The only real protest is for these students to divest themselves of the school. But that, of course, would involve personal sacrifice. The school's practices are not new but the students didn't object to them before or during the application process. They are among the most privileged people in the world and they sure are going to use that diploma with that school's name on it and all the economic and social clout that goes along with it to further secure their privileged place in the world. They are beyond entitled to expect to be seen as heroes.

The resistance is against the *government and military of Israel*. All calls for a ceasefire by protesters include an end to the violence against civilians *and* a release of the hostages. I really wish people would stop conflating support for Palestinians with support for Hamas, it's dishonest and gets us nowhere. The few idiots in the crowd who say they support Hamas do not at all represent the rest of us who are protesting all over the world.

Of the 50-70 forced displacement operations a total of 4 were as a result of Arab states asking the Palestinians to leave. Even then 3/ 4 of these incidents still involved military force (along with the vast majority of displacements) such as Haifa for example.
In fact, a common criticism of Arab states during the nekba is that they didn’t ask Palestinians to leave when they should have. Many Palestinians stayed, waiting for a word from Arab states on what to do, and were left vulnerable when Zionist terrorists came to kick them out.
British military reports from the time describe Zionist para militaries firing indiscriminately on fleeing civilians.
