@@heinoustentacles5719 I do I got a whole playlist with hundreds of future funk and lo fi songs lol. But I do wish the genre and aesthetic were still at its apex of popularity from 5-6 years ago.
I don't even know if this classifies as vaporwave or future funk (as it lacks both the melancholy and subdued energy of vaporwave or the hyper and poppy sound of future funk) per se. I hear more chill hop in this, vaporwave and future funk fits more the likes of Skylar Spence/Saint Pepsi and Macross 82-99 respectively.
left your mark in a distant past, but somehow it’s all gone now, good things can never last. you’re down for the third time and you spent your change. memories of your prime make life seem so strange.
this is why this is one of the greatest videos ever imo. the song's message paired with this fun, but bittersweet visualization of how short life is 👌embrace your youth
Its nostalgic, believe me it's great. But no other song does it better? I don't believe in bests, but i do believe boards of Canada does it a little better than this.
"Left your mark in a distant past, but somehow it's all gone now good things can never last" What a fucking REAL ass line. I can't get enough of this video and song combination. I'm glad that there are other people who understand this nostalgic, sad, happy, weird feeling that I feel every time I watch this.
The lyrics (and bass and guitar) are from the 70s. Sampled from Bobby Caldwells "Down for the third time". the whole song has multiple verses and cuts deep for me. I recommend you give the original a listen if you like this verse. The whole song goes deeper into the theme
I'm 21 and I'm just here studying power systems at 3 a.m for an upccoming test while those people were out there having the times of their lives in their 20's, so I feel ya there.
I am 58 years old now and still vibrating to this very unique Energy , good good vibrations and this magical music wakes up this feeling of pure happiness 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤗🤗🤗 Thank you so much To be honest some nostalgia is singing in my heart from thoses times....
I agree +BucketCapacity, but keep in mind, Artzie Music can make daily uploads that way, acting as a music distributor of sorts, and Demon cannot make daily uploads. BUT I will say, Artzie monetizing their videos is TOTAL BULLSHIT considering they're trying to make money with little or no effort put into their channel. If they want money they should set up a Patreon, not that shit.
Left your mark in a distant past, but somehow it’s all gone now, good things can never last. You’re down for the third time and you spent your change. Memories of your prime make life seem so strange.
Saw Flamingosis live about 2 years ago, i cried inside of emotion. So many blunts were smoked in front of these clips with good friends and vibes. Things aren’t the same anymore but I’m happy for the experiences throughout that time and well after. I wished all my homies were next to me at the concert but my buddy David was so it was just great to share that experience with him!
That was my life right there folks...........Skated my 70's childhood years away. All about ramps, wheels and tricks....PURE JOY. So glad to be part of the skate scene in San Francisco!
Dude, I'm really jealous actually lol. I fell in love with San Fran when I was stationed at Travis AFB in 2009. I was Frisco every weekend because there was so much to see and do...plus, I fell in love too lol. But, I really wish I could have gotten to experience what you did. You're one lucky person.
If the Earth ever explodes and the human race shoots itself in the foot, I hope somebody sends this video out into space. Just to give aliens the impression that THIS is what it was like.
These retro videos really pack a punch to showing history as well as the music making me feel relaxed, like a a cup full of liquid blue light thrown at my face. I don't know what the fuck i'm saying I'll shut up now.
Almost makes you remember memories of your past life... Or was it your birth? You forgot the great things you've done and the evil you've conquered. And that's what this song will be; a reminder of your personal power to change the world. It's all in your hands... Or is it all in your head?
As someone who spent a great deal of time stoned silly watching the skaters at Venice Beach, this track and this video touches my soul. Hits me on a personal level. Incredible.
You know that feeling when you find a song thats so good, you listen to it so many times and it starts to gradually lose its appeal to you and it eventually fades into your mind's obscurity? This song trancended that phenomenon for me. I cannot stop listening to it, and each listen puts me in the same blissful place as my first listen. Hell, I'd say every next listen is my first. I wish everyone good vibes. :)
Just in case anyone was wondering the original song is by Bobby Caldwell its called down for the third time. It's a groovy as this. Peace and love. 🔥🔥✌🏿️
It's crazy wild how the 70s were in the world, many countries were still managing to achieve independence, others were in ruthless regimes, while others were simply chill
For those wondering... this is a very very light remix of Bobby Caldwell track DOWN FOR THE THIRD TIME. Wish they had added his second verse into this mix
I remeber hearing this for the first time in 2017. after a while of trying to find it i just gave up. It's 2021 and I just got a sudden urge to find it again, and I did. Never give up yall.
This makes me so sad I could cry about all the little things that are lost and gone but it was before I was even born. Why do I feel so strongly about something that stopped existing before I even existed??? Some past life nostalgia shit.
@Gappie Al Kebabi what makes this bad and not worth a garbage youtube comment? you've never had inexplicable nostalgia for a time before your were born? you never heard music that made you nostalgic for an era you didn't live?? I was not alive when the actual film of this video was recorded. But the musician that posted this video alongside their music made their intent explicit. You don't have to have been alive when these frames of film were first recorded. It is explicitly, and by intent, a remembrance of times long past. This is fleeting footage of the musical artist's parents being Cool As Hell as young adults My parents roller bladed with me in a stroller in the early 90s. I have no memory of that, but there are fuzzy recordings of that time just like the video. SoRrY yOu MaDe A bAd SpOnGeBoB MeMe, go suck a nostalgia lollipop and cry
left your mark in a distant past but somehow it’s all gone now good things can never last you’re down for the fifth time and you spent your change memories of your prime make life seem so strange 🎶🎵🎶😊
There needs to be a place where people can hangout just like this and have a good time with one another with no hate and skate and play the oldies and make it feel like it's still the late 70's/ early 80's.
Please add news videos with the music of this times 70/80 ....Every morning I wake up with it , that gives me more energy to go forward , aware that we had this precious gift of God to have around 15/25 years old at this time . Use the past to jump and excell in the future!😍😍🤗😍🤗🤗🤗😍🤗
I spent my teenage years in Venice Beach back in the early 2000s. Went back in 2023 and wow did this song hit on a different level. It is not the same place as it was in 2001. That place is gone.
This music reminds me a summer I had, every time I listen to it. I was seeing that girl that I liked very much, going with my car to cool places listening to this music. Makes me nostalgic but I cant stop listening to it, Its an amazing job you did flamingosis
Bobby Caldwell vs Flamingosis? omg!!! pure gold! btw, i was rollerblading today with these vibes, people around didn't understand why i'm smiling like crazy :D
Flamingosis should cola with beatboxbandit for the track of the decade. If not the century, hell might as well for for the track of the millennium! Pure fiya from these two
I wish this genre wasn’t just a fad that happened in 2016. I still listen to hundreds of these songs I saved in playlists as a teen
You can still listen to stuff like this if you listen to future funk.
@@heinoustentacles5719 I do I got a whole playlist with hundreds of future funk and lo fi songs lol. But I do wish the genre and aesthetic were still at its apex of popularity from 5-6 years ago.
yeah it's really sad that vaporwave and shit died down it sucks

I like this a lot but it makes me feel sick, like that feeling you get when you are missing out on something. Weird feels
I know what you mean bro, it's like a platonic nostalgia (?) or something. I bet there's like a german term for it
