If voldemort chose Neville as the chosen one, snape would still be a death eater and likely not a professor because he wouldn't have joined with Dumbledore to protect lily or her child. He'd probably be at Azkaban because Igor Karkaroff had told the Council of magical law that snape was a death eater. They only dismissed it when he was with Dumbledore for lily
he probably would've still been a teacher, the reason he initially took the job was because Voldemort wanted him to spy on Dumbledore. but ur right about the Azkaban part, if Voldemort went after Neville instead of Harry, Snape wouldn't have switched sides to try to prevent Alice's death which means Dumbledore wouldn't have vouched for him in Karkaroff's trial. realistically tho, none of this would likely be relevant. Voldemort might have just killed Neville & his parents and just ended the prophecy right there once & for all. he would be free to continue to tyrannize the wizarding world throughout the 80's & 90's, and might also have taken over Hogwarts & the Ministry before Harry was even old enough to attend.
@@JuanMataCFC if neville was the "chosen one" I think it would have went down the same way. Voldamort almost dead and Neville an orphan. Although he provably would have lived with his grandmother still with a similar protection as lily had given harry. As for snape however, he only stayed out of Azkaban because Dumbledore vouched for him, something I dont think he would have done if he was not 100 percent sure. I think either way snape would have stayed a death eater and maybe out of anger for lily not being his attacked James or even both lily and James. Just guessing of course 😄 but I dont think snape would have stayed at hogwarts.

Me too! I always had the idea in my head that if Harry was a girl then she’d look like Lily but with her father’s eyes. Then that way she’d dislike Snape cause he’d act weird around her, seeing her as the second coming of Lily whilst she was really like James; instead of treating Harry bad cause he looked like the second coming of James when he was really like Lily. It’d be interesting how Harry’s friendships developed and change if he was a girl too.
At best he would have doted on her and probably treated her like a replacement goldfish for Lily. At worst, the aforementioned would still take place only this time it would also resulted in some very disturbing grooming, ala Sansa and Littlefinger.
I think he wouldn't even be able to look at her, so he would 'back off' as much as possible and ignore her at all costs. he would feel an overwhelming guilt, bigger than he already has in canonical history. and depending on her personality which i suspect would be quite different from Harry boy this could get worse to a maddening point. If she is calmer and less impetuous than Harry you can tell snape will not take the pressure and would beg dumbledore to leave the position of professor and watch her from afar. this appearance + this specific personality trait is Snape's death lol As for, ahmm... the darkest situation, let's pretend she's at least 17 (oh god) I would still say Snape isn't that kind of guy, but coming from the human being and our conflicting feelings everything is possible but I prefer to think that the most that would happen is that they would be good friends or have a friend/mentor relationship. There are many different combinations of looks and personality, but I like this one in particular because it puts Snape in a situation that I would love to see him deal with.
I think also think Ginny and Neville would've ended up together. In the Chamber of Secrets, Neville would've been the one rescuing Ginny. I wonder if Neville could've found the Philosopher's Stone in Book 1.

But remember Hermione was nearly friends with Neville as she said she was looking for a toad which she met Harry and as he was famous she liked him but if Neville was the famous one would she have just been friends with him and Neville would have been asked by Draco to be friends and I think Neville would be blind to Draco's nastiness and befriended him and I think Hermione would after that be friends with Ron and eufimia as Neville would be put in slitherin as he wouldn't ask to not be like Harry and maybe seen as the next dark wizard coming and as him and Draco become good friends he may become a dark wizard
About the Snape part, I don't think Snape could even become a teacher at Hogwarts, since the only reason he started working with Dumbledore was because of Harry's involvement with the profecy and his fear of losing Lily. But in this world, I doubt he would try and save Neville's parents, since he would be the only candidate for the profecy, so he would probably still be a loyal deatheater, probably in Azkaban, since Karkaroff would have ratted him out, but Dumbledore would never have a reason to vouch for him. And on a completely different character now, maybe Peter Pettigrew would have stayed a spy for Voldemort for much longer, since he would not have a reason to blow his cover, maybe he would even be a teacher at Hogwarts, and maybe eve be like a fake Hagrid figure to Effie (he'd be like an uncle to her, toghter with Sirius and Remus) only to reveal his true nature at some point of course.

Another “What If” scenario would be that if Voldemort marked Neville as the Boy-Who-Lived, the Lestrange’s and Barty Crouch Jr. may have targeted the Potter’s instead leaving a female or even male Harry still to grow up without parents again. Alternatively, they could have ended up with Sirius because he wasn’t arrested going after Pettigrew for selling out the Potter’s.
Maybe not...They had a Fedelius charm, and if Peter Pettigrow would not have a reason to betray them, they may be able to localise that Fedelius Charm but be unable to do much about it.

Also, would the Death Eaters even go after the Potters in the same way they did with the Longbottoms? James and Lily weren't Aurors, after all, and the odds of them knowing about Voldemort's whereabouts would be astronomically slim.

What if the prophecy said something like: "...twins that are born in late summer...". What if there were two children born to the Potters...a boy and a girl: Harry and Effie? Lilly protects Harry and Harry protects Effie. Both parents die because they were protecting their children. Both are sent to the Dursleys but at the last moment, Effie is sent to the neighbor across the street...I forgot her name. The two meet at Diagon Alley courtesy of Hagrid. Harry has a hunch that he knows Effie and notices she has a similar scar-like Harry's, but he just cannot remember why he feels that they know each other...

As she was only a baby, taking the crucio curse, she must have given up sooner. So, Bellatrix killed her and tortured Neville's parents as they were adults, they didn't die but they did go insane and before she can finish them off, the Aurors show up and capture them (them as in Bellatrix, her husband and Barty crouch Jr.). As Neville keeps his parents insanity a secret, he also keeps his twin sister's death a secret. Idk, if it's good but it just fills the plothole and pls forgive me if I said too much. 😅😬
I don't understand why people insist the story wouldn't happen. Snape only heard the part where Sybill didn't specify the gender. Vold didn't just go after Harry, he was going to kill the two babies but got blown up first. And let's remember that his mother was the powerful witch not his father, his almost-right-hand death eater is a woman. He's not the kind of guy who makes difference like some people on youtube.

