What do you do when your nails grow out? Do you need to remove the rubber base after a certain number weeks? Or can you just file partially and reapply?
You see so welcome!! I do fills and rebalance as they grow out! Once every few months I file it almost all the way off and do a new set! But I haven’t soaked off in acetone in over 3.5 years!!
Here’s how I do a Builder Gel fill which is similar to how to do a rubber base fill! I’ll be working on a rubber base fill next time I have to fill my nails!

Yay I’m so glad to hear that helped!! The gloves are UV, so for a little extra protection. Mostly bc I have super sensitive skin and can’t get any nail dust (from filing gel or dip powder) on my skin or I get itchy easily! I wear the gloves when I dip too so powder isn’t on my skin!
What is the different between primer and base coat can I use them interchangeably or do I need a primer for rubber base instead of base coat
Primer is a sticky adhesive that bonds gel to your natural nails. It does not need cured. You apply it after Dehydrator and then apply whatever gels you’re using. Primer is needed with rubber base, builder gel, polygel, and just a simple gel manicure.
Base coat is not needed under rubber base. Rubber base is a flexible thick viscosity gel that can be used as an overlay on your natural nails and it doubles as a base coat for your first layer if you are using color gels over it. After applying rubber base- you can then use color gels or apply dip powder with gel base over top for different colors!
Did you put top coat after bufffing in the end? I'm currently doing my first rubber base
I did not because I dipped over it! So if you buff and shape, make sure you wipe off with alcohol, gel base and cure, gel top and cure!

Why does rubber base gel burn
Oh no! It shouldn’t burn- outside of maybe a few seconds at first. It could be burning for a few reasons. 1. Your gel was applied too thick. 2. Your natural nails are damaged and the lamp is burning your natural nails. 3. You’re using a product with hema in it- which can cause a lot of burning! I only use hema free gels- never any of the low quality ones with hema! Do any of those make sense for you?!
