I'm not sure if I'm understanding your remark correctly at 2:23. Are you saying this vent control valve (what Honda call the canister vent shut valve) is normally closed when the ignition key is on? So it must open when purging, or whenever the car is shut off?
Great video very helpful. I have engine check on my toyota sienna for charcoal canister. The harness or pins on the canister has 7 pins. Can you advise how to check this please? Thks
Nice clear video Just a hint for finding a positive lead, if possible look at the color of the wires coming from the back of the connector, you can sometimes tell a colorful wire compared to a ground wire which sometimes is a solid color.
Excellent video and highly appreciated, question to be raised if the Vent Shut Valve faulty do I have to replace the whole Evap.Canister or only the Vent Shut Valve
To close the evap soldenoid manually with vehicle off, could i simply run a wire from negative battery terminal and connect it to the ground pin of evap solenoid under the truck and then run a wire from the positive terminal on the battery and touch the positive pin on the solenoid?
Great video. I've seen many evap diagnostic videos and this is the only one that I've seen that mentions checking for electrical connection.
You deserve more likes for this one! Excellent walk through tutorial.
Awesome job... very good and explained that a 12 year old could understand and learn new techniques. Hats off to you.

I also want to know.
Thank you for making it easy for me
Is this procedure the same with all vehicles?
Where can I get one of those battery packs to apply the 11v? What is the manufacturer name?
I just hooked up smoke. And took off canister hoses and put my thumb over them. And it holds pressure. It's spewed out when I let off. So😊
Great video! no BS.
Very clear
Thank you
If the valve is stuck open, do the gasses that escape become flammable in the vacinity of the canister on the car?
Many thanks
Wondering can this part be clean with wd40? or you need to replace the EVAP Canister Vent Shut Valve?
I want to know this too.
hi does the white wire need ground or signal ? thanks
Curious what fuse it would be for the s2000 if it is a fuse?
So the valves closes when the vehicle is running & Vent when it's park?
Can i turn off this valve (plug out wire) to try is there any changes...can i drive car few minutes like that to try???
how do you check the control side

I tested mine and when I pump it, it holds vacuum.
Oct-22-2021, 1st. That was pretty damn good, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Excellent!
You confirmed battery voltage, however you did not confirm negative, or good ground.
Will it work with 18v?
I wouldn't try it personally. Just run a wire from any 12v source on the car
I had 2 do the purge.
Additionally, I replaced my vent valve last night just because
👌
I have p0448
