    Nice review on a bike I own even the same colour and love every ride. USB under rear seat as others have mentioned. Other than the slightly dull looks not much not to like. For under 7 grand its amazing. Could do with a hugger and a different end can which I've not bought yet but will. Agree it needs a fuel distance to empty display and I've got cramp on it a couple of times too and I'm only 5 foot 9!! Mine has the quick shifter and heated grips but not much else yet. Makes me smile every time I ride it. 🙂

    Just got mine a few days ago. 400 miles up so far. Even at running in revs it's fast an fun. Wasn't running in the demo bike weeks ago so I know what it will be like afrer! Had a tracker 700 a while back, this better in every way, power, suspension, handling, ease of use, tech....loving it.

    • @adderhoney
      @adderhoney Рік тому

      You can ride it as normal when running it in. Some low revs, some mid range revs, and occasionally higher revs.
      It comes with running in oil which is changed to regular oil at the first service at 600 miles.

    The mrs would love that rear seat. The cb650r is much smaller. But the clutch leaver issue is the same! Too much travel for the hand. I just couldn’t buy it due to the front light assembly, it’s a shocker! Great review thanks!

    Nice honest final thoughts vid . 👍 Your first 2 hate/no likey points are spot on. USB charge point, an absolute must. And knowing your range is pretty damned important too. No point being a mile down the road from the nearest petrol station when a low fuel light comes on. If you now your range, then you know when to stop...

    I said exactly the same as you about the front end on another channel last night...including ''you can't see it when you are on the bike!' 🙂 Unfortunately, you can see iit when you get off and walk away..and look back..... It would be the Silver / Grey for me, that red frame / forks doesn't do it any favours whether it matches or not.The 'sandblasted' yellow looks horrible to my eyes. Suprised you didn't mention the short front mudguard that needs an extender or that it needs a rear hugger, I guess you'd have noticed if it had chucked it down with rain a few times! 🙂 Great review agree with every word.

    Do you ever encounter the odd tractor or two? Nah the red frame is very nice with the white or black,yellow paint jobs- very Italian. Cruise control would be nice though I suppose they’re trying to keep the price down. I don’t bother with USB outlets on my CB500F. No up/down shifters or ride modes either. Isn't there a USB socket underneath the pillion seat? - I thought there was one there. I find the red frame and forks pretty hideous, frankly. I didn't notice the variation in shade when I looked at the bike. I have one on order, Hell knows when it will arrive.....Grey and nice, decent, clean living black frame colour. The bike is a wonder. I'm trading it in for my CB650R, that you also reviewed and, I think, liked. But, the Hornet has power all over and, despite, it's vile, Italian (with cheapo economics a factor) looks, it's too good to ignore. I'd get a Street Triple R, but the insurance for me, living in Watford, is about 10x the price - figure that! I have full no claims too.

    This is a Honda, the best, most reliable brand you can buy. You said this bike isn't "crazy quick", compared to what? To a super sport? No, it's not but it's a naked bike that is clocked, tried and tested from zero to 200 KM/H in 11, 5 seconds. The only naked motorcycle that beats this time in Honda's naked line up is the CB1000R, so being the second fastest naked motorcycle you can purchase from Honda and the third fastest in top speed, for a naked, you can say it's fast. Remember, Naked Bikes and Sports Bikes are different realities. This Hornet did 229 KM/H with me on it. It's already over the limit for a naked. If I still owned my Fireblade then I would say that 229 KM/H is slow for a super sport. I've been riding for more than 30 years and it seems to me that people today do not know how to evaluate motorcycles because there are so many types and styles to choose from and they mostly do not know what riding is about. Riding is NOT about mounting a cell phone on your handle bars that's what cars are for.

    Honda doesn't have a fuel gauge? My 2007 CBR has a fuel gauge I'm actually shocked as I was looking at one of these uprights. You're also right about the looks, with the likes of the KTM 790/890 and Yamaha's with LED front lights, that looks like a dinosaur. I think the cosmetics are important too, you wouldn't wanna be seen with anything else ugly would you 😂

    • @peternedermann6751
      @peternedermann6751 Рік тому

      Fuel gauge it has - remaining distance is the one missing (I own a Transalp - same tech, different wrapping). And comparing it to my 2004 CBR 600 F4i, that thing (which I loved to bits before I sold just last month) actually didn't have a fuel gauge - it had a "reserve indicator" thingy instead, in 5 stages, which was weird (so nothing comes up for like 250 km, then the reserve, looking like a fuel gauge, comes alive, and starts losing one brick every 7-8 km or so - is that the same on you 2007?). Oh, and the lights are full LED (just like on the CB 500X), and surprisingly good (tried & tested :), despite the mediocre looks)

      Huh, you don’t charge your phone when commuting when you’re not using it? Maybe one would need directions? It’s definitely something all new bikes should come standard with. Even if it’s just for a tyre inflator in case of an emergency. I do believe this bike has it under the pillion seat, but again it would be handy at the front should directions be needed.
