For some of us who never have or seen a supercell. This video is stunning work of art. This formation of a storm is amazing, first I thought a tornado was gonna spin up from it. But it was just heavy rain. And the view from far away and just nothing but flat land no buildings and trees to block the view. I just stare in awe. Just stunning absolutely beautiful. I need to make a trip to those states.
this is why i love the midwest/central plains, these things occur quite often in the spring and they are so easy to spot with no trees or buildings in the way
low precipitation supercells are my favorite kind of supercells because you can see all the little details in it, unlike high precipitation supercells (or classic)
LP supercells just don't get enough love. What a friggin fantastic thing to see. I saw exactly one so far in my life and it was in the eastern plains of New Mexico. What a glorious thing it was to see. I didn't even care about the fact that I was originally cruising for tornadoes. Once I saw it I was floored. Made my month.
fantastic shot. you can clearly see the lower level winds in one direction and the higher level winds flowing a different direction, generating a wind shear vortex. very beautiful pedestal cloud too; I was almost expecting a tornado.
@@itzrenzo8960 Yes, low precip. Nothing else looks like this. Classic supercells have a lot more rain in the core, HP supercells often have the updraft obscured by rain.
Nate, you said it perfect my man... What an absolutely perfect contribution example for study in the field of meteorology and the pure wonderment of storm formation.
About 3 or 4 years ago, Linn County, Iowa had the sirens blow. They had actually stopped sounding, when my young son and I looked up. And right over our street was this weird "upside down bowl" cloud above us and it was slowly turning. We looked at each other, did the "Do you see what I see?!" bit and headed to the basement. It never did come down but I am sure that was a funnel cloud. I had never seen one except on videos. There really IS a beauty to them, if you also keep a healthy respect for what they can do, which is pretty scary!
Hoooooly canoli! This is amazing. I always wonder why when the storm is going counterclockwise, there seems to be clockwise movement too and I assume that's the inflow bands but it's confusing. This really shows that.
For me this is the best video that I have seen until today from the birth to the death of this wonderful supercell sincerely you did a very good job congratulations 👏👍✌️
Thank you! For this time lapse I actually just shot video and sped it up. I used a Go Pro Hero 7 with standard 4K settings and a Sony a6400. I’m trying to figure out how to use the interval shooting function for time-lapses myself!
@@FreddyMcKinney I shoot storm and cloud time-lapse videos. I've had some pretty spectacular storms and videos but this is one I'd trade them all for. This is awesome. For storm time-lapse, I will typically take a photo every 2 seconds and create a 24fps video from it. That typically speeds it up to keep it interesting but not so much that's it's over too quickly. The favorite of my storm time-lapse videos is my channel feature video. It's not as removed from the storm as this one. I was right in the thick of it, but I thought it turned out awesome, especially the sunset at the end of the storm.
There is no greater beauty. One of the best time lapse shots I've ever seen, and I have seen quite a few.
Appreciate that man!!!!
I love the thunderhead at the start ❤@@FreddyMcKinney

But where is the rain shaft within the supercell?

One of the best cloud videos I’ve ever watched, the structure of the cloud and the rotation looks amazing.
Poor thing just faded back to nothing!
:( true tho lol
Man, what a show!! Beautiful at every stage. You couldn't have been at a better spot!
What a gorgeous LP storm. Thank you!!!
Low precipitation.? Are low precipitation supercells the only supercells that have these base clouds?
@@itzrenzo8960 Yes, low precip. Nothing else looks like this. Classic supercells have a lot more rain in the core, HP supercells often have the updraft obscured by rain.
Nice catch!
Holy moly that was such a good marriage of storm and music. Loved it.
Absolutely gorgeous. I would love to one day see such sights with my own eyes.
Guys, how do we tell him
Incredible video! Would love to see such a beautiful LP one day... Greetings from Germany :)
Cool lp supercell with those cool laminar striations structures the flanking line so cool
Fantastic job
Dude, this was stunning. It was like watching an elegant ballet.
Nice video, Freddy!!! That was awesome!!! You and John take care and hope to see you guys out chasing soon...
Thanks! Yeah it’s been a really long year man. Not enough storms!!
That's a beauty of a supercell. She really wanted an audience.
Fantastic Freddy
That was amazing supercell. NE has some good ones
So beautiful. Brought tears. Thank you.
One of the best ive seen by FAR!!
That beginning clip is crazy... I've never actually seen wind shear like that !
What a beautiful dissipation stage. I feel dissipation of supercells is somewhat overseen but it is very beautiful too.
Beautiful
Super, amazing supercell!
0:22 i wanted new supercell
poor cell, it just faded away...
Wow! Such a beautiful footage. We got emotional here
Is the tiny hail shaft in the back the rfd?
Maybe? I’ll be honest I really don’t know on this one.
It's almost kinda cute. Great song too!
That's an amazing shot! Well done, and thank you for sharing it.
It's weird how it's all by itself like that, but it makes for great photography and filmography!
Spectacular! The ending looks like a flying saucer.
A whirlpool of air

Awesome Freddy. You’re crushing it this year! Happy to see it!
I hope this supercell didn’t produce to much extreme weather but it’s kinda crazy how most supercells form on sunny days
Absolutely Stunning!!!
Wow! Insane LP supercell :OOOO I love how it rotate :D
I am in awe i’ve only seen a couple supercells in my life but this better than all of them
An amazing LP supercell amazingly photographed. Congratulations 👏.
It does not get any better! What a masterpiece...
Any lightning with it? Such a tiny, tight little thing ... nice shot
I don’t believe so. Maybe some CCs but definitely no CGs.
this is both beatiful and horryfying
That's fantastic! Nicely done...
Thank you!
Glorious! Just glorious! 🏆

Wondrous! Thanks for putting this up.
Bravo - superb view of our wonderful life at the bottom of an ocean.
Its amazing how there super powerful thunderstorms just form out in the middle of nowhere