Also in this video's scenario, Neville's parents may have fought back to Voldemort and died in the duel and did not cast a sacrificial protection on Neville. Yeah, this whole video was pretty bad. Nothing really made any sense, the main character is no longer the main character because of a prophecy's pronouns can't change! The idea that Neville was the chosen one is a different question all together. Besides if that, then why wouldn't the potters be tortured as Neville's parents. It's all just weird assumptions that she's a girl, so she'll be a side character who cheers on the boys to win. That's garbage, what's the point of asking what if Harry was a girl, then creating this monstrosity. Yeah! In my opinion, a settled aversion to the fact that Harry is a girl would imply that Neville would be too. I don't think the story itself would change, but I do believe that various dynamics would. I think Snape would have learned to heal much better. Having Lily's daughter as a student. It would have been easier for him to compare her with Lily and not with her bully, therefore, we would see a Snape more focused on his role as a teacher and not so rude with his students. In the golden trio. I'm not sure that a love triangle occurred, Harry in our version never developed an interest in Hermione, so I doubt it will happen here with Ron. But I do think that his Cho Chang would have been a Seamus or Dean and Effy's Ginny would have been a Weasley brother. But I don't think it would be a twin. They are not designed as love interests, I think it would have been necessary to create another Weasley brother. One year older or younger than Ron. But ehh ... If Drarry is strong with the saga being the way it is, imagine what a Dreffy would be xD In the end, it wouldn't change much. Only there would be more emphasis on Lily than James. Being Effy more similar to her than to her father. Perhaps we had known more stories about Lily, and her friends. I think the biggest change would be in the relationship of the golden trio. Hermione being the only girl in the group is more likely, for Ron to be the only boy (I mean, it is less common to see a boy whose only friends are girls than vice versa). So I think a subplot in the third or fourth book would be a Ron distancing himself from the girls. I would see it most likely in the fourth book, which was when the romance and love interest plots began. I see Ron at first jealous of Effy as it happened in our saga, but also with the context that he is developing more friendship with the Gryffindor boys. Making a Neville girl, closer to Hermione-Effy. This subplot culminating in the beginning of the Ron-Hermione relationship. And a new role for him, as Effy's best friend and Hermione's boyfriend. Solidified further when in the fifth book, Effy begins a relationship with Ron's brother. With an "Effy Potter" I would gender-swap the following characters: Neville, A Marauder ( I think the group would benefit from being mixed genders, to make room for Effy to feel more identified, and maybe Lily being a member), Narcissa would be the main role in the Malfoy family. I would make Cedric a girl, if we discard the potential of making Cedric the Cho Chang of Effy (If we want tragedy). Luna needs to be a boy. As I mentioned, there must be another Weasley brother. If we replaced Ginny with a younger brother, I would make the twins girls, if not, a boy and a girl. Viktor krum would be a girl. Interested maybe in Ron, to shake up the subplot I mention. Fleur, on the other hand, would be a boy. But if we make Cedric the Cho Chang of Effy (Her first romance in the saga, but not her final), leave Fleur a girl. The rest can remain as they are in the original saga.
I think you are correct with exactly what would have happened to a “Euphonia” Potter. But I also think the point of the fan theory was to change the prophecy as well. So how would a girl have fared with one other girl and a boy as her best friends under the same conditions as Harry? Now that’s different. You might have to change every character except a few minor ones.

There are a lot of grey areas here...if the prophesy was truly about harry then it would have been for a girl. If harry was a girl and the prophesy was about a boy, snape would never have gone to Dumbledore begging to save the longbottoms for example, so with the end of the wizarding world he would have gone to Azkaban since Dumbledore knew he was a death eater and had no reason to protect him.
I'm certain that had JK Rowling had made the protagonist a girl, Effie, she would have made the prophecy about a girl too. Then the story would have worked out pretty much the same, except the eventual love interests, with perhaps Effie falling for one of the other Wessley brothers, as you mention. There may have been a slightly different dynamic between Effie, Ron and Hermione too, with Effie and Hermione being closer.
as i said above the prophecy does not state a gender. a more interesting love interest could be malfoy or maybe it still could still have been ginny ( there`s been a whole boatload of ginny luna ships)
They say Neville could have been the chosen one just the same, but is it really true? Lily's protection spell worked because Voldemort gave her a choice to step aside. He fulfilled Snape's request so he could use him better. Now, would Snape beg him to spare Alice Longbottom? Come to think of it, didn't the entire story happen because of Snape? Thank you for taking the time to properly name Effie. Many would go the easy route and land on Harriet. Putting that much thought into her name made the rest of the video more interesting. That shows you really explored the concept and everything following made more sense because of it.
When it comes to the relationship with Snape... If Harry were a girl, I don't think Snape would have been a Hogwarts teacher at all. Think of it. According to this theory, Voldemort would then have gone to Neville and he would have been the chosen one. But how did Snape end up with Dumbledore? Because he was desperate to protect Lily from Voldemort, thus begging Dumbledore to help him achieve that. And even though Dumbledore was at first disgusted by Snape, he eventually felt that Snape's love for Lily was real. However if Voldemort aimed for Neville, none of that would have have happened and thus Hogwarts would likely have a different potions teacher, as I don't think Dumbledore would have recruited Snape in that scenario, nor do I think Snape would even have applied for the job and still be a Death Eater in the end.
Why link Effie's likelihood of mastering the transfiguration process to become an animagus to Sirius being her Godfather when James himself was an animagus? James and all of the marauders were... James being Effie's dad was the more obvious reason why she might successfully master this...
I've been thinking for ages that I'd love to rewrite the whole series with the main character being a girl (I was thinking with the name Harriet because it's the closest girl's name to Harry, but Effie works just as well. I'd keep it as close to the original as possible - assume that Sybill's prophecy changes just enough to be the 'CHILD born as the seventh month dies', so Voldemort could interpret that as meaning a girl, therefore she still grows up with the Dursleys. But then work out how her life would be different. Would Vernon feel as comfortable being as physically violent to a niece as he was to a nephew, or would a girl have a (marginally) better time in that situation? How would the dynamic between the three friends go if our hero shared a dormitory with Hermione instead of Ron? Would Mr and Mrs Granger put her up over the summer, instead of Molly and Arthur? And - most interestingly - the story would have to include the main character realising that she's a lesbian, as none of the other characters would be gender-swapped and I'd want her to still be attracted to Cho and Ginny. Could be an interesting game to play... :P
If Harry Potter was truly meant to be the chosen one of the prophecy, then in a universe where he is born as a she, I would think the prophecy would also be different, denoting that a girl would defeat Voldemort. If it truly didn't matter whether Harry or Neville was the chosen one, only that a boy defeated Voldemort, then it would be the exact same prophecy that we know. So, it is debatable whether the prophecy would be the same or changed due to Effie existing instead of Harry.

I would not assume that the one with the power would be male, at the time the prophecy was made Harry and Neville had not been born, and either or both could have been girls. Also, why think the person was even born in 1980 and not another year. At the time if you were not sure about "gender" most I think would use the default of male pronouns and could have meant 10 years down the line. Voldemort would always make it true whether he went after Harry, Neville, or Euphemia.
The female version of Henry is Henrietta so the girl’s name could have been shortened to Henri. And Rowling could’ve always rewritten the prophecy to have centered around a girl instead.
You forgot the fact that Snape turned out to Dumbledore because he needed to beg him for some protection because of the prophecy. In this scenario, Snape could never have become a teacher at Hogwarts!
The prophecy could've also been different, replacing the word "boy" with "child". Effie wouldn't necessarily look like Lily but due to her being a girl she would still look less like James, making her less associated with him and less assumed to be like him.
i doubt, that if this scenario were true, they would ever call their children "severus". in this version of the story, the only link to snape is that snape loved her mother, which isnt really any reason to name a child after him.
I like the "what if" concept. Could you also do the Neville part of this specific scenario. I think Effie, Ron and Hermione could be a 4 friend group with "the one" Neville, so she still be active in defeating Voldemort during all her school years
Interesting theory and point-of-view, I like it. But… I think it still would have worked out exactly the same, the Prophecy and outcome everything just instead of it being Harry it’s Effie and instead of it possibly being Neville, it would have been either another girl born at that time or a definite confirmation that it’s Effie and no one else. And of course the relationships would have been a bit different like instead of Harry being with Ginny it would have been idk one of the Weasleys or something. Then Ron and Hermione would still be friends with her and all that but Hermione being her roommate instead of Ron. Ron, being Ron, still being jealous because it’s Effie he’s jealous of and the popularity it’s all on her not him and her close relationship with Hermione not really with him. And the summers she still goes to the Weasleys but for Ginny not Ron and Hermiones still there as well, but it’s the girls that hang together and not Ron.
Thinking on the power of Genevra Weasley, I say that a girlie 'Harriet', 'Effie' whatever, would still have been just as powerful as Harry,. and still featured in the prophesy. That would put her in the same place as her male counterpart, at the Dursleys, and on to Hogwarts after having been a housemaid for her Aunt & Uncle. That's just my take on it. And imagine if Voldie had been a witch. That'd been an interesting twist.
Snape wouldn't have even been a professor at Hogwarts. Plus, they all may have been in a darker world, as we are assuming Neville's mom would have done the exact same thing as Lily.
But Voldemort will not give the choice to step aside to Neville's mother as he had given to Lily on Snape's request so there will be no sacrificial protection hence Neville would be dead. Jk has said even before the release of DH that choice was an integral part of creating sacrificial protection.

