my instinct pro for a few days
Use isopropyl alcohol on the rubber, it helps regain its stickiness
In your opinion what's the best paddle system out there? Currently using elite series 2.
I have both for a while and looking into the Hex gaming controller now. I like the elite controller with the elite scuff paddles more than the instinct paddle set up, but I do like the scuf controller more. I have been using the instinct pro since my elite went out and had no issue, I would just prefer my rear paddle or buttons to be more tactile and sensitive as I don't death grip my controllers while playing.

The outer paddles crack at the thinnest part and are not replaceable. I’m gonna JB weld mine back together or some shit.
Sucks because the ergonomics are great, paddle placement is perfect for me and they aren’t too light.

I just my first elite controller, my very first nice control and the back paddles are so much harder to get used to having, love it of course but you have to almost retrain myself how to use a control.
Right choice. I've never tried this scuf controller but I love my elite series 2. Looking at this it just looks so much more awkward. I only have 3 paddles on when I play and it's nice to have that choice!

Thanks man! Yes I love my Elite 2 with a passion and have had 0 issues 3 months of heavy use in. There are other good options on the market and because of that, I will be doing a comparison of all the wireless premium Xbox controllers I own very soon. If you aren't subbed, I would recommend it so you are alerted when that video drops.
If you value wireless, joystick tension, and 3-way trigger stops over 2-way, then get the elite. Otherwise, the Wolverine v2 chroma is better in every other way.

Joysticks come unscrewed, paddles not actuating just cause the amount of times I’ve used them the buttons became indented, stick drift, buttons locking. My little brother has gone through two elite series 2 with many similar problems. They’re good for about the first 3 months then they go to absolute shit. Just a heads up
I sent mine back its a much better built controller than they used to make but it gave my hands cramp so easily. I've never had that with a controller so I am back to old faithful battlebeaver.

They ended up limiting controller purchase to 1 per household. Scalpers got a hold of them and bought at least 5 controllers and marked them up to $500 - $600 and some even $700.

I can't find any listings on amazon or Google. I am assuming they don't exist. You could try ebay or somewhere were people make/fabricate their own stuff.

Learned the biggest problem with this controller. The main back buttons aren’t replaceable. My right (crouch) paddle snapped off entirely after 6 months. Only fix is gorilla glue. Have to send it back to scuf for repairs and I know it’ll break again
I disagree. The joysticks, wasd and the d-pad are. That's where you spend most of your time / money. They should be 3x better than the standard controllers at 3x the price.

1 year later SCUF controller is soo overpriced. we really pay for the brand almost 400$ CAD for the PS5 one and the quality is meh. When I had a PS4 controller from them it lasted 3 months

No, but you already have a raised right stick and swappable thumbsticks so I would see the point in putting Thumbstick caps over that.
