Lucas World Travel To be honest, we are a little bit surprised at the reaction we got from this video...we thought that this kind of thing was more ‘normal’ for our overseas viewers than it is for us, but apparently not 😅 Looks like steam trains has a magical feeling for people from all over the world 💛
We were on the 12:30 and endorse all your comments. A must-do trip. Maureen, the other steam loco is well over 100 years old. She will be back on the tracks sometime next year.l
First off, can we talk about what an AMAZING intro that was?!? The drone shots are amazing. South Africa has always been on my travel bucket list & as soon as the travel restrictions are up, I can’t wait to check out all the nice spots you guys recommended. This train looks so cool. Till then, I’ll be binge watching all your episodes 💯
Sorgi Stories Oh wow, the museum must be great 😊 it really was an amazing experience riding on this old train. The volunteers look after it so nicely 💛
WOOO valley of 1,000 HILLS sounds awesome! Love that you were allowed to fly the drone over the train tracks! Coach is beautiful. The train moved and for a second I thought you missed it, but it was probably another train! HAHA. The oldest tunnel in South Africa!?!?! So cool. ONLY running steam train!?!? Definitely super lucky. Oh WOW, they all volunteer and run it once a month which makes it extra special!!! Lunch Time! We were waiting for FOOD and COFFEE! We loved your train ride experience! We have never done this before! Bloopers are LIT as usual
Thank you so much for this comment. We really appreciate your kind words. We had so much fun and it was one of those once in a life time experiences😁. I think I (Craig) have found a new passion for old trains😆
This video is so great! This train is literally 5min drive from where we stay and we've been wanting to go for a while! Definitely feeling more keen to go now 😄🚞 nicely done guys!
Great video guys! I just can't say it enough but for a small channel your video and editing quality is up their with the big channels like @karaandnate. Lol our videos still look like novice videos, (we are still learning and improving.) Loved the editing touches where the video speed and music were in sync. The train was cool too. Lol oh and glad you said you chased the train a bit because I was asking Trevor 'how'd they get shots outside of the train?'-Shawna🍁

The Traveling Swiss Thanks so much 🙂 you’re so right, We definitely have to learn to enjoy the journey a bit more in life, and not just rush to a destination
Oh yea gotta start off with coffee. This looks like a really cool place to spend a day. The drone shots of the train really added to the experience. I would have been so nervous when the train went over the camera (I hear that was Craig maybe? 😆) but it seems it was worth it!
It was amazing. And the coffee was the perfect start to a cold morning😅. I (Craig) put the Gopro under the train when Chantal wasn't looking 😂. It was definitely worth it😎😅. Thanks for the message guys!
Guys I've never been more proud to be a South African 😃 flip this looks incredible 🥰 definitely agree with what you said, a train ride in South Africa feels so out of the ordinary and such a treat 😀 Drone footage was on point, you guys are absolutely killing it 😀 Loved the bloopers at the end 😅😅 Craig you definitely remind me of Adam 😂 So great to see these people volunteering for the steam train 😍 Thanks for sharing this awesome experience with us, I definitely think Adam and I will book a ride for ourselves 😄
Hey guys. Wow thank you for the awesome message. It was definitely one of our favourite adventures we have been on in a long while. You guys have to do it oneday😁 been practicing with the drone 😆. We were just so happy that the rain stayed away. There are lots of bloopers to choose from😂😂. We hope your road trip is going well🤗☺️
Wow you guys got such amazing footage! looked like a VIP experience. Love the sweet shots of you two in the train and walking the tracks 😍 and the shots of the coal shoveling and furnace and the camera under the train had me saying WOW out load! You got to do so much in 3 hours! Such a fun experience to get to do with you guys virtually.
DjusLife thanks so much guys, really appreciate your comment (like always 😊) I can’t believe Craig put the GoPro on the train tracks 🙈 it paid off though 😅
Its been such a long time since either of us have been on an old steam engine train, loved the hole punching and shoveling the coal. Pretty cool they reopened it after lockdown and you got to have a great ride... and ended it in the best way possible! ;)
Hey guys, thank you for the message. The whole experience was really amazing. I also think that with them being closed for so long, they were really excited to open again, which made the experience even more amazing😁
This looked like a fantastic experience! We did something near us last year... love the insides of the old carriages and the sounds of a steam train 🙂 I also love that the volunteers helped you with filming! Amazing, so nice 😀 Great video guys
This is definitely an activity my hubby and I would love to do - that train ride looked so scenic, but what an experience to be on a 100 year old train! The tunnel was really cool and the food at the station looked really yummy. I loved the bloopers/behind the scenes shots!
Thank you so much. Yes it is definitely something you have to do! The people were so friendly, the food and drinks were good and the experience was unforgettable 😅😁
It was a great train experience with you guys .!!! loved the locomotive and definitely appreciate the volunteers hard work in maintaining the heritage !! I totally loved the camera work, the cinematic low shots , the up close shots with the volunteers ....and so on.... !!
What a beautiful train and beautiful journey! For me, I love train rides because it feels like I am experiencing a part of history. I can't believe that tunnel was built in 1878...thats' amazing! And the restaurant that you had lunch at was so cool with all their train memorabilia. This is one my favorite vlogs from you guys, it was so nicely done. Very cinematic!
April Chu Thanks so much April, really appreciate your comment. (It’s also our favourite video that we’ve made hehe) Wesley the ‘almost 100 year old’ locomotive definitely stole the show though 😅
Greetings from Bergvliet, Cape Town. Ceres Rail, at the moment, are busy preparing their steam locos and coaches for the big day when they are able to start running trains again.
@@BeingBedingfield I did the trip to the Elgin Railway Market with them in 2019 and really loved it! Hopefully you get a chance to take a trip with them when you get a chance to vit Cape Town.
Like 10. Awesome video. So beautiful steam engine. You were so lucky that you had the chance to visit this Railway and for 3 hours you enjoyed it. And it was the only train running in lockdown. Excellent video. 100/100 marks for this video. Awaiting more videos like this. Stay safe.

First off, I LOVE your thumbnail and that opening train track shot was SO cool! It's a well edited vlog. Well done, you two :) The inside of the train is charming and the scenery is lovely. I love all the atmospheric sounds and all the waving too. Felt like I was there with you guys on this adventure. Thanks for taking us along!
Aww, thank you for this lovely comment, appreciate it so much! Craig put the GoPro on the tracks, when I wasn’t looking haha, at least it all worked out and we got that amazing shot 😅
There's a trip from ingchanga to Botham Hill they are not doing the trip to kloof from ingchanga because of the floods the banks washed away on the rail line and the trip is due on the 29 30 June 2024 on the weekend so please do a video if will go thanks🎉❤❤❤
Tide Knot Travellers magic! Haha the destination isn’t very far, so we chased the train when it left for the 2nd session and stopped at 2 or 3 places to get some shots 😊
I have planned to train for sometime. But your train I now plan for sure. ‘Great b-roll’. Nice drone work. Question: Did you have to preorder the bags of snacks? I think that was my favorite. 🌴🌴Aloha
Yes now you have to train! 😜. I'm glad we could help with your decision to do it sooner 😁. Yes we got given a piece of paper with the menu as we got onto the train. We then marked what we wanted and someone collected the paper before the train left. Then during the journey a person with a cart delivered all the snacks. We paid as we received them. I hope that helps😁