I don't think her name would have been Effy. I expect it was a bit more traditional with James and Lily in that they likely decided if it's a boy James would pick the name and if it was a girl Lily would pick the name. Even if that wasn't how things went, I still think they for a girl, they would have gone witht he Evans family tradition of naming girls after flowers. So I expect her name would be something more along the lines of Heather, or Holly, or Rose or something like that.
Would Voldemort still be alive in this scenario? Cause that would mean Effie's childhood would be very different. Also, I think a big part of what makes Harry what he is (brave, determined, etc.) is his upbringing with the Dursleys and being constantly ignored and disrespected. An Effie Potter growing up with two happy, loving parents (and possibly younger siblings) would be a totally different person, not just "Harry, but a girl."
I feel like this changing the timeline would be a lot more tragic. Voldemort would never have given Neville's parents the option to stand aside like he did for Harry's mother meaning there would have never been a loving sacrifice leaving Neville vulnerable and killed. The order of the Phoenix would be on its last leg and it's members would be dropping like flies until Voldemort went after Harry's (Fee's) parents. if Voldemort went after the potters himself because Snape would have likely wanted Harry's mother spared either way thus leading to the loving sacrifice but I find this outcome to be unlikely due to the fact that Voldemort would have sent some of his death eaters to take care of the potters instead of himself due to their relative lack of importance compared to main timeline Harry.
I'd like to point out some flaws in your logic. - Just because Effie is a girl, that doesn't mean she can't have a crush on Ginny. - Snape would still be a loyal death-eater, because Lily wouldn't have died. - Snape wouldn't have asked Voldemort to spare Frank or Alice, so Voldemort wouldn't have given them a chance, so nothing would have protected Neville, which means that Voldemort takes over. Wow, I would never have thought that everything would go this bad if Harry was a girl.

OK so I disagree with you on two points 1 if harry was a girl instead of a boy I think the prophecy would’ve changed from boy to girl as well leaving Effie as the new child of prophecy 2 if she wasn’t the child of prophecy then Snape would have no reason to go to Dumbledore and become a teacher so Snape would therefore not be a teacher
also Neville would have died cause the curse wouldnt have backlashed, cause Snape had no reason to ask Voldemort to save the Longbottoms.....This what if is flawed to the core
I think the only thing I’d change is snape. The whole reason he switched from being a death eater to being a part of the order and teaching at hogwarts was because of voldemort targeting the potters. Snape would probably have remained a death eater without the direct risk on Lily’s life
You missed a key plot point. Snape only ever worked with/for Dumbledore because of the Death of Lilly. Without the death of Lilly Snape would still be fully loyal to Voldemort through the entire story unless Lilly was killed by someone. So this entire FanFic would and could be derailed by just Snape being on the other side the entire time! Honestly Voldemort may never have came back after the rebounded curse situation and instead all Death Eaters would flock to Snape for leadership. He is easily the most powerful and talented after Dumbledore and Voldemort.
Maybe I'm being stupid here (please correct me if I'm wrong) but surely in this version of events, with Lily being safe from Voldemort, Snape never has any reason to beg Dumbledore to "hide them all" to save her life and thus there's no reason for him to become Dumbledore's ally. He would've become a full-fledged death-eater and therefore would never teach at Hogwarts during those years. Maybe the outcome of the war would be different with a fully committed Snape serving Voldemort.
He started working long before, it could have been after the prophecy, but if I remember correctly that would only have put a target after harry was born, and thus with not enough time to do what he did, I wont say anything about the gender in the prophecy because I have the book in spanish, so it might have different wording, but given what I just said and the fact that it is stated that he joined Dumbledore's side long before Voldemort's demise in the trial that has the best teacher and worst death eater, Barty jr, then we could think the target was not the only reason, also, she was a target regardless, she was a non magic person with a magic person, part of the people that would have been killed anyways if Voldemort continued.
@@alenasenie6928 It's clear in the English version that Snape overhears the prophecy while doing his Death Eater job of spying on Dumbledore for Voldemort. Snape then dutifully relayed the part of the prophecy that he heard to Voldemort letting us know that he was still a committed DE at that time. It is only when Voldemort decides that Harry is the one, putting Lily's life in direct danger, that Snape goes to Dumbledore to protect Lily. This is the point that Snape offers Dumbledore "anything" to protect her/them. Dumbledore's payment is for Snape to become a double agent and report all that he knows about Voldemort's doings. So no, Snape did not join Dumbledore until after the prophecy was made and Harry was targeted and he never would have if Neville was the chosen one. Voldemort would have likely spared Lily for Snape even tho she was a muggleborn if his need to kill Harry wasn't so great. He believed Harry was the last great threat to his immortality and intended to make his final horcrux from the murder of this boy who supposedly had the power to destroy him. I don't think she would have been a target regardless as long a Severus remained a good and faithful servant.

