I purchased one of your recommended laptops and software runs good but I would like a larger external display. What’s recommended for a display? Should I stick to 1080 or would I benefited from a 4 K Monitor?
Stick with a 1080 or a 1440 - A 4K won't provide much value but will greatly slow down your computer. We like this 1440p monitor for it's color accuracy and resolution: amzn.to/2WSDtgg

Can you import your own 3d models?
Through the upgraded version of Pool Studio (Vip3D) you can import FBX and Sketchup files.
