A father from Victor and Sydney's school kissed her, and she told Joel. Did she like it? Maybe. However, Victor was going through a lot at school and Joel was so happy to be at work again that he was frustrated that Julia needed him just as he was going back. Personally, I found him very annoying and self-righteous.
To be fair, she was an asshole to him when he was a stay at home dad and she was a working mom. They both really needed to experience both roles and grow without one another. I really loved them as a couple, but they were both problematic and needed to take a step back.
Are you kidding? The marriage issues were 100% her fault. She kissed the dad from school. He had every right to be mad. And why was Joel back at work? Oh yeah, because Julia quit her job as a lawyer completely out of the blue without speaking to Joel first. He went back to work so his family didn't, you know, starve. And while Joel handled being a stay at home parent with no problem at all, Julia freaked out at the slightest thing when the shoe was on the other foot, like when she barged into Joel's office and insulted his boss, which could have gotten him fired, over nothing more than her being stressed about the kids. When Julia told him not everything is about the work, Joel had the perfect reply: "It was all about the work when you were working". He is 100% right. And while they were separated she had no problem sleeping with multiple men, while Joel never messed around, even with his boss, who was hotter than Julia and made multiple passes at him. He was the better person and it isn't close.
Yeah - what Joel did to her was WAY worse than her “cheating” incident. He Gaslit her all the way. Treating it as if she slept with the guy. I’ve been cheated on in both ways - so I know both sides of it. As a man - I think the way he handled it was wrong.
Are you kidding? The marriage problems were 100% her fault. She was the one who quit her job as an attorney, without even talking to Joel first. She was the one that put down his career when she was working and everything was 100% about her job. Once she quits work suddenly, Joel goes back to work so his family doesn't , you know...starve. Joel had handled being a stay at home parent with ease, while Julia freaks out at the slightest thing and starts losing her shit, like when she barged into Joel's office over nothing more that being stressed about the kids, insulted Joel's boss, which could have gotten him fired. She then develops a relationship with Roy from "The Office" and kisses him. After the separation, she finds out that Joel's father had cheated on his mother, which affectedly him severely. So of course a couple of episodes later, Julia fucks basically a complete stranger, the guy who was trying to get the schooling set up for Max. Afterwards, she carries on a relationhip with Chris, while still married to Joel. In the meantime, Joel never cheats and constantly turns down the advances of his "hotter than Julia" boss. He was far and away the better person. The only thing he is guilty of is tolerating her crap for so long and being way too nice.
Tony C True though... but i hate Joel for the fact that when his marriage was starting to get bland, julia was the one who tried to save the marriage. and what joel did was run away. but still, both at fault. I BLAME THE WRITER.
After he refused to stay, after he unilaterally decided the marriage was over & refused to fight for them, no matter what. He just shut himself off and walked away from his family, so she had to move on and so did he. Frankly I find it bizarre that it took him over a year to decide to come back & it’s no wonder she doesn’t trust him because the children can’t take this kind of heartache nor should they have to.
I’m watching now (Hulu). Halfway through season 5. I’m not excusing Joel, he had his faults here and there, I think they both played a part in their marriage suffering. But honestly…. There were times I’ve felt more for him & felt more annoyed by Julia multiple times throughout…. Especially in the later seasons.
@@arialifeless no she cheated on Joel while they were still together. Remember she kissed that guy, she started sleeping with other people once they were separated
@@juyahmad right!! i completely forgot, i watched this like seven years ago. she kisses that other dad, right? the one that had been like laid off or something?
Their entire separation was so stupid. Julia didn't cheat on him. He took it way out of line. I really like Joel until this season.

thank you, julia fucked it all up. Joel is a boss
We don’t know enough about Victor’s mom except she was in prison
non mi ricordo perche avevano litigato?
Okay Julia is blaming Joel for everything and YET she is sleeping with all these guys!!!!! Haven't seen him sleeping with anyone.

I heard she cheats on him?
She does sleep w someone but it's when they're apart so I don't think it counts? They were not even living together anymore