One theory with this is Snape would not have been at Hogwarts at all because lily never would have been I. Danger so he never would have gone to Dumbledore to act as a spy against voldemort.
I do miss one point in this thoughts. About Severus Snape. He went to the side of Albus Dumbledore BECAUSE Lily was threatened. Which reason should Severus Snape have to switch sides in time for not being punished as a Deatheater...Or even killed? Should he go to Albus when the Longbottoms were threatened? This is telling me that in the descripted scenario Severus would not have been a teacher....even if Severus changed sides beacaus Lily was fighting in the order he would go with her and James....risking being killed as target by Voldemort because Voldemort never would let go off a deatheater to the other side unpunished.
Probably Sirius would have still been alive and fought alongside James and Remus in the Battle oft Hogwarts. It would also be interesting to see what became of Wormtail because he never had to go into hiding since he would not have been the Longbottoms secret keeper. Maybe nobody would have realised that he was a double agent and he still had his friends. That makes it unlikely that he went to look for Voldemort so his return could be delayed. And lets say Dumbledore was the Longbottoms secret keeper. That may well have saved Nevilles parents lives.
Well.. this whole theory is also based on the concept that Neville’s parents died in the same way as Harry’s and therefore Neville became the boy who lived. Means that all of the theory is based on the idea that the storyline of Harry Potter plays out for Neville as “Harry”. Voldemort “died” as well and the wizardry world would have been “safe” to live in. If go this way sure this theory makes sense but also just means that Harry Potter is not the story of Harry Potter anymore. If we are more realistic about it the likelihood that Neville would have survived and the love sacrifice would have worked in the same way is completely unlikely. Means that Lilly, James, Sirius would have fought Voldemort constantly without going in hiding and therefore risking their lives. And without Peter being the snitch as the secret keeper he probs would have done something else to hand over parties of the Order of the Phoenix. So my take is, if Harry would have been girl the whole story would have been a complete different one with the likelihood that Harry’s character wouldn’t be able to grow up in a peaceful family environment and going to Hogwarts.
Never mind that wo the chosen one, Wormtail might have never cemented his faith as a deatheater by betraying the Potters and might not end up helping Voldemorts return.
The best Girl Who Lived fanfiction I have read is a Fate/Stay Night crossover called Swords and Sorcery (Year 1: No Route Back, Year 2: All Ore Nothing) by Susanoh13 and they were really enjoyable, though sadly only the first two years were written. She was named Iris Potter, which I think is fitting, as her mother was also named after a flower. It was absolutely brilliant!
Few things you didn't take into account. Snape would still be a death eater, he only switched because of Lily, if anything Lupin might've been her potions professor. Effie first wand from Ollivanders, it's obscure but relevant. James teaching Effie how to become an animagus, he can turn into a stag.
And the thing is Voldemort would have still ended up the same with Neville since the prophecy was self-fulfilling and the Longbottoms seem to have had similar protectiveness. And Effie might have met Ron beforehand since Molly was a relative of an Order member and had a child the same age. And since James, Lily, Sirus, and Remus who also would have been closer to Effie, were all central to the Order she probably would have met Dumbledore sometime before and with a personality possible being similar to Harry she would have still likely somehow got involved in the battle against Voldemort before his rise, maybe helping Nevile sometime before Voldemort came back. Nevile likely would still be similar to how he was in the series, maybe with even less self-esteem with a huge reputation, coupled with being a late bloomer. And we do have to wonder about Bellatrix going after the Potters as she did the Longbottoms. Actually, they wouldn't have been her target since they attacked the Longbottoms because they were searching for Voldemort and thought the Longbottoms knew where since they were Aurors.

Philosophers stone- yes she meets Hermione and Ron also Neville (aka chosen one) on first day of school and she hate on Draco, but Draco try make friend with her and try to make her flirt on him. I don’t know quest goes on first year but Neville need her, hermione and Ron help for quest. 2. Chamber of secrets - Neville and Ron miss the train and take fly car to Hogwarts. Ron got the howler. Female Harry vs Draco in duelling club. Female Harry and Ron know the fraud that professor Lockhart is. Female Harry and Ron help Neville save Ginny. 3.Prisoner of Azkaban- rumours of werewolf spreading around, Hagrid teach the class, Draco get hurts, Draco get punch by Hermione. Neville, Hermione and female Harry uses time turner to go back in time to save buckbeak and female Harry and Neville and injury Sirius. Neville knew it was him who did Expecto Patronum 4. Goblet of Fire- Fem Harry, Hermione and Neville got big quidditch game with the Weasley family. Neville see Death mark but didn’t see who cast the spell. Three wizardry schools have Triwizard Tournament and someone mysterious put Neville name in Goblet of fire. Hermione, Ron and Female Harry try to help Neville win each task with some tips, but Ron was angry at first. Yule ball Neville take Ginny as a date while female Harry take George as a date. On 3rd task Cedric dies and Voldemort return again and Neville try tell everyone he’s return and nobody believes him. 5.Order of the Phoenix- Umbridge came to hogwart to teach. Many students didn’t like the way she is teaching while Dumbledore disappears from being framed. Neville and group of students become Dumbledore until Umbridge and other students found out. Neville and hermione trick Umbridge before Neville, Hermione, Female Harry, Ron, Ginny, Luna head to ministry of magic to save Sirius but it was a trick for them by Lucius, Bellatrix and death eaters. Until order of the Phoenix came and save them. Bellatrix kills Sirius while female Harry shock in horror and crying for lost of her godfather. Neville went after Bellatrix and both Voldemort and Dumbledore have a duel. Before Voldemort disappears ministry and minister saw Voldemort. 6. Half blood prince- Neville and Female Harry are or may aware that Draco is deatheater. Lavender and Ron are hang out or dating and the male Hermione kind of jealous. Neville meet up Slughorn and ask couple of questions. Dumbledore and Neville goes for the mission. Draco let his aunt and the deatheaters in hogwart and Draco disarm Dumbledore and Professor Snape kills Dumbledore 7. Deathly Hallows- Ron, Hermione and female Harry join and help Neville to find and destroy the Horcruxes. With so many dangerous task like getting way from deatheaters, break in and out ministry, not be seeing, escape from malfoy manor, break in and out Gringotts bank, break in Hogwarts. Neville fake his death and until he and Voldemort did epic final duel while Female Harry save Ron and Hermione by slicing Nagini before they were about get kill. Epilogue 4 friends are married and have their own children. What you guys think is it to much or no.
Given the complex effects "outside factors" may play in personal choices, who's to say that Snape even ended up as a Hogwarts Professor if Harry were Effie?
In this universe Harry never existed, Potters live, Dark Lord falls and goes after Longbottom instead. Effie becomes a background character who is taken out of school once trouble starts along with the Wesleys. Longbottom defeats Dark Lord with help form Dumbledore and school staff.
The movies do a better job of dealing with the Neville-Harry prophesy ambiguity. In the movie, who killed Riddle? Was it Harry's ownership of the Elder Wand or Neville filleting Nangini? The latter is more likely as it was the horcrux which allowed Tom to exist. The prophesy was not about Harry at all. Harry was the diversion. Without Harry, Neville may mot have survived to complete his task. He would likely have dated Effie and she would have been his protector - along with Luna. What a story that would make.
If Harry'd been a girl with parents alive I also think that girl would've become very good at Potions in school, since Lily was very good at Potions as mentioned by Slughorn and since James's father was an expert at Potions as well, being the creator Sleekeasy HairPotion. I also wonder if a girl version of Harry would play Seeker for the house-team or play a different position on the team.

It could also be the case that Effie wouldn't have had her parents, If Voldemort goes after Neville, Bella and the gang could have targeted the Potters for information on the Dark Lord's whereabouts. The Potters wouldn't have been in hiding, so they could have been targeted and cruio'd into insanity.
If Lily Potter was never threatened by Voldemort what would've been Snape's motivation for turning against his master and siding with Dumbledore? Perhaps Snape never teaches at Hogwarts at all but instead dies in Azkaban as a convicted death eater. Or without Lily Potter's sacrificial protection for her child, Voldemort is never defeated in the First Wizarding War and the whole magical world looks totally different from what we see in the real story. Neville dies as a baby, and Voldemort has no one in his way on his path to power. Prophecy or no prophecy, there is no reason to think that Neville -- if he survived at all -- would be any different than he was in the actual books/movies, especially in his first few years at Hogwarts. Neville became a badass, but he started out as a scared & chubby little kid who sucked at magic, and there's no reason to think that would've changed if Voldemort had killed his parents rather than them being tortured into insanity. The only real difference is that he wouldn't have had to see them in that state every year. Of course, the most likely outcome is that Effie's story plays out almost exactly like Harry's. The prophecy is still made just as it was, but now it's about Effie the girl rather than Harry the boy. Either way, we're talking about the same soul with the same destiny. In the end, most of the same choices are made and most of the same outcomes are reached. "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches. She will be born as the seventh month dies to those who have thrice defied him. And the Dark Lord will mark her as his equal, but she will have power the Dark Lord knows not. Either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives. The one with that power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies." (That's me going strictly from memory, so I screwed up a word or two, sorry.)
One thing you really miss when saying the Ephy would only meet Ron after being sorted into Gryffindor: Lili&James as well as Mr&Mrs Weasley were members of the Order of the Phoenix and probably friends. So I think it's safe to assume that Ron and Ephy would knew each other from their early ages and the twins would rather be some kind of brother figures for Ephy and not potential partners.
Molly and Arthur were not members of the original Order of the Phoenix and didn't attend Hogwarts at the same time as James and Lily. While they would likely be aware of each other as Pureblood families it's highly unlikely they would have been friends.
It’s also most likely that Effie would have been friends with Hermione more than Ron like Harry did since Effie would have shared a room with Hermione rather than Ron, forming a closer bond with Hermione

This is a really interesting theory, it would have being awesome to see the relationship between Sirius and Effy, (not sure how to spell Effy so I spelt it how it sounds) plus the relationship between Effy and Lilly and James, her friendship with Ron and Hermione and then Ginny later on. In the Half-Blood Prince book, Molly said that Slughorn taught her and Arthur, so she would’ve attended Hogwarts between the 1940’s and 1981 because 1981 is when Slughorn retired because of what he told Riddle about Horcruxes and Snape getting his job.

What if... The flying car was the chosen one? What if the car actually belonged to James and was there when Voldemort attacked and the piece of his soul that broke off attached itself to the car instead of Harry. Imagine if when Harry and Voldemort are having the final duel, the car pops out of the forest and its enchanted side mirror reflects Voldemort's spell back at him, killing him.

realistically tho, none of this would likely be relevant. Voldemort might have just killed Neville & his parents and just ended the prophecy right there once & for all. he would be free to continue to tyrannize the wizarding world throughout the 80's & 90's, and might also have taken over Hogwarts & the Ministry before Harry was even old enough to attend.

Although he provably would have lived with his grandmother still with a similar protection as lily had given harry. I think either way snape would have stayed a death eater and maybe out of anger for lily not being his attacked James or even both lily and James. Me too! I always had the idea in my head that if Harry was a girl then she’d look like Lily but with her father’s eyes. Then that way she’d dislike Snape cause he’d act weird around her, seeing her as the second coming of Lily whilst she was really like James; instead of treating Harry bad cause he looked like the second coming of James when he was really like Lily. It’d be interesting how Harry’s friendships developed and change if he was a girl too.

I think he wouldn't even be able to look at her, so he would 'back off' as much as possible and ignore her at all costs. he would feel an overwhelming guilt, bigger than he already has in canonical history. and depending on her personality which i suspect would be quite different from Harry boy this could get worse to a maddening point. If she is calmer and less impetuous than Harry you can tell snape will not take the pressure and would beg dumbledore to leave the position of professor and watch her from afar. this appearance + this specific personality trait is Snape's death lol
As for, ahmm... the darkest situation, let's pretend she's at least 17 (oh god) I would still say Snape isn't that kind of guy, but coming from the human being and our conflicting feelings everything is possible but I prefer to think that the most that would happen is that they would be good friends or have a friend/mentor relationship.

About the Snape part, I don't think Snape could even become a teacher at Hogwarts, since the only reason he started working with Dumbledore was because of Harry's involvement with the profecy and his fear of losing Lily. But in this world, I doubt he would try and save Neville's parents, since he would be the only candidate for the profecy, so he would probably still be a loyal deatheater, probably in Azkaban, since Karkaroff would have ratted him out, but Dumbledore would never have a reason to vouch for him.
And on a completely different character now, maybe Peter Pettigrew would have stayed a spy for Voldemort for much longer, since he would not have a reason to blow his cover, maybe he would even be a teacher at Hogwarts, and maybe eve be like a fake Hagrid figure to Effie (he'd be like an uncle to her, toghter with Sirius and Remus) only to reveal his true nature at some point of course.
I doubt Pettigrew would be on voldemorts side. The only reason he was approached was because voldemort needed to get to the potters.

Another “What If” scenario would be that if Voldemort marked Neville as the Boy-Who-Lived, the Lestrange’s and Barty Crouch Jr. may have targeted the Potter’s instead leaving a female or even male Harry still to grow up without parents again. Alternatively, they could have ended up with Sirius because he wasn’t arrested going after Pettigrew for selling out the Potter’s.
Maybe not...They had a Fedelius charm, and if Peter Pettigrow would not have a reason to betray them, they may be able to localise that Fedelius Charm but be unable to do much about it.

Though Bellatrix might have had a tougher time attacking the Potters since Sirus and Remus could be celebrating with them when they attacked, and four extraordinary magic users could fight them off.
What if the prophecy said something like: "...twins that are born in late summer...". What if there were two children born to the Potters...a boy and a girl: Harry and Effie? Lilly protects Harry and Harry protects Effie. Both parents die because they were protecting their children. Both are sent to the Dursleys but at the last moment, Effie is sent to the neighbor across the street...I forgot her name. The two meet at Diagon Alley courtesy of Hagrid. Harry has a hunch that he knows Effie and notices she has a similar scar-like Harry's, but he just cannot remember why he feels that they know each other...

As she was only a baby, taking the crucio curse, she must have given up sooner. So, Bellatrix killed her and tortured Neville's parents as they were adults, they didn't die but they did go insane and before she can finish them off, the Aurors show up and capture them (them as in Bellatrix, her husband and Barty crouch Jr.). As Neville keeps his parents insanity a secret, he also keeps his twin sister's death a secret. Idk, if it's good but it just fills the plothole and pls forgive me if I said too much. 😅😬
I don't understand why people insist the story wouldn't happen. Snape only heard the part where Sybill didn't specify the gender. Vold didn't just go after Harry, he was going to kill the two babies but got blown up first. And let's remember that his mother was the powerful witch not his father, his almost-right-hand death eater is a woman. He's not the kind of guy who makes difference like some people on youtube.

In my opinion, a settled aversion to the fact that Harry is a girl would imply that Neville would be too. I don't think the story itself would change, but I do believe that various dynamics would. I think Snape would have learned to heal much better. Having Lily's daughter as a student. It would have been easier for him to compare her with Lily and not with her bully, therefore, we would see a Snape more focused on his role as a teacher and not so rude with his students.
In the golden trio. I'm not sure that a love triangle occurred, Harry in our version never developed an interest in Hermione, so I doubt it will happen here with Ron. But I do think that his Cho Chang would have been a Seamus or Dean and Effy's Ginny would have been a Weasley brother. But I don't think it would be a twin. They are not designed as love interests, I think it would have been necessary to create another Weasley brother. One year older or younger than Ron. But ehh ... If Drarry is strong with the saga being the way it is, imagine what a Dreffy would be xD
In the end, it wouldn't change much. Only there would be more emphasis on Lily than James. Being Effy more similar to her than to her father. Perhaps we had known more stories about Lily, and her friends. I think the biggest change would be in the relationship of the golden trio. Hermione being the only girl in the group is more likely, for Ron to be the only boy (I mean, it is less common to see a boy whose only friends are girls than vice versa). So I think a subplot in the third or fourth book would be a Ron distancing himself from the girls. I would see it most likely in the fourth book, which was when the romance and love interest plots began.
I see Ron at first jealous of Effy as it happened in our saga, but also with the context that he is developing more friendship with the Gryffindor boys. Making a Neville girl, closer to Hermione-Effy. This subplot culminating in the beginning of the Ron-Hermione relationship. And a new role for him, as Effy's best friend and Hermione's boyfriend. Solidified further when in the fifth book, Effy begins a relationship with Ron's brother.
With an "Effy Potter" I would gender-swap the following characters:
Neville, A Marauder ( I think the group would benefit from being mixed genders, to make room for Effy to feel more identified, and maybe Lily being a member), Narcissa would be the main role in the Malfoy family. I would make Cedric a girl, if we discard the potential of making Cedric the Cho Chang of Effy (If we want tragedy). Luna needs to be a boy. As I mentioned, there must be another Weasley brother. If we replaced Ginny with a younger brother, I would make the twins girls, if not, a boy and a girl. Viktor krum would be a girl. Interested maybe in Ron, to shake up the subplot I mention. Fleur, on the other hand, would be a boy. But if we make Cedric the Cho Chang of Effy (Her first romance in the saga, but not her final), leave Fleur a girl.
The rest can remain as they are in the original saga.

I think you are correct with exactly what would have happened to a “Euphonia” Potter. But I also think the point of the fan theory was to change the prophecy as well. So how would a girl have fared with one other girl and a boy as her best friends under the same conditions as Harry? Now that’s different. You might have to change every character except a few minor ones.

There are a lot of grey areas here...if the prophesy was truly about harry then it would have been for a girl. If harry was a girl and the prophesy was about a boy, snape would never have gone to Dumbledore begging to save the longbottoms for example, so with the end of the wizarding world he would have gone to Azkaban since Dumbledore knew he was a death eater and had no reason to protect him.

I'm certain that had JK Rowling had made the protagonist a girl, Effie, she would have made the prophecy about a girl too. Then the story would have worked out pretty much the same, except the eventual love interests, with perhaps Effie falling for one of the other Wessley brothers, as you mention. There may have been a slightly different dynamic between Effie, Ron and Hermione too, with Effie and Hermione being closer.

They say Neville could have been the chosen one just the same, but is it really true? Lily's protection spell worked because Voldemort gave her a choice to step aside. He fulfilled Snape's request so he could use him better. Now, would Snape beg him to spare Alice Longbottom? Come to think of it, didn't the entire story happen because of Snape? Thank you for taking the time to properly name Effie. Many would go the easy route and land on Harriet. Putting that much thought into her name made the rest of the video more interesting. That shows you really explored the concept and everything following made more sense because of it.

When it comes to the relationship with Snape... If Harry were a girl, I don't think Snape would have been a Hogwarts teacher at all.
Think of it. According to this theory, Voldemort would then have gone to Neville and he would have been the chosen one. But how did Snape end up with Dumbledore? Because he was desperate to protect Lily from Voldemort, thus begging Dumbledore to help him achieve that. And even though Dumbledore was at first disgusted by Snape, he eventually felt that Snape's love for Lily was real. However if Voldemort aimed for Neville, none of that would have have happened and thus Hogwarts would likely have a different potions teacher, as I don't think Dumbledore would have recruited Snape in that scenario, nor do I think Snape would even have applied for the job and still be a Death Eater in the end.
Why link Effie's likelihood of mastering the transfiguration process to become an animagus to Sirius being her Godfather when James himself was an animagus? James and all of the marauders were... James being Effie's dad was the more obvious reason why she might successfully master this...

I've been thinking for ages that I'd love to rewrite the whole series with the main character being a girl (I was thinking with the name Harriet because it's the closest girl's name to Harry, but Effie works just as well.
I'd keep it as close to the original as possible - assume that Sybill's prophecy changes just enough to be the 'CHILD born as the seventh month dies', so Voldemort could interpret that as meaning a girl, therefore she still grows up with the Dursleys. But then work out how her life would be different. Would Vernon feel as comfortable being as physically violent to a niece as he was to a nephew, or would a girl have a (marginally) better time in that situation? How would the dynamic between the three friends go if our hero shared a dormitory with Hermione instead of Ron? Would Mr and Mrs Granger put her up over the summer, instead of Molly and Arthur? And - most interestingly - the story would have to include the main character realising that she's a lesbian, as none of the other characters would be gender-swapped and I'd want her to still be attracted to Cho and Ginny.
Could be an interesting game to play... :P

If Harry Potter was truly meant to be the chosen one of the prophecy, then in a universe where he is born as a she, I would think the prophecy would also be different, denoting that a girl would defeat Voldemort. If it truly didn't matter whether Harry or Neville was the chosen one, only that a boy defeated Voldemort, then it would be the exact same prophecy that we know. So, it is debatable whether the prophecy would be the same or changed due to Effie existing instead of Harry.

I would not assume that the one with the power would be male, at the time the prophecy was made Harry and Neville had not been born, and either or both could have been girls. Also, why think the person was even born in 1980 and not another year. At the time if you were not sure about "gender" most I think would use the default of male pronouns and could have meant 10 years down the line. Voldemort would always make it true whether he went after Harry, Neville, or Euphemia.

The prophecy could've also been different, replacing the word "boy" with "child". Effie wouldn't necessarily look like Lily but due to her being a girl she would still look less like James, making her less associated with him and less assumed to be like him.
i doubt, that if this scenario were true, they would ever call their children "severus". in this version of the story, the only link to snape is that snape loved her mother, which isnt really any reason to name a child after him.

But… I think it still would have worked out exactly the same, the Prophecy and outcome everything just instead of it being Harry it’s Effie and instead of it possibly being Neville, it would have been either another girl born at that time or a definite confirmation that it’s Effie and no one else. And of course the relationships would have been a bit different like instead of Harry being with Ginny it would have been idk one of the Weasleys or something. Then Ron and Hermione would still be friends with her and all that but Hermione being her roommate instead of Ron. Ron, being Ron, still being jealous because it’s Effie he’s jealous of and the popularity it’s all on her not him and her close relationship with Hermione not really with him. Thinking on the power of Genevra Weasley, I say that a girlie 'Harriet', 'Effie' whatever, would still have been just as powerful as Harry,. and still featured in the prophesy. That would put her in the same place as her male counterpart, at the Dursleys, and on to Hogwarts after having been a housemaid for her Aunt & Uncle. That's just my take on it. And imagine if Voldie had been a witch. That'd been an interesting twist.

I don't think her name would have been Effy. I expect it was a bit more traditional with James and Lily in that they likely decided if it's a boy James would pick the name and if it was a girl Lily would pick the name. Even if that wasn't how things went, I still think they for a girl, they would have gone witht he Evans family tradition of naming girls after flowers. So I expect her name would be something more along the lines of Heather, or Holly, or Rose or something like that.

Would Voldemort still be alive in this scenario? Cause that would mean Effie's childhood would be very different. Also, I think a big part of what makes Harry what he is (brave, determined, etc.) is his upbringing with the Dursleys and being constantly ignored and disrespected. An Effie Potter growing up with two happy, loving parents (and possibly younger siblings) would be a totally different person, not just "Harry, but a girl."

I feel like this changing the timeline would be a lot more tragic. Voldemort would never have given Neville's parents the option to stand aside like he did for Harry's mother meaning there would have never been a loving sacrifice leaving Neville vulnerable and killed. The order of the Phoenix would be on its last leg and it's members would be dropping like flies until Voldemort went after Harry's (Fee's) parents. if Voldemort went after the potters himself because Snape would have likely wanted Harry's mother spared either way thus leading to the loving sacrifice but I find this outcome to be unlikely due to the fact that Voldemort would have sent some of his death eaters to take care of the potters instead of himself due to their relative lack of importance compared to main timeline Harry.

I'd like to point out some flaws in your logic.
- Just because Effie is a girl, that doesn't mean she can't have a crush on Ginny.
- Snape would still be a loyal death-eater, because Lily wouldn't have died.
- Snape wouldn't have asked Voldemort to spare Frank or Alice, so Voldemort wouldn't have given them a chance, so nothing would have protected Neville, which means that Voldemort takes over.

I think the only thing I’d change is snape. The whole reason he switched from being a death eater to being a part of the order and teaching at hogwarts was because of voldemort targeting the potters. Snape would probably have remained a death eater without the direct risk on Lily’s life
You missed a key plot point. Snape only ever worked with/for Dumbledore because of the Death of Lilly. Without the death of Lilly Snape would still be fully loyal to Voldemort through the entire story unless Lilly was killed by someone. So this entire FanFic would and could be derailed by just Snape being on the other side the entire time! Honestly Voldemort may never have came back after the rebounded curse situation and instead all Death Eaters would flock to Snape for leadership. He is easily the most powerful and talented after Dumbledore and Voldemort.
Maybe I'm being stupid here (please correct me if I'm wrong) but surely in this version of events, with Lily being safe from Voldemort, Snape never has any reason to beg Dumbledore to "hide them all" to save her life and thus there's no reason for him to become Dumbledore's ally. He would've become a full-fledged death-eater and therefore would never teach at Hogwarts during those years. Maybe the outcome of the war would be different with a fully committed Snape serving Voldemort.
He started working long before, it could have been after the prophecy, but if I remember correctly that would only have put a target after harry was born, and thus with not enough time to do what he did, I wont say anything about the gender in the prophecy because I have the book in spanish, so it might have different wording, but given what I just said and the fact that it is stated that he joined Dumbledore's side long before Voldemort's demise in the trial that has the best teacher and worst death eater, Barty jr, then we could think the target was not the only reason, also, she was a target regardless, she was a non magic person with a magic person, part of the people that would have been killed anyways if Voldemort continued.

Snape then dutifully relayed the part of the prophecy that he heard to Voldemort letting us know that he was still a committed DE at that time. It is only when Voldemort decides that Harry is the one, putting Lily's life in direct danger, that Snape goes to Dumbledore to protect Lily. This is the point that Snape offers Dumbledore "anything" to protect her/them. Dumbledore's payment is for Snape to become a double agent and report all that he knows about Voldemort's doings. So no, Snape did not join Dumbledore until after the prophecy was made and Harry was targeted and he never would have if Neville was the chosen one. Voldemort would have likely spared Lily for Snape even tho she was a muggleborn if his need to kill Harry wasn't so great. He believed Harry was the last great threat to his immortality and intended to make his final horcrux from the murder of this boy who supposedly had the power to destroy him. I don't think she would have been a target regardless as long a Severus remained a good and faithful servant.

One theory with this is Snape would not have been at Hogwarts at all because lily never would have been I. Danger so he never would have gone to Dumbledore to act as a spy against voldemort.
I do miss one point in this thoughts. About Severus Snape. He went to the side of Albus Dumbledore BECAUSE Lily was threatened. Which reason should Severus Snape have to switch sides in time for not being punished as a Deatheater...Or even killed? Should he go to Albus when the Longbottoms were threatened?
This is telling me that in the descripted scenario Severus would not have been a teacher....even if Severus changed sides beacaus Lily was fighting in the order he would go with her and James....risking being killed as target by Voldemort because Voldemort never would let go off a deatheater to the other side unpunished.
Probably Sirius would have still been alive and fought alongside James and Remus in the Battle oft Hogwarts. It would also be interesting to see what became of Wormtail because he never had to go into hiding since he would not have been the Longbottoms secret keeper. Maybe nobody would have realised that he was a double agent and he still had his friends. That makes it unlikely that he went to look for Voldemort so his return could be delayed. And lets say Dumbledore was the Longbottoms secret keeper. That may well have saved Nevilles parents lives.
Well.. this whole theory is also based on the concept that Neville’s parents died in the same way as Harry’s and therefore Neville became the boy who lived. Means that all of the theory is based on the idea that the storyline of Harry Potter plays out for Neville as “Harry”. Voldemort “died” as well and the wizardry world would have been “safe” to live in. If go this way sure this theory makes sense but also just means that Harry Potter is not the story of Harry Potter anymore. If we are more realistic about it the likelihood that Neville would have survived and the love sacrifice would have worked in the same way is completely unlikely. Means that Lilly, James, Sirius would have fought Voldemort constantly without going in hiding and therefore risking their lives. And without Peter being the snitch as the secret keeper he probs would have done something else to hand over parties of the Order of the Phoenix.
So my take is, if Harry would have been girl the whole story would have been a complete different one with the likelihood that Harry’s character wouldn’t be able to grow up in a peaceful family environment and going to Hogwarts.
Never mind that wo the chosen one, Wormtail might have never cemented his faith as a deatheater by betraying the Potters and might not end up helping Voldemorts return.
The best Girl Who Lived fanfiction I have read is a Fate/Stay Night crossover called Swords and Sorcery (Year 1: No Route Back, Year 2: All Ore Nothing) by Susanoh13 and they were really enjoyable, though sadly only the first two years were written. She was named Iris Potter, which I think is fitting, as her mother was also named after a flower. It was absolutely brilliant!
Few things you didn't take into account. Snape would still be a death eater, he only switched because of Lily, if anything Lupin might've been her potions professor. Effie first wand from Ollivanders, it's obscure but relevant. James teaching Effie how to become an animagus, he can turn into a stag.
And the thing is Voldemort would have still ended up the same with Neville since the prophecy was self-fulfilling and the Longbottoms seem to have had similar protectiveness. And Effie might have met Ron beforehand since Molly was a relative of an Order member and had a child the same age. And since James, Lily, Sirus, and Remus who also would have been closer to Effie, were all central to the Order she probably would have met Dumbledore sometime before and with a personality possible being similar to Harry she would have still likely somehow got involved in the battle against Voldemort before his rise, maybe helping Nevile sometime before Voldemort came back. Nevile likely would still be similar to how he was in the series, maybe with even less self-esteem with a huge reputation, coupled with being a late bloomer. And we do have to wonder about Bellatrix going after the Potters as she did the Longbottoms. Actually, they wouldn't have been her target since they attacked the Longbottoms because they were searching for Voldemort and thought the Longbottoms knew where since they were Aurors.

Hi there, I got theory for what if Harry Potter was a girl I like your ideas is it ok I add few ideas for the theories.
1. Philosophers stone- yes she meets Hermione and Ron also Neville (aka chosen one) on first day of school and she hate on Draco, but Draco try make friend with her and try to make her flirt on him. I don’t know quest goes on first year but Neville need her, hermione and Ron help for quest.
2. Chamber of secrets - Neville and Ron miss the train and take fly car to Hogwarts. Ron got the howler. Female Harry vs Draco in duelling club. Female Harry and Ron know the fraud that professor Lockhart is. Female Harry and Ron help Neville save Ginny.
3.Prisoner of Azkaban- rumours of werewolf spreading around, Hagrid teach the class, Draco get hurts, Draco get punch by Hermione. Neville, Hermione and female Harry uses time turner to go back in time to save buckbeak and female Harry and Neville and injury Sirius. Neville knew it was him who did Expecto Patronum
4. Goblet of Fire- Fem Harry, Hermione and Neville got big quidditch game with the Weasley family. Neville see Death mark but didn’t see who cast the spell. Three wizardry schools have Triwizard Tournament and someone mysterious put Neville name in Goblet of fire. Hermione, Ron and Female Harry try to help Neville win each task with some tips, but Ron was angry at first. Yule ball Neville take Ginny as a date while female Harry take George as a date. On 3rd task Cedric dies and Voldemort return again and Neville try tell everyone he’s return and nobody believes him.
5.Order of the Phoenix- Umbridge came to hogwart to teach. Many students didn’t like the way she is teaching while Dumbledore disappears from being framed. Neville and group of students become Dumbledore until Umbridge and other students found out. Neville and hermione trick Umbridge before Neville, Hermione, Female Harry, Ron, Ginny, Luna head to ministry of magic to save Sirius but it was a trick for them by Lucius, Bellatrix and death eaters. Until order of the Phoenix came and save them. Bellatrix kills Sirius while female Harry shock in horror and crying for lost of her godfather. Neville went after Bellatrix and both Voldemort and Dumbledore have a duel. Before Voldemort disappears ministry and minister saw Voldemort.
6. Half blood prince- Neville and Female Harry are or may aware that Draco is deatheater. Lavender and Ron are hang out or dating and the male Hermione kind of jealous. Neville meet up Slughorn and ask couple of questions. Dumbledore and Neville goes for the mission. Draco let his aunt and the deatheaters in hogwart and Draco disarm Dumbledore and Professor Snape kills Dumbledore
7. Deathly Hallows- Ron, Hermione and female Harry join and help Neville to find and destroy the Horcruxes. With so many dangerous task like getting way from deatheaters, break in and out ministry, not be seeing, escape from malfoy manor, break in and out Gringotts bank, break in Hogwarts. Neville fake his death and until he and Voldemort did epic final duel while Female Harry save Ron and Hermione by slicing Nagini before they were about get kill. Epilogue 4 friends are married and have their own children.

In this universe Harry never existed, Potters live, Dark Lord falls and goes after Longbottom instead. Effie becomes a background character who is taken out of school once trouble starts along with the Wesleys. Longbottom defeats Dark Lord with help form Dumbledore and school staff.
The movies do a better job of dealing with the Neville-Harry prophesy ambiguity. In the movie, who killed Riddle? Was it Harry's ownership of the Elder Wand or Neville filleting Nangini? The latter is more likely as it was the horcrux which allowed Tom to exist.
The prophesy was not about Harry at all. Harry was the diversion. Without Harry, Neville may mot have survived to complete his task.
He would likely have dated Effie and she would have been his protector - along with Luna. What a story that would make.
If Harry'd been a girl with parents alive I also think that girl would've become very good at Potions in school, since Lily was very good at Potions as mentioned by Slughorn and since James's father was an expert at Potions as well, being the creator Sleekeasy HairPotion. I also wonder if a girl version of Harry would play Seeker for the house-team or play a different position on the team.

If Lily Potter was never threatened by Voldemort what would've been Snape's motivation for turning against his master and siding with Dumbledore? Perhaps Snape never teaches at Hogwarts at all but instead dies in Azkaban as a convicted death eater. Or without Lily Potter's sacrificial protection for her child, Voldemort is never defeated in the First Wizarding War and the whole magical world looks totally different from what we see in the real story. Neville dies as a baby, and Voldemort has no one in his way on his path to power.
Prophecy or no prophecy, there is no reason to think that Neville -- if he survived at all -- would be any different than he was in the actual books/movies, especially in his first few years at Hogwarts. Neville became a badass, but he started out as a scared & chubby little kid who sucked at magic, and there's no reason to think that would've changed if Voldemort had killed his parents rather than them being tortured into insanity. The only real difference is that he wouldn't have had to see them in that state every year.
Of course, the most likely outcome is that Effie's story plays out almost exactly like Harry's. The prophecy is still made just as it was, but now it's about Effie the girl rather than Harry the boy. Either way, we're talking about the same soul with the same destiny. In the end, most of the same choices are made and most of the same outcomes are reached.

One thing you really miss when saying the Ephy would only meet Ron after being sorted into Gryffindor: Lili&James as well as Mr&Mrs Weasley were members of the Order of the Phoenix and probably friends. So I think it's safe to assume that Ron and Ephy would knew each other from their early ages and the twins would rather be some kind of brother figures for Ephy and not potential partners.
Molly and Arthur were not members of the original Order of the Phoenix and didn't attend Hogwarts at the same time as James and Lily. While they would likely be aware of each other as Pureblood families it's highly unlikely they would have been friends.
It’s also most likely that Effie would have been friends with Hermione more than Ron like Harry did since Effie would have shared a room with Hermione rather than Ron, forming a closer bond with Hermione

I think so, yeah, if Neville had come out his shell by then, which is unlikely, so Tom Riddle MAY have come to power and Ginny would be dead and we would have 2 Voldies fighting for power.

Well I don't think Snape would have come back to Dumbledore if Lily's life wasn't threatened . So I think Snape could be easily ruled out of the equation.
Not sure if snape would have been at hogwarts. Voldemort would not have gone after lilly so snape would not have a reason to make the deal with Dumbledore

Would Snape have turned good if Lily's life wasnt in danger? I am not convinced he would have been around in the school following Voldemort's demise at the hands of baby Neville? Not a HP expert but seems like it wouldn't pan out.
This is a really interesting theory, it would have being awesome to see the relationship between Sirius and Effy, (not sure how to spell Effy so I spelt it how it sounds) plus the relationship between Effy and Lilly and James, her friendship with Ron and Hermione and then Ginny later on. I love the content. I'd like to see if Molly and Arthur went to school with Lilly and James or if the had graduated before
1. Sirius would see Effie and think of Lily, so she wouldn’t get the Firebolt until Sirius gets to know her.
2. In the Half-Blood Prince book, Molly said that Slughorn taught her and Arthur, so she would’ve attended Hogwarts between the 1940’s and 1981 because 1981 is when Slughorn retired because of what he told Riddle about Horcruxes and Snape getting his job.
@@YellowBear-kx1ff Also in Goblet of Fire Harry takes Molly to see the Whomping Willow as it had been planted there after she had left Hogwarts. The Willow was planted during James and Lily's first year as way to hide the passage to the Shrieking Shack so Remus could transform there.

What if... The flying car was the chosen one? What if the car actually belonged to James and was there when Voldemort attacked and the piece of his soul that broke off attached itself to the car instead of Harry. Imagine if when Harry and Voldemort are having the final duel, the car pops out of the forest and its enchanted side mirror reflects Voldemort's spell back at him, killing him.
I really like fan fics, mostly because they almost create a ripple effect with the story line. Although almost keeping the end the same
